5 starsFrom start to finish, Distinctive Metal Roofing conducted itself in a courteous, respectful, and highly professional manner. Having researched standing seam metal roof materials, coatings, installation and costs beforehand, it was immediately apparent that DMR were more knowledgeable than other contractors we interviewed (e.g. they were the only ones who asked about and then physically inspected for anticipated ventilation impacts); they emphasized the value of using premium components and installation techniques, rather than focusing solely on costs. My unending questions were answered satisfactorily, without hedging or disclaiming. The transition from sales to construction was smooth and well-orchestrated, despite many moving parts. The crew worked efficiently around weather delays and provided daily updates. Given that material costs would be similar (apples-to-apples, that is), we concluded that differences in total contract price between contractors would reflect service, workmanship and experience; and that there is no point in paying so much for a “forever” roof unless it is installed with that timeframe in mind. We are happy with our decision to go with Distinctive Metal Roofing -- Our end result is not only beautiful to behold, but we have confidence that our significant investment will remain so “forever”.Review fromDon A

For our 1971 Cape Cod (1-1/2 story) house, our April 2023 project consisted of KasselWood Aged Cedar steel shingles with ridge vents, gutters & downspouts, aluminum fascia, and hidden vent soffits. We are fully satisfied with all aspects of the products and the process. But perhaps most importantly, Distinctive Metal Roofing helped us correct a serious problem with ventilation that had existed since the house was built. There had never been proper air flow from under the eaves up to the peak of the roof, because the space between the angled portion of the 2nd floor ceiling and the roof had been blocked with insulation. To correct the problem while maintaining the insulation for the 2nd floor living space, they had to remove all the roof decking in this area and install baffles above the insulation, then install new 1/2" plywood decking. Finally, they advised that we needed to block all 4 existing gable vents so that all ventilation would occur from the under the eaves to the ridge vents. We did this on our own after the roofing job was completed. We're writing this review 10 months later, and we can say that during the summer we noticed a significantly cooler house, especially the 2nd floor, which we attribute to both the great reflective nature of the coating on the KasselWood shingles combined with our now-resolved ventilation problem, both thanks to Distinctive Metal Roofing.

5 starsIts been almost two months since our new roof was installed. We receive so many compliments from friends and passersby about how great it looks. We used a product mimicking wood shingle and it is amazing. More importantly, the service and installation were exceptional. I have lived in my home for over 25 years and I can honestly say that this was the BEST contractor experience I have ever had. Responsive, communicative, clean, efficient. Simply superb on all levels.
