I was charged for a subscription to Resume.io that I did not knowingly sign up for. I never used the service and did not authorize ongoing charges.Why would I sign up for an ongoing subscription when all I wanted was a single written resume, which I had already paid for in full? It makes no sense that I would continue with a monthly subscription for a product I never intended to use.When I contacted Resume.io, they refused to issue a refund, citing their no refunds policy.There are numerous online complaints describing the same experience: misleading sign-up flows, auto-renew traps, and cancellation barriers.Desired Resolution: $49.90My credit card company has already canceled my card and I have disputed the charges since Resume.io refused to provide a refund. This business has a shady practice of trying to get you to think that you canceled your subscription when you actually have not. Youll go through the ****** subscription steps hit a button that says cancel subscription. But youve not actually canceled your subscription. Youve just been taken to another page that looks like youve gone through the entire process until you scroll down and then they want you to fill out a reason why youre canceling and then hit another button that says cancel subscription. This is extremely shady and unethical. This is not really a product that you would ever need a subscription for and most people are just signing up for the single month to get a single product and then cancel. And then they attempt to trick you into thinking that youve canceled when you actually have not.Initial Complaint

I purchased a resume review and phone call from Talent Worldwide (dba Top Resume) on June 16, 2025 for $143.00. At the bottom of the email receipt it says "Your order includes 30 days free access to the TopResumes *************** Platform, then only $24.95/mo. Cancel anytime." I have been trying to cancel the career services platform ever since. I attached a screenshot of the two automated payments taken from my account since then. When I visit my Purchase History page on their website, I receive an error message. I'm unable to cancel in any other location and I've asked their Chatbot for help, which hasn't resulted in anything.Customer Answer

I have not received a refund for the past billing. While they claim I can cancel anytime, there was no way to cancel available on their website and their service team never responded to the request. Top Resume did cancel the subscription, but I have not been refunded.

They charged me 179$ for a resume writing service...and the first draft was incomprehensible AI slop. It had no relationship to the three example jobs I supplied on their request with the order, no relationship to the resume I submitted and when I complained about this they told me "this is only the first draft, this is a collaborative process".Do you know any other service that charges the client money to have the CLIENT train their employees how to write the resumes? I had a very frustrating experience with TopResume. I signed up expecting help with my job search, but instead received minimal guidance and unproductive results. The ********* platform, which was part of the service, was not helpful at all their guidance led to typo-ridden applications and zero job ******** a teacher in *****, I only had until the end of June to find a position otherwise, by state law, I risk losing my teaching license and being unable to work in the state. Despite this urgent timeline, TopResume closed out my application at the end of May, giving me almost no opportunity to utilize the platform. When I contacted them on August 1st, the only thing they offered was a resume rewrite but only if I paid *again* for *********. It feels like a bait-and-switch. Save your money and look elsewhere. Then, I asked to speak with a manager of TopResume. I received the same response - this seems like it is very scripted.Business Response

I paid for a one time service with TOP RESUME, which was completed towards the end of June. I am now being charged almost *****, which appears to be an automatic payment done without my permission or knowledge. The company listed in my ****** statement is WORLDWIDE TALENT. There is no way to find my account on this or any other site.
