After an increase in complaints filed and submissions to BBB Scam Tracker?, BBB of Metro NY began looking into allegations against reported office supply company, IT ADMIN.
Commercial organizations and small businesses tell BBB that IT ADMIN sends an invoice to them, indicating an outstanding bill of varying amounts ($1200-$1900) for toner. These businesses say they have never heard of IT ADMIN before receiving the invoice. Most complainants reportedly understand that invoice is fake but there have been a few instances of firms claiming that the bill was paid without researching the firm.
BBB found no website or email to reach this firm, just a phone number, 800-609-1844, which was obtained from a copy of one of the invoices submitted by complainants. Calling this number connects to a recording which identifies itself only as "Customer Service". BBB found no record of registration of IT ADMIN with the New York Department of State's Division of Corporations.
BBB of Metro NY has made several attempts to contact IT ADMIN to obtain information about their business practices, principals, physical location, but the company has never responded to BBB's inquiries.
The address for this operation, 511 Avenue of the Americas, Ste 506, New York NY 10011, seems to be a mail forwarding service. It is also the same, with the exception of a suite number, to an operation with a very similar name and complaints called IT USA.
