I initially agreed ti pay $1.99 for a week purchase and then $27.88 a month after until I canceled. The link they sent me to set up my account never worked. They assured me that since I never set up the account I would not be charged for anything. I was charged for the $1.99 and $27.88 every month since then. I contacted the company several times and each time they say my account has been canceled and my money will be refunded. I have paid them $420. over 1 year and 3 months and they continue to charge me $27.88. They are unhelpful and lie each time that they are going to stop payments and refund money. I want my $402.00 back and I want them to cancel reoccurring payments now.Initial Complaint

This has been going on for 2 years without my consent and knowing. The company slowly took $1053.00 from me for a FAKE SUBSCRIPTION. When asked for a full refund i was given excuses.Customer Answer

Originally reported issue where card was falsely being billed for services I terminated years ago. Please see below email chain. They refuse to respond despite admitting fault and that I have not used their service in some time. I continue to be billed as well. Please help! It was an advertisement that was on *******. It was a 20 question test to see your IQ. I took the test and then they wanted me to pay for it so I just closed the application. Now every time I sign into my computer, I have all these pop up boxes on my screen from *************. I have gone to their support program and have requested twice, that they stop sending all of the pop up boxes to no avail. In July of 2022, I signed up for a 7-day free trial on the app/game, Brainable. Before the 7 days was up, I cancelled my subscription. I recently found out that I have been charged $30.31 per month for since July of 2022. That comes to $666.82. I contacted the company, **********, ******************** which collects the payments for Brainable. They said I could receive 3 months' worth of refunds. I told them that was not acceptable, and I want all my money refunded. I received 4 months' worth of refunds and was told that was all they could give me. This was all done through their website and email. I'm looking to be paid back for 18 months of deductions to my credit card at $30.31 each.Initial Complaint

It's simply a bait and switch. They advertise a free ** test and then hide the results behind a paywall, so technically the ** test you just spent ***** minutes taking IS free, but it's results are held hostage and, additionally, you have no control over any of the information you've been feeding the company for that time. I forgot all about this terrible experience until I checked my spam folder earlier and realized they've also been sending me multiple emails daily ever since I took that ** test last summer.Customer Answer

Brainable uses misleading marketing and psychological tactics to collect user information and get users to pay for something they didn't intend to.On 10/11/23 at roughly 9:30 PM, I saw an ad on Quora reading, "Avg. ** is 100. What is yours? Answer 20 questions to find out." I followed the link and took the test. The next screen asked me to input personal information, which is something I am used to in those sorts of situations. After collecting my information, the next screen requested payment. The advertisement didn't read "Avg. ** is 100. What is yours? Answer 20 questions, give us your personal information, and pay us to find out." I categorize that as false advertising.This business is capitalizing on test takers who fall victim to the sunk cost fallacy -- after they've spent 20 minutes taking the ** test, they're far more likely to pony up and pay the business, since they've already spent 20 minutes on it.I request that the company delete the information they collected on me (email of **************** or ***************** and phone number of **********), and to change their advertising tactics to something more ethical.Initial Complaint
