Qatar Airways Inhumane Treatment of a 67-Year-Old Senior Citizen and False Promise of Compensation I am filing this complaint against Qatar Airways for their appalling, dishonest, & inhumane treatment during my journey from SFO to HYD on 1517 Oct 2024. I am 67 years old, a senior citizen with serious health conditions including ********************* The manner in which Qatar Airways treated me was nothing short of cruel.Without any prior notice, my flight QR 738 was rescheduled just hours before departure, forcing a 15-hour delay in my final arrival. At both ********************************************** ground staff explicitly assured me that I would receive monetary compensation for the extreme **************** once I completed my journey. After returning home, I filed a formal written complaint on Nov 3, 2024. Qatar Airways responded on Nov 29, 2024, completely refusing to entertain any compensation request. Their reply was rude, cold, & utterly lacking in empathy, not even acknowledging my age or the suffering I endured.During a 9-hour layover in **** & an additional 5-hour layover in ******, I was given only one meal, no lounge or hotel access, and was left sitting on hard benches in visible distress. My arthritis worsened severely. I had to spend USD 50 of my own money on food and basic necessities that Qatar Airways should have provided. Their excusethat the delay was due to geopolitical issueswas a convenient way to avoid accountability for their shocking failure of ******* is outrageous that Qatar Airways would deceive a 67-year-old woman, make false promises of compensation at the airport, & then respond with bureaucratic indifference weeks later. Their behavior is unethical, discriminatory, & deeply unprofessional. I am demanding monetary compensation for the 15-hour delay, physical suffering, and emotional trauma caused by this airlines negligence and dishonesty. I am seeking a refund of $365 due to two distinct service failures involving misinformation from Qatar Airways staff.?First, I was misled by a telephone agent regarding a ticket change. The agent advised me to use a voucher to rebook, promising the new fare would include a one-time penalty-free change. Based on this, I rebooked. I have now been forced to pay a $110 penalty to change my return flight, as the agent failed to disclose that using a voucher would void the free change benefit.?Second, on my flight ***** from ******* (IAH) on September 19, I was incorrectly charged a $255 baggage fee. Qatar Airways' official written policy for US departures allows for one carry-on bag plus one personal item (e.g., a laptop backpack). Your ground staff violated this policy by classifying my personal laptop bag as my only carry-on and forcing me to pay for my actual carry-on luggage.?I filed a formal complaint with Qatar Airways on September 29. bought an airline ticket on 22 feb 23 on my ****************. took the flight in May 23 arriving in ******* to find that they had damaged my suitcase beyond repair. as instructed i filed a baggage claim - ************ and bought a similar quality case so i could take my onward flight to *********. i submitted all the forms and details as soon as able. they advised that $250usd was payable. i chased it only to be told to send all the information again. chased it again months later, over a year after the flight and was told that the amount payable was only $217usd even after i signed the form accepting the $250usd. and asked to send the documents AGAIN. did so and asked for payment asap and in the form of a travel credit. was asked again for the same forms even though submitted three times. It is now 2 yrs 5mnths since i took theflight and still i have not got any compensation for my ruined luggage.Initial Complaint

I took part in a Qatar Airways promotion where if you stayed at a ****** during a designated time period, you would receive 750 miles. Both my husband and I (separately) did this and neither of us were credited. I have contacted Qatar several times but no help was provided. On September 8, 2025, I received a phone call from a Qatar Airways ******************* who wanted to know more information. I told her everything and she responded by saying to email everything to ********************************** to have it taken care of. Scheduled a flight from ***********, ** to ******, ****** (round trip) in September 2025. Had a need to change flight back from ****** due to some matters at home. They want to charge a $450 fee to change from one flight to another (both flights have plenty of seats because we had to make a previous change) and refuse to refund money to cancel the last leg of our return flight schedule, claiming they can't refund 'a portion' of the trip. Maybe this is legally true, maybe it isn't, but their behavior after we spent more than $5,000 USD on our trip is truly unacceptable. They demand that we are penalized more than $1,000 USD for this required change when we need to get our child home and they made multiple nonsense excuses on the phon, telling me three times 'they'll explain their thieving again.'I suppose this is what you expect from the airline thieves that move all around the world. I absolutely love flying Qatar Airways. Everything from the lounges to the flight crew to the experience in **** - I love everything about your company - except the way I'm being treated right now in related to my locked privilege club account.I was told on Tuesday September 15th, about one week ago that my account had been locked. I was requested to send in my passport and driving license to *********************************** After submitting the documents, I received an automated response that my account would be unlocked within 24 hours. After 48 hours, I called and escalated the response. They assured me it would be handled within ***** hours. On Saturday, I called again and was told the team in **** is off as it's their weekend. Now I am still in the same boat - can't access my avios, no one responds to me from your alerts team by email, and still have no idea what's going on.I am not asking for any monetary compensation. I am asking for you to please contact me and explain to me what if anything I did wrong, and allow me steps to correct the issue so I can resume use of my avios and continue making reservations with confidence on my favorite airline. Complaint Summary:Repeated denial of cancellation-fee waiver claim despite medical emergency and multiple submissions.Complaint Details:I am extremely dissatisfied with the customer service I have received from **********************. Despite multiple attempts to resolve my issue, my cancellation-fee waiver claim has been denied or ignored without a clear explanation.I originally booked my tickets through a travel agent. Due to a medical emergency my wife required abdominal surgery just 20 days before our planned travel we had to cancel our trip. We filed a cancellation-fee waiver claim through the travel agent with all supporting medical documentation. The claim was denied without any stated ********* my request, the travel agent attempted to dispute the claim but refused to pursue it further. I then filed the claim directly with Qatar Airways on behalf of both myself and my travel agent. This is now my fourth submission on the same matter. Each time, I receive the same generic response with no evidence that the claim has been properly reviewed.I have submitted all necessary documents multiple times, both via the travel agent and directly. I would accept a denial if a valid reason were provided, but at present I have been given no explanation.I am requesting a thorough review of my claim and a clear explanation of any denial. Mishandling by Qatar Airways at ************** Denied ***************** On August 28, 2024, my family and I were denied boarding on our Qatar Airways flight from ****************************************************** despite arriving in ample time and complying with staff instructions during the check-in process, we were denied boarding. We were forced to purchase a new ticket ($1,346), pay rebooking fees for the connecting flight to ************** ($414.80), and spend additional funds on transportation ($160).This mishandling also caused us to lose two weeks of our planned family vacation due to limited flight availability to ***** at that time. I purchased extra baggage on 8-31-25, i decided i didnt need the extra baggage (my flight isnt until 9-30-25). So i called customer service twice today 9-16-25 to cancel. I was told that baggage fees are not refundable. ($400) mind you. I didnt see anything in writing that extra baggage fees were not refundable, I didnt even receive a receipt from the airlines website. I want my money refunded. Not a credit for future travel. I contacted Qatar Airlines on Sept 16, 2025. I requested a refund of baggage fees in the amount of $400 because i no longer needed the additional baggage, the agent told me the fees were not refundable but i could transfer the fees to another flight in the future. I refused i then asked to,speak with a manager which i never did. The agent got back on the phone and repeated the same thing as previously stated. I have not seen anything in writing concerning non-refundable baggage fees. I did contact my credit card company who said they didnt see anything in writing and the airlines did not respond to them either. My flight didnt leave until the 30th of September, Thank you for your attention to this matter.

For a flight from *** to DOH on July 19, 2025, the airline marketed prepaid internet access for $8 per device. I bought four hoping my family would be able to use them to pass the 15 hour flight. When the flight got underway, I tried to use the codes but kept having technical issues. I asked the flight attendant about it. They were supposedly having trouble with their internet service. She came back to inform me that she had talked to her supervisor who would would issue me a refund. Upon conclusion of the vacation, the refund had not been processed. I have tried to resolve it with customer service several times. One agent had me fill out of form in late August. I did so but never heard from them again despite my reaching out. I tried again and got send a link to submit banking details. After several tries, that link failed (endless loop). I tried to follow-up but got ignored again.Customer Answer
