    March 16, 2025- *** with owner to view venue. Selected the Royal package for $2,500.00. Made $1,290.00 deposit via Zelle . Was provided handwritten receipt. March 18, 2025- Received e-mail of invoice.March 24, 2025- Called owner to cancel the party and requested a full refund. It was during this phone conversation that I was first advised me that deposits are non-refundable. I was never informed of this policy until this phone call. I was never presented with a contract, nor did I sign a contract or agreement. The no-refund policy is not listed anywhere on your website, the receipt or invoice received. Was advised that she needed to speak with her partner and get back to me.March 26, 2025, I called owner to follow up on my refund request. I was informed I will be refunded everything but $500 of my deposition because this is your business policy and it is listed in your terms and agreement. Advised again that I was never informed of the no-refund policy and that I never signed a contract. Owner claimed that we signed an agreement when we met the facility. I requested that the so-called agreement be e-mailed to me-however, to date, I have not received this ************* York State and New York City laws require that all businesses post a refund policy. A business that chooses not to offer refunds must post a sign that states No Refund or words to that effect. Additionally, failure to post a refund policy is a violation of the law. If a business fails to post a refund policy, it must accept a return within 30 days. Businesses offering goods and services, including party venues, must clearly and conspicuously disclose their refund policy before the purchase or service is made.Owner failed to comply with city and state laws; failed to post and disclose her refund policy which is unlawful. Therefore, making her refusal to provide a full refund illegal.Sent e-mail 3/31/25- Advising of violation and requesting a refund of $500.
