My (just turned 18 yr old) son took his car in to be fix due to someone backing into him. When he went to pick up the car, new scratches were on both sides of the vehicle. When my son asked about the new scratches, *********************, owner of Spray Craft, became very defensive, refused to accept any responsibility for new damage that accrued while in their care. He also refused to accept payment with a **** & return the car son, even though posted signs clearly says they accept ****, unless my son wrote a statement on the invoice "I accept all chips and scratches on my vehicle." They pressured and bullied him into signing it before they would let him pay for the car and take possession.

First, this is the disgruntled mom that is writing this complaint and not the son who I dealt with. She wasn't there when the car was picked up, or drives the car in question to know what and what wasn't chipped previously on the car. This vehicle is 12 years old and owned by a teenager that claims somehow we went all the way around his vehicle and placed all types of different chips and scratches everywhere. He would say, "this chip was there, but this one wasn"t", this chip was there, but this scratch wasn't", "these chips were there, but this one wasn't" all the way around the car. Anyone can see, that these were old different variant chips and scratches all the way around the car. We have approximately ***** cars in our shop every week, and I never have anyone complain about a single chip on there vehicle, let alone dozens around a whole vehicle. None of it makes sense. We are in the business of fixing paint, not wrecking paint. If we would have damaged something somewhere, then we are in the type of business that we could and would have fixed it before the customer picked it up.There was chips or scratches on every panel, accept the 2 panels that we painted, which he said looked nice. But somehow we chipped and scratched everywhere else while the car was here, accept where we painted, which is performed several days before the car is re-assembled and detailed, and was also here several days before customer picked the vehicle up. At this time, that would have been over a week, but somehow we avoided chipping the only 2 panels that were painted. Regarding the debit card, I was concerned he would have used it to take the car and then stop payment. So, I told him he would have to pay with cash, or he could use his debit card and sign a statement that he would accept the chips and scratches on the vehicle. Which I would then have some recourse if he tried to stop payment. This was a customer that was trying to get repairs on a vehicle for something we did not do.Please note she is displaying my name in this complaint but I cannot display hers.
