Company installed air conditioners. One unit has had repeated issues, came out 3 times to fix it only for the issue to reoccur. When attempting to contact them to fix it, there was no response. We had to have another company come and fix the unit instead on 7/11/24. While fixing the unit, it was found that the tailpipe was originally installed with two gaskets rather than one, causing it to leak oil. Also, found both AC TXV sensing bulbs were not properly installed, so it wasn't regulating the refrigerant correctly, which was the main issue. Metal straps were found around the air handler which should've been used to hold the bulbs. Instead, they used rubber cheap strap or electric tape, which had melted. They had also told us on 7/4/24 that they filled the refrigerant in the unit but on 7/11/24 it was almost completely empty (which due to there not being a leak in the lines, there should be no reason for there to have been almost none left after only 1 week).

      Business Response

      Date: 08/07/2024

In response to the complaint, the warranty expired 1 year ago in May of 2023. As you can see from the attached document the unit was inspected by the City of ********* in May of 2022 and passed. It has been 2 years since we have been to the home. When our technician performed the leak check on July 4th, 2024, the leak was found at the compression fitting in the attic.
I also understand that they were texting the technician stating they were still having some problems and trying to book another appointment as they have done in the past. However, that is not the technician's job. Yes, he will do it when if he is able, as a courtesy. When they did not receive a response from the technician, why did they not call our office directly? We accept appointment bookings via our website, email, by phone or texting our actual office phone.
Had they booked an appointment through the proper channels, and we were able to make any necessary repairs at that point they would have also received a bill from A & J as well. We had already gone above and beyond by not charging for the May 2024 visit or July 2024.
They were out of warranty and made a choice to use another company, we are not responsible for their pricing or bill.
