We see the reservation was booked less than 48 hours prior to the pick-up time and we were not able to secure a vehicle for you. We do our best to accommodate every rental but sometimes if vehicles aren't returned when they are scheduled, it causes us to be short on vehicles. I completely understand how frustrating and inconvenient this situation has been for you.
Although we realize that we cannot make up for a disappointing experience such as this, we do appreciate your contacting us.

1 starCharged my card $408.00 five months after my rental. The business said the vehicle had a damaged windshield yet refused provide any evidence that the vehicle had actually been damaged. I closed my checking account to prevent them from doing this again. I even purchased supplemental insurance to cover such things, but that made no difference to the hustlers. This company is a criminal enterprise disguised as a car rental company. I recommend people looking to rent a car look elsewhere and only deal with reputable companies.Avis Rent A Car

1 starI rented a car on Nov 9,2023 from Avis in Charlotte. Line was super long and had to wait for 1.5 hours to pick up a dirty car with less than full tank of gas. Only 4 agents available to assist. The car was below the full line when I picked it up. On Nov 10 no one available to check in my car. When I saw my receipt I was shocked to see a fueling charge as I left it with probably a book out 2 more gallons than when received. I called customer service and they credited me back that charge.
However, what Avis/Budget is doing should be immediately investigated. They are charging people for fueling charges and not even bothering to add the fuel. I guarantee that the previous user of that car was charged a significant fueling fee but no fuel was added. Please investigate immediately!Avis Rent A Car

We apologize that your vehicle was issued with less than a full tank of gas. In such an instance, we encourage customers to advise the Avis staff at the rental location so the rental agreement may be notated. Doing so will allow you to return the car at the same fuel level at which you received it without incurring a refueling fee.
We did find a difference of 3.3 gallons from the rental preceding yours and have applied a credit of $10.09 for the difference to your card on file. Please allow 3-5 days for this to reflect on your balance.

1 starI rented a vehicle from **** which was a wreck . I asked to be provided with another vehicle to which I was offered a pick up truck . That is not the same class as a *** 5 series . The *** broke down in ******** . This was the day the car was due to be returned by 3PM . We were told a tow truck would deliver a car with a half hour to one hour . There was an **** location 12 minutes from where we were . Yet 4:15 minutes the tow truck arrived . That is 1:15 PM. **** sent the tow truck from *******. Thats correct the same location that provided the vehicle that broke down took it upon themselves to have us wait 5 hours by the time all was done . We missed our flight leaving ****** . Not only that my wifes ID was in the original vehicle . We had to purchase another pair of one way tickets to ********* . $1400.We went to board but were denied boarding as my wifes ID was left in the vehicle .We had to drive back to ********* **.Out of pocket - $10000 .**** charged me $2208 as a base rate . However vehicles are being advertised for $888 with pick up in ****** and drop off in ********* . Totally scammed .Avis Rent A Car

We show that you ended up keeping the vehicle for 15 days and drove 5,530 KMS during your rental. We show that our Customer Service Team has already refunded $34.47, $278.55, and $847.50 for a total refund of $1,160.52 on your rental.

1 starMy husband was contacted by Sedgwick about “supposed” damage to a vehicle he rented to take Scouts on a big trip. Rental dates July’22 and “claim” date was July’23. Pictures of the damaged vehicle had snow on them and the odometer was 7K+ miles higher then when it was returned (surprise.!! We still had the receipt). You really should follow the example of the kids and Do a Good Turn Daily and not promote fraudulent charges against a nonprofit.Avis Rent A Car

They do not have any real way of solving the issues because there’s not even a way to contact them all the phone numbers lead back to customer service who knows nothing and the staff inside the locations don’t care about helping. 1 starI have rented a car on 11/3/2023 and told the agent about our intentions to droop off at a different location. The initial location selected was Forth Lauderdale but we end up flying from MCO airport just to found that we have a charge of one time fee of $150.00 in addition to $10.00 fee for the changes made . Which is equal to a full day of car rental..I may agreed to pay some reasonable fee but not this ridicule amount. I will have them a -5 but the lowest rate is 1 .Avis Rent A Car

Rate structures are similar to airline pricing; our prices change depending on car availability, location popularity, and many other factors. This is why prices can fluctuate on a minute-to-minute basis. Unless it’s an advertised special offer, there generally isn’t one set rate for a particular type of car, but rather a range of prices depending on the length and dates of your reservation. Even with special offers, the advertised rate usually applies to a limited supply of cars which varies daily by make and model at each location.
A reserved rate at one location would not be guaranteed at another location and we would provide the next available rate for your use. Although we realize that we cannot make up for a disappointing experience such as this, we do appreciate your contacting us.

1 starAbsolutely awful!!!!! I prepaid and booked an 8 seater xl car for my family’s first Disney trip on Christmas. Our flight was a nightmare with delays and I should have just been able to get the car from the lot. I was a preferred member and prepaid. But nope. Pregnant I waited for 3.5 hours from 2-530am while my husband spent money on a taxi for our other 3 kids. Finally when it was my turn in line they said my car wasn’t ready and they cohmd give me soenthing else. I said no a 5 seater won’t work. They said they cohmd give me a 15 person passenger van. I said no. Finally they found me a mini van but I had to wait for it to get cleaned. Got to my rental house at 630am and had to be up at 7 for our Disney reservation and plans. I fought with them over this and got a free 3 day voucher. It was only for a sedan which was also an issue as why wouldn’t it be for the same car I was supposed to have for my trip? Went back and forth for a long time. Ended up only taking my baby on a trip for a wedding so a sedan would work. Booked with the voucher. My flight was going to be earlier, and I was unable to change the pick up time since I had a voucher. So once I landed they said it wasn’t ready. They told me I could have an upgraded car. I said no I only want what my voucher would cover. My cute baby smiled at the woman and she said “you know what I’ll upgrade you for free”. And I confirmed my voucher would still cover this car. And I wouldn’t be responsible for anything else. She said yes. So I said Ok thank you. Now I have a $298 charge and am trying to fight it. They said my voucher was applied but I had to cover the new price bc of the upgrade. I would have waited if I was going to be charged. They are the absolute worst!!!!!!!!Avis Rent A Car
