During the signup process with the organization, I was assured that the company would handle all aspects of selling my timeshares and that I would receive a refund for the amounts that I paid in maintenance fees. I did not receive a check - when I called to determine the status, I was told to send copies of the deeds and maintenance fees invoices. I did this immediately, and then waited for the check. 6 weeks later I was informed that I would have to secure reservations at each of the properties and wait ****** days after the stay was complete to receive the payment. Had I known the complex process to receive reimbursement, I would not have signed up for their services. And, it was the promise of the maintenance fee refund that made the charged amount appear more reasonable - I would not have spent $7000 if I had been informed at the time that this process required multiple steps on my part to ensure that payment was made. I was hoping to sell my timeshares to relieve extra burden from my life, not to add additional burden as this is doing.I will appreciate any assistance that you can provide.

I received a call from SMTN, **** *****, because I had asked for information to sell my timeshare on April 22, 2024. **** stated that SMTN had just sold a similar timeshare last month for $18,000 and suggested I sell mine for $16,500. I kept reassuring him that this is really how it works because it sounded to good to be true. He stated he would think it would see by June because that is a very busy month since people are on vacation with kids being out of school. He said it is cheaper to pay the closing costs up front, in which I thought was the $2498 but it actually included their advertising costs. I kept emailing asking if I had any offers and he kept saying to adjust the price and so I did. I also emailed him twice stating that I was not happy with being misled and asked for a refund. I never received an email or phone call until I let them know I was going to contact my attorney to see how to move forward on March 4, 2025. I then received a phone call saying they would boost my ad and hopefully I would get an offer. There was no communication so I requested a full refund. It was sent to management. The agent called an said management would have an answer by March 17. Never heard back until March 24, 2025 and she promised a resolution before Wednesday March 26, 2025. I never heard back. I called and left messages and never heard back. I have all the dates for phone calls and emails.

    Customer Answer

    Date: 04/05/2025

The manager's name that had contacted me on March 24, 2025 is **** ******.  She had given me her direct phone number if I had any questions. When I called that phone number she gave me it was a general customer service number. Therefore I looked back at the phone number she had called from, ************** and it was here direct number and I had left a message for her and she never called back.

I am very disgusted how I was misled by the sales pitch.  Looking at other comments on the internet, this is a normal action for SMTN. I told **** ****** that I am requesting a full refund for $2498 and she was supposed to review the case and get back to me.  Very disappointed.

I entered into an agreement with SMTN on May 9, 2024. I have 2 primary concerns. First, what their salespersons are suggesting as a starting listing price, and what these these timeshares are actually selling for, I feel, is criminal false advertising. They hide behind a smoke screen of saying that they never really know what they sell for because that goes through a third party brokerage service. They should be very clear in their sales pitch that what they think is a reasonable asking price is based solely on the average of what is currently listed on their website. This creates a conflict in interest in that the higher they can get you to set your initial listing the higher the average will be for the the next buyer who comes along.Second, I felt that they were creating an agent/seller relationship. Similar to a real estate transaction. When in fact, this is simply a hosting site. When I have called on several occasions on advice on how to get this seen or sold (I have not had a single message yet), the only I advice I am given is to lower the price.Side note: What sold me on this service is the the number of visits to the website. It was very impressive. When I thought about it later, what they conveniently don't have the "numbers" on is who is visiting to buy and who is visiting to sell. Sadly, I feel it is the later. I think this company should be investigated and made to produce results for how many properties are actually getting sold and they sales price.I am requesting full refund for false advertising and creating a false sense of a fiduciary relationship.

In September of 2019 I paid SellMyTimeShareNow $999 to list and sell my 'timeshare' with BlueGreen. Not only have they not done any legwork on getting it sold, they simply have not communicated with me AT ALL about the status of my timeshare or any attempts to make good on our agreement. I have sent numerous customer service messages, none of which went answered. ONE message I sent was requesting to change the list price, which they never responded to but did change the list price, so I KNOW they are seeing my messages.

We appreciate Ms. ***** sharing her concerns and our Customer Solutions team has reached out to her directly to review her account and address her concerns. We regret that she experienced difficulty in reaching us in the past and continue to work to improve the service level to all of our clients. After review of the file so far, we see that any messages sent to us have been responded to with a phone call and/or email. We do understand that Ms. ***** only wishes to communicate with us via the BBB or email and are happy to do so; however, based on the information provided, she is unfortunately ineligible for a refund. As she does not qualify for a refund, we are unfortunately unable to fulfill her request. We encourage Ms. ***** to contact our Customer Solutions team at her earliest convenience so that we can discuss her account and she can share any additional information she may have.

While we welcome the opportunity to publicly address our clients concerns through the BBB, we always recommend our clients first reach out to our ************************ at ************** before filing a complaint as we are confident we can address our clients' concerns and ensure a positive outcome.

I do not accept the business's response as a resolution to my complaint because:

SMTN refuses to work with me via email and did not provide the regulation or guideline that precludes them from doing so. They also did not list or provide  qualifications that list how refund requests are handled, or exactly why I was rejected. Not having me on the phone is an insufficient reason, and it would never hold up in a legal setting.

Again, I will not do business on the phone with them precisely because they do not give clear and concise information. They are welcome to email me or use the **** to communicate.

I do not accept the business's response as a resolution to my complaint because: They have not rendered sufficient service or provided consistent communication over the past years. They decline to issue a refund based on their policy, which I was FINALLY able to get a copy of after multiple requests (See attached email).

They assured me from the beginning, that even having a non-physical property, and only having 'points' with the timeshare (Bluegreen), wouldn't matter. That someone would still be very interested. Five years later, and I have receive NO VALUE.

    Sincerely,

On 2/2/2023, I entered an agreement with Sell My Timeshare Now to sell my Timeshare unit for $25,000. I paid $1,998.00 and was assured it would sell and close within a couple of months. After more than 2 years, numerous price reductions and countless listing refresh attempts, there have not been any offers. I was told in an email by a company representative on 2/28/25 that the property is worthless and there are the same types selling for $1.00.

I do not accept the business's response as a resolution to my complaint because: I received a phone call from ****** *****, Mgr of Sell My Timeshare Now on 3/18/2025 at 3:10 pm ET. She apologized for the issues, said she would update the sales listing, and send a release in order for me to receive $500 as an apology. She continued that she would follow up with me in 2 weeks. I have not heard back from her; however, I did receive a release which was not in my best interest so I did not sign the electronic document. The release contained language that would have forbidden me from pursuing the complaint any further AND $500 is their apology. I desire a full refund in the amount of $1,999 which I paid to the company on 2/3/2023 as a fee to sell my timeshare. My condo has been listed with SMTN for over 2 years with absolutely no offers. A full refund is requested.

The transaction occurred on November 15th 2024.I saw an advertisement for the sale of Timeshares. I called the number and spoke to an individual who said she represented a company known as SMTN (Sell my time share now) . She referred me to a salesman by the name of ***** ******** *************) x 2246. He was very nice and told me I could get around $14,000 for my timeshare and he would also pay the maintenance fee if I would pay the sum of $3900.00 for the advertisement. My maintenance fee is $******* for the year. I thought wow, I could get $14,000, minus the 3900 and minus ******* for the mainenance fee and that would leave me $8600.00. I knew how hard it is to sell a timeshare but he said it would go fast because it was located on the big island and was a week exchange and not a point exchange. It sounded wonderful but what he did not tell me was I had to put my timeshare on the market as a rental. I sent the money but ask for something in writing. He said to send him the money and he would send the paperwork which he did but it a welcome letter. When I found out I had to rent out my timeshare (the final paperwork. I realized that I had already banked it with *** so I ask for a refund. That was 3 months ago. Then I found out I could cancel within 10 days and he told me it was too late. However, I send him an email well before the the 10 days which he responded to. Anyway, the company promissed to refund my money but nothing has happened. Even Mr. ******** told me on the 2nd of this month that he thought the money had been refunded. I did speak to ****, a supervisor, who said she was working on it but nothing has happened. I have read reviews of the company and it seems to be legitimate but saw a lot of complaints. I feel so stupid as I don't fall for all the scams out there. Thank you, Mrs. ********

    Clarification on complaint #*********A998

The details on my problem with the Sell My Timeshare Now,LLC Company is that after I sent them their fee to list my timeshare I never got any results and communication with them became difficult.
The salesman promised that selling Wyndham points would be easy. He appeared very familiar with my timeshare, and indicated that many of his customers had success selling ********************** points. When I later tried to communicate with the company I found no indication that any of this was true.
I also see that this company has many similar complaints. I would like my money back because they do not appear to have any evidence that they are a legitimate company.

On March 3, 2023 I entered into a contract with SellMyTimeshareNow to sell my timeshare. They agreed to help sell the property and also cover the annual maintenance fee until the property sold. As it was explained to me, they would be actively helping me sell it, be available for questions or provide guidance on the sale price. In exchange, they would be able to 'rent' my timeshare to others until the property sold. Since that time, they have been unreachable. Every time I call I'm either left on hold or transferred from one call center agent to another and eventually hung up on. In December 2024 I received notification from a law firm representing my timeshare letting me know I was in default and facing foreclosure because the maintenance fee was never paid. I can't get ahold of anyone at SellMyTimeshareNow to understand what happened or to even cancel the membership. I paid them $5,138 to sell my timeshare and an additional $3136.97 to the get my timeshare out of arrears.

However, they have failed to refund me my money.  In the meantime, the small claim court of New Hampshire has ruled that they need to pay me back my fees and the legal costs (attached). Which is further evidence of bad faith.

On July 6, 2023 I entered into an agreement with SMTN, LLC to sell a time share in the **********, MA that I purchased with a friend many years ago. She is aging and we don't use the timeshare any longer and want to sell it. We purchased it for approximately $4,500. We listed it at $3,000. I have dropped the price three times, and have now suggested just giving it ******* spite of repeated requests and outreach attempts to SMTN, I am being ignored and there has been no action or movement toward a sale. The maintenance fees are coming due and will cost more than any sale of this unit. I simply want to not own it any longer - not looking to make money, or pay any more money in the form of dues. All I want is for SMTN to complete what they committed to doing. If they can't, I want a full refund, plus the cost of the maintenance ($1,200) given that it has been 17 months with no movement. I appreciate any help in resolving this matter.
