I had money fraudulent withdrawn from an account out of state. I was told I was getting a call from the security fraud department. Nobody called me now I have to sit here and wait for a whole three days until someone can help me with the provisional credit because now I can’t pay my rent or my child support or my medical bills because service credit union nobody called me. I’ve had this account for 17 years when I join in the military and now I have a deposit going in every month and I’ve been doing that forever and now some reason they just decided to not give me a call back. The manager on the phone told me that they have so many people calling that it comes in as the orders received, even though the person who originally took my complaint and my dispute, told me someone would call me by the end of next business day. I had a literally wait until the end of the day to call somebody because I was trying to be patient and let them do their job but nope nobody called me now I have to wait until Monday. This is the most ridiculous process for a banking company that I’ve ever come across they’ve literally just pushed my account to the side after $3000 was taken out of my account from another state fraudulently. Aside from that they are completely outdated and their application causes problems every month. I am done with this bank now I have to wait till Monday to even get a call back about my money that’s missing.Service Credit Union Response

We appreciate your patience and understand your concerns. We want to assure you our fraud department takes all claims seriously and launches an investigation for each claim received. Considering the complexity involved in a fraud clam these matters are not typically resolved immediately, often requiring coordination with outside entities, not open 24 hours a day, to request documentation including receipts and video footage to assist with making a determination. While we regret any inconvenience caused, we assure you that we are committed to resolving this matter thoroughly. If they have not been already, our Fraud department will be in touch with more information. We encourage you to contact our fraud department at 800-936-7730 with any questions. Thank you for your understanding during this process.Review from Walter M

Service won't allow deposit payroll checks, Mobile app is denying all.. I've been a member for years and received no notice of any changes. If there are and without notice this is an absolute insult to all customers showing no consideration for working families or others that just can't go the the physical bank to make deposits only when the mobile app is denying payroll deposits. FYI scams are taking $ out not putting in. They are obviously trying to push out low volume accounts for corporateService Credit Union Response

Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention. We understand the frustration you’re experiencing with the mobile app’s denial of payroll check deposits. There are certain requirements for using the mobile deposit service such as having the words “For Remote Deposit Only” written on the back of each check. These requirements are provided on the screen when engaging the remote check deposit service online or through the mobile app. If a check is deposited without completing the requirements, it may be rejected during the review process. We understand the importance of clear communication and would like to assure you that emails are sent to the address on file explaining any rejection. If you have not received such an email or if you have further questions about the usage instructions for the remote check deposit service, please don’t hesitate to contact us directly at 800-936-7730. We value your membership and apologize for any inconvenience causedReview from Jennifer J

This is feedback for their personal loan process. I was approved for a loan but could not move forward because the Membership Review group failed to verify my employment and identity. I provided pay stubs from the State of California where I’ve worked for over 10 years and all other requested documents to verify identity. To disapprove my application without even outreach to re-confirm other documents to prove identity seems like an unfair practice. This was a complete waste of time and there should have been more transparency in the process up front. Their loan process and membership was completely misleading. I felt that the Review group rushed my review just to get through it without thorough consideration.Service Credit Union Response

Back in November I got scammed . I got this check from someone the do a cleaning job and went and cashed at the bank. The bank than cashed it for me. a week went bye and the cleaning was coming up. the day of the cleaning came and I went to get gas and my card was declined . I know that there was money in there. so I checked on my online banking and it said that I was negative almost 3,000.00 dollars. I started to freak out. I called the bank and let them know what was going on. they shut down my account and had someone call me from their fraud department so I told them what happened and they said that theirs noting they could do. Which I thought was not right. I mean they cashed the check. and than took the money out for my account. which don't think is right . again they looked at the check and cashed. I've called and talk too several people and still they wont do the right thing and fix my account. I have had this bank for 10 or more years. And this is how there treat there customer's. so there fraud department is a joke . just a few weeks before charismas. and now they want me to pay off the negative balance . we didn't ever get to have a charismas for us and our kid and family. So Don't USE THIS BANK> THIER FRAUD PROTACTION IS A JOKE> AS WELL AS THIS BANK!!!Service Credit Union Response

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you’re experienced. We understand the frustration caused by being the victim of a job scam and the associated fraudulent cashier’s check. As a precautionary measure, we always advise our members not to cash or deposit checks from unfamiliar sources due to potential risks. Regarding the negative balance, unfortunately, it would be up to the member to redeposit the cash withdrawn to resolve the issue as the credit union has no connection to any subsequent transactions you may have entered with those funds. The credit union would also be willing to work out a payment arrangement to address any remaining negative balance. If you would like more information on those options, please reach out to us at 800-936-7730.Review from Tiffany M

Horrible resolution services. They treat their clients like they're the criminals when disputing fraudulent charges.... Tried blocking cards online, cannot access the cards on the app, it times out. ( yes, app has been updated, Uninstalled, and reinstalled. Called to do so, rude, no resolution.... 18 years of business down the toilet. Going elsewhere for my banking needs personally, and for my business account. ??Service Credit Union Response

I am disturbed and highly disappointed by this credit union. Since taking a loan with them I have had nothing but issues: Double payments taken without consent, erroneously charged with late fees and representative payment fees. Steer clear of this credit union, they're frauds.Review from Lorrie R

There were two unauthorized charges on my account from the the same place overseas. It took two hours on the phone and talking to seven different representatives from service credit union just to cancel that card. They said they would credit the charges, but they didn’t which I found out after being on the phone again for another hour with their incompetent representatives. They “disputed” the charges but the charges are still there and I’m being treated like I made these overseas charges. They didn’t even catch the Europe based charges, although I’m in the US. In 25 years of banking I’ve never had a bank not credit me back after obviously fraudulent charges.Service Credit Union Response

We apologize for the time spent trying to get in contact with us. While we try to keep waiting times as low as possible, they can vary based on call volume and the needs of other callers. The credit union does offer the ability to fully control your debit or credit card as well as initiate a dispute through both the online and mobile banking platforms to avoid calling if that better fits your needs. The timeframe in which a dispute is handled depends on existing volume and the complexity of the dispute. Our goal is to process these claims as quickly as possible, but we do inform all members as we did on your call that it can take up to 10 business days for the initial investigation and potential provisional credit to be provided and up to 90 days for the dispute to be fully completed, all of which are federally established timeframes. Between the time of your dispute and the date provisional credit was issued was only 5 calendar days. At the conclusion of the investigation, you will also be notified of the outcome. We hope this provides some insight into how transaction disputes are handled. If you have any further concerns or questions, please feel free to contact us.Review from Tosha H

Service is by far the worst bank we’ve dealt with. Our account is constantly being compromised by scams and theft. Their fraud department is uncaring and very slow in response. We can’t wait to get our money back and change banks.Service Credit Union Response

The worst lender ever. Since financing my motorcycle with them I have had issues with their payment system not taking my payment. Whether trying to pay through the online portal or over the phone, no matter which account it will not process my payments. Made my first payment over the phone, person confirmed it went through. Two weeks later the money still had not left my account. I called and the person I spoke with said it looked good on their end and the payment was processed. Two weeks later I get a call that I was 30 days past due and needed to make my payment. I explained everything that occured to that point, I attempted to make my payment over the phone using two different accounts and the payment would not go through. I asked the rep if this would get reported to the credit bureaus and she said it shouldn't because for 30 days the payment looked good and then it was reversed. I was able to make the payment throuh the portal several days later. And I still ended up with a late payment on my credit report. I have been trying to pay my current payment for weeks with no luck. My portal was wiped out. Loan removed, payment accounts gone. Had to set it all back up and I still can't make payments. I get more idiots on the phone who can't figure out why my payments won't process. The most recent moron emailed me saying that first payment was reversed because customer advised it was unauthorized. What? How is that possible when I made the payment over the phone? And she attaches a form to fill out to set up ACH payments and said once it's filled out my payments will process. Umm, I never called about setting up ACH payments you ******* ****! Smh. This is the worst lender I have ever dealt with.Review from Dee P

I attempted to make two purchases with my debit card, in my home state and city, and was flagged as "suspected fraud". It's been 3 days and I haven't had a single email, text, or call to confirm these transactions. What if there HAD been fraud!?!? I would have never known. The agent I just reached was on a power trip. Demanded the full card number in order to help me, knowing he only needs social, zip code, etc. I was able to get through to another agent, but this dude acted like he needed the full card number. The agent that helped me said I needed to set up the type of text alerts I wanted to receive. That should not be the case when it comes to fraud. Any other REPUTABLE institution will alert you immediately if it's suspected fraud. Overall, my experience has been disappointing and after reading the reviews, I'm not surprised.Service Credit Union Response

Hello,
We apologize for the confusion this situation has caused. Upon reviewing your account we found that your debit card has not yet been activated which is why your attempted purchases weren’t processed. In order to activate your card, please call **************. We want to assure you that the credit union has fraud monitoring in place that will detect and notify members of fraudulent transactions. Because your card was inactive it didn’t trigger any alert requirements. We hope this information clears up any concerns you may have and encourage you to contact us at ************** if you have any further questions.
