Said business Certified Auto has had my vehicle since May 2022. Went in for a state inspection some issues where found and I agreed to have them done like tune up and something else. Car was put aside and not worked on for a while then finally got work done and then they said car won't start. They believed something chewed thru wires and then said needed a harness so I waited weeks passed and they said they were trying to find one on eBay. Then they said it was not that then send car to ******** dealer to have a diagnostic test done that they said they would pay for . Now car has been there since June and now received call from ******** saying Certified Auto told them they "wash there hands of the car" and ******** was wondering what and who was going to pay for the car sitting there since June 2022. Please help me for I feel this is not right. I feel they should pay ******** and not leave it to me, since they were the ones who sent it there, not me.

the vehicle above was brought in on 5/12/22 for a state inspection. during the inspection we noticed a few things wrong with the vehicle and made the customer aware of the known issues. the car had failed state inspection for a check engine light that was on due to the car misfiring and a drive shaft that was loose. we had given the customer a quote for the repairs needed and got an approval to preform the work need. upon calling around for parts one of the parts, the driveshaft, was back ordered and there was a wait time of 3-4 weeks. a call was made to the customer letting them know the wait time on the driveshaft. after receiving the driveshaft. when we received the driveshaft the car was brought back in to finish the repairs. as we pulled the vehicle back into the shop we noticed the car wasnt running right and misfiring again after tune up was already done. we went ahead and called the customer and told about the issue we were having and that we would figure out what was going on with it at no additional cost to them. upon further inspection of the vehicle we had thought there was a broken wire somewhere throughout the wiring harness and we call the customer and let them know we would replace the harness at no cost to them seeing as the issue occurred while in our custody. after many failed attempts at trying to find the correct harness for this vehicle we opted to send the vehicle to the dealership to have them try and figure out what was going on with vehicle. the dealership was backed up and that was communicated with the customer and we had told them that we will be paying for the diagnostics at the dealer with no cost to them. after a month or so we finally received a call back from the dealer informing us that the vehicle needed a timing chain replaced and thats what was causing the vehicle to misfire. we told the dealer we would pay for the diag time for figuring out what was wrong with the car. the told us it would cost north of $3000 to fix the issue but we declined to have them fix that issue as it would be much more cost affective for us to do the work needed here. the timing chain issue was not something that was caused by us but due to an internal issue in the motor. we had offered to help them out by reducing the cost to fix what was needed. we have not charged them anything as of now for any of the work that was already done to the vehicle or received any payment for said repairs. we felt bad that they were experiencing these issues and did not plan on charging them anything unless they wanted us to preform more work to the car. we are still willing to help them by any means to get them back on the road and happy.
