On August 9, I went to the store needing my meta quest 2 oculus' charging port fixed, there was nothing else wrong with it & they told me it was going to cost $160, the guy from back even came out with a different MQ2 & showed me why it'd be so expensive to fix, he opened it & explained they r very complicated to work on & I asked him what the problem was with the 1 he had in his hand was, he said it needed a new motherboard. They said they needed a $50 deposit & told me itd take 3 1/2-4 weeks to complete. So I agreed. On August 22 I received a text that my repair was completed. Shocked it was done so soon, I explained I didn't get paid until the following Wed., that I could get it then. On Aug 28 I went to pick it up and paid the remaining $110.50 the guy brought it out to me & said that it was good to go, that everything else seemed to be in tact & I left. When I got home I put it on & the screen was totally frozen, I couldn't get it to find the controllers or anything, aug 29 I went back to the store & asked what the problem was, they took it to the back & then came back out and asked if it was ok to fo a factory reset, I of course said yes, otherwise, it wasn't doing anything at all, after i sat for over a half hour, the girl finally came back & told me exactly this, "unfortunately there's nothing we can do, it seems u need a new motherboard, which normally would cost $250, but since u would be a repeat costumer & ur awesome, we would only charge u $150, or u can try reaching out to meta & see if they can help since it's a known issue." I took my oculus & left. I went home, got on meta's website & the community forums & I didn't find any that complained of needing a new motherboard. Now I'm reaching out to bbb hopefully u can help. I got the MQ2 over Christmas last year it was $200, it seems wrong that ubreakifix now wants me to pay 300 for repairs when it's not even worth that much, also, I can't afford to pay them 160 for something I can't even use. Please.
