Kidde no longer caries wireless units that are interconnected, i.e., talk to each other. So now I have a defective unit and the replacement they send will not interface with the others, meaning I should let that part of the house burn down until one of the interconnected units goes off which will then set-off the unit in the master bedroom. Kidde churns and changes their products CONSTANTLY, causing customers to replace alarms well before they need to. I will never do business with this company again, plus they have toilet bowl level customer reviews...how do they manage to stay in business?

I purchased 5 of these 13 months ago on ******. I thought I will pay the extra for Lithium battery alarm so I won't have to get up and down a ladder changing batteries. Boy was I mistaken. I'm 70 yrs old so I can't really be going up and down ladders. The five ************** Monoxide detectors cost me $262.55 plus $125 to have ************ far three have malfunctioned in 13 months beeping and yelling fire during the night. I removed them and contacted the Amazon seller who referred me to Kidde who manufactured them which makes sense until I contacted Kidde. There is a 10 yr stamped right on the alarm. Here is what Kidde customer service wrote me " To assist with troubleshooting, what rooms in your home are the units located in? Are the units located near a fan, vent, bathroom or window? How often do you clean the alarms as nuisance alarms particularly in the middle of the night, are caused by something interfering with the sensor. These units are looking for particles of combustion, so when a small insect or piece of dust gets into the sensor, the unit will interpret this as smoke particles."I have had battery operated Smoke Detectors in my house for 35 years and never had this issue unless the battery was dead.THEY WANT ME TO GET ON A LADDER AND CLEAN INSECT AND DUST PARTICLES OUT OF THE ALARM????No offer of replacement even with the 10yr warranty. Do yourself a favor and buy your non Kidde alarms at **********. You can return them to **********.

I purchased 5 of the smoke/carbon monoxide detector and indoor air quality. The unit constantly gives false alarms. I have contacted **************** on numerous occasions. They do not return calls, there customer service is terrible. I have to wait 15 days for a replacement when constantly receiving false alarms. I will never purchase a product from them ever again

Reviews for their smoke detector products include several that are from influencers that receive free product to provide reviews. Reviews from these influencers are all four and five stars. While these reviews do clearly state "INCENTIVIZED" and "Received Free Product", it is dangerous to include influenced reviews like this. Especially when you read the reviews that are apparently from non-influenced customers. For example, almost all of the non-influenced reviews for the SAR20 smoke detector (***************************************************************************************************) are complaints about faulty products.

Although they honored the warranty and ***laced a faulty alarm, the customer service *** was arrogant and condescending. I hope I never have to call back again.

It took me two months and 12 emails and phone calls to get them to provide authorization to return failed radio active units. They resist, make it hard, confusing and misleading. They encourage citizens to throw them away. Poor fundamentals and poor customer service.

What were they thinking when developing these smoke detectors???I am in a new development where these detectors are installed in every room. A few times, they have randomly gone off, usually in the middle of the night, such as last night. The screeching alarm, the LOUD "FIRE, FIRE, FIRE," and the BLINDING flashing lights cause incredible stress and panic, not to mention not being able to see with the flashing lights.Last night, when the alarm went off, I could barely find the door to my bedroom and slammed into the door frame. I was unable to find my child's room and fell down the stairs as I was unable to navigate where I was BECAISE I COULDN'T SEE ANYTHING. These alarms are counter intuitive and dangerous and should be off the market. It is so dangerous to be panicked and blinded in a house fire. These smoke detectors should be banned and recalled.

Horrible!!!!! Have the hardwired. Professionally installed by electrical contractor. About 6 months after installation they randomly started going off for no reason. Contractor came out twice, did resets, still problems. Came out again and replaced all with brand new alarms. Continued problems. Going off multiple times daily and nightly for no reason. This is absolutely ridiculous
