Our title company has attempted to get a payoff on the *** filing but the company is not responding and it's holding up the sale of the property. The contractor who filed the notice of commencement is failing to provide us with a final contractor affidavit. The sale is being held up and it's going to cost the customers more money to delay closing. They are being reported to the proper authorities.Business Response

On approx March 18, 2025, my solar system (which was installed by Palmetto Solar in *****) was not operating at it full capacity. The system got weaker and weaker and it eventually stopped working all together. I contacted Palmetto Solar and spoke with *** ***, a customer service representative. I told him if my concerns and wish to have someone to come out and look at my system. Apparently, there was some confusion as to the servicing of which I had to pay ****** prior to anyone coming to look at my system. Approximately a week later, I made payment to palmetto. Approximately two weeks ago, I spoke with *** *** and he promised someone would be out to troubleshoot last week. No one has shown up to my house to check out my solar system. My system has not been operating for a month and a half now and I have a contract with **** for the sale of my electricity. **** said that my system is under producing what is stated in My contract. They said I could be made to repay the amount that I am short of. I told them of my situation as well as *** ***. At no fault of my own, this system keeps failing and costing me out of pocket. Im requesting that you investigate this company and obtain resolution as well as restitution of money I have paid. NOTE: This is my 2nd complaint about this company when it comes to troubleshooting cost and repair!Business Response

"LightReach and Palmetto employee ****** ****** gave us false information. If she told us the truth we would never agree to the terms of this contract. She lied about the tax credit, claiming that we could claim the solar panels. She also said we could take the panels with us if we moved, which was another lie. We didnt even know we were entering into a lease. She told us we could cancel our contract if we didnt want the solar panels any more. We informed her that we were moving before we received the panels, and she claimed that the panels would help increase the house value and make it easier to sell the house. Now they are holding our house for ****** because no one wants to take over this awful 25-year contract. Its either pay them $50,000, or we cant sell our house. LightReach and Palmetto are both predatory companies. DO NOT LEASE!!!"Business Response

Creo es la tercera vez que me quejo con palmetto solar y me presento ante ustedes, para solicitar ayuda, est vez es referente a un reembolso ofrecido por la representante de la empresa ante mi, su nombre es ********* ********, a **** le expuse que aceptara cerrar el caso anterior con tal que me cumplieran ya que yo haba cumplido con los requerimientos de ellos como cortar un rbol ******* de mi patio trasero, alegando que con su sombra tapaba los paneles, rbol que estaba ah cuando vinieron a inspeccionar para instalarlos, incurri en $3,500 de gastos para eso aparte de los $500 y algo que ya haba pagado a peco por consumo por el fallo y los $220 que pago fijo a goodleap por el prstamo, hace ** de un ao espero el reembolso por consumo ofrecido por la srita. ******** y solo me han enviado unas propuestas (anexas) para eximirlos de responsabilidad y cualquier comentario o queja que yo pueda tener, a lo que me niego firmar. The General Release of Claims that was attached outlines that we are offering compensation for production loss during the time service delays occurred when needing to correct the connection issue. The customer shared concerns regarding the terms of the release, we provided reassurance on several occasions that any future claims will be reviewed on their own merits, and the release is pertaining to the specific situation relating to the delays with service. We expressed our understanding to the customer's decision to refrain from signing and advised that it is our policy to have a release signed before we can provide compensation. We reassured that our offer still stands if and when they reconsider.
The customer's previous complaint #******** was closed as resolved when we agreed to cover the costs of the service visit and addressed the connection issue at no cost to the customer. ********************** made them aware that shading from the tree could be affecting their production, but we did not make the request for the tree to be removed. The customer made the decision to remove the tree that was providing squirrels access to the roof which could potentially lead to squirrel damage in the future.
We advised the customer that there is a Goodleap financing loan in place and for this reason the contract cannot be cancelled.

La perdida de produccion ocurrio y mientras y estuve pagando fielmente a la **** de electricidad (peco), sin retraso y ya tengo un *** esperando el tal reembolso de US$590.00. Su oferta de compensacion viene con un insulto y a mi ver una falta de respeto, me explico, estan utilizando su propuesta de reembolso para casi exigirme acepte no mencionar ni en bien ni en mal a Palmetto y eximirlos ante cualquier responsabilidad ( se *** ***** en los documentos anexos), razon por la cual no acepte firmar, cuando me hablan por telefono ofrecen y aseguran otro compromiso que no figura en los documentos, legalmente lo valido es lo escrito, acordado y firmado, no lo hablado y las palabras cambian, asi no puedo aceptar, lo siento. La misma situacion pasa con lo del arbol, informaron e insistieron que debia ser cortado por la sombra y las ardillas, ahora dicen que solo fue informacion, pero como no esta escrito... No estoy solicitando reembolso por los gastos del arbol, solo espero obtener el reembolso de US$590.00 ofrecido por ellos sin los requerimientos actuales de no expresarme y no tener responsabilidad, porque ellos me deben. En cuanto al contrato, lo que entiendo es que no quieren devolver a Goodleap el dinero recibido porque ya ganaron y quieren ganar mas, al no tener responsabilidad de reparacion ante el cliente.Mi respuesta: No acepto firmar nada que tenga intencion de quitar mi derecho a expresarme si no se me cumple, ademas deben mantener la garantia de reparacion por si futuros fallos y debe estar por escrito tal cual.

Our resolution offer was agreed upon based on the timeline the customer first contacted us for service through the time that the system issues were addressed. The customer was aware that we do not reimburse for utility bills and that compensation amount is based on the production lost during the time service was needed.
We have attached an updated General Release of Claims for the customer's review. We have included additional verbiage stating that any future claims will be reviewed on their own merits as expressed to the customer via email and phone.

I started having solar issues in July 2024 but I did not notice it until I receive my August bill for $127.77 but it was summer so i figured we used more energy for the A/C unit. Normally, I would pay *********** ***** a month which is their base fee for solar connection. Then I received the next bill and it was for ******. My 1st contact to Palmetto was 10/29/2024. I tried rebooting based on their instructions. The reboot instructions were for a newer model solar system. I called and emailed over several days. The technician was scheduled for 12/17/2024. He could not repair it. They had to order an inverter. So, the new inverter was installed in Jan 13, 2025. I made a request for reimbursement the same day. **************** emailed me o. 2/16/2025 that they will work on the reimbursement since loss of production.That inverter did not last a day. It imploded and blew a hold in the new inverter that was just installed. So they ordered another inverter and it was installed 2/11/2025. Someone sent me an invoice o. 2/12/2025 for $360 so when I called to ask about the reimbursement, I mentioned the invoice and was told they did not know about an invoice. I was confused. Who was I paying? Days later I received a copy of the invoice, which I paid through my bank bill pay because I was skeptical about the situation. I received several emails with the same invoice after my check was cleared. I responded with date it was cleared. Still i received another invoice. Oh, and I have not heard from the customer service or anyone concerning reimbursement. The last call I made I was told someone will call me because he could not help me. I am still waiting to hear from anyone at Palmetto. My solar was not working for 8 months. I was paying my loan payments and electric payments the entire time. I paid ****** in March 2025. I have asked over and over again with no response to, what is the process to request a reimbursement. I have heard nothing.Business Response

Palmetto solar has no techs to repair solar system if they fail to operate properly. It took them 6 months to repair a network card on the solar edge inverter to my system. This installer ***** that works for Palmettto (Lightreach) is a scamming, lying little entitled punk! The only way I was able to get their attention was to stop the autopay feature, from my checking account they demanded when signing me up! Now I get a bill and they are trying to charge myself another $75 late fee when I was told @ least 10 times that they where scheduling a tech to come to my home...to no avail. What a griff...I'm going to cancel this fraudgalent agrrement and sue the breaks off these grifters...Enough is enough!Business Response

My complaint is,the system does not produce enough energy to power my home, even on full sun days,I have contacted the company and they refuse to add anymore panels to solve the problem. The solution I would like, is to have more panels added to the system and the panels lowered closer to the roof to stop the wind noise.Business Response

My inverter for my solar system went down, has not been working. Solar edge contacted me and said they will send a new inverter and install it at no cost to me as it is still under warranty. I received the new inverter however no one came to install or contacted me about the installation. I finally got a hold of Palmetto they told me it is Solar Edge's responsibility; I called Solar Edge, and they told me it is Palmetto's responsibility. In the meantime, I have a system I am paying 450 dollars a month and it is not working for the last 2 month. For the situation to be resolved:1) I need my system to be operational and need to be compensated for the months that my system is not working for however much I am paying on the system during the time it is not operational. 2)In the event they can't find an installer I need ****** dollars to find an installer and take care of it myself. 3) In case the system can't be repaired I would like a full refund or new systemBusiness Response

I am rejecting this response because:
solar panels were installed in late July or August of 2024 on September 19th still had not been inspected yet called to find out why check in again September 27th still no inspection October 1st inspection had been done but panel's not turned on yet November 5th still with no power from panels contacted my representative he said at that time November 5th The paperwork had been turned in and he didn't know what was going on he double check but if you look at the paperwork paperwork shows it was not turned into 11:13 8 days later I got an email on November 27th saying the power was good to turn on and text message from ***** saying definitely good to go as we spoke before they were not good to go that meters had not been changed and they did not follow up on any of this after making phone calls starting April 1st the meter at 3774 was changed finally not sure what day somewhere around the 4th of the 5th,... in the meantime I've paid double bills the electric bill and the lease payment on the panels since the first of the year for the last 4 months not getting any credit for power produced also on the ************************************************************************************************************************ that palmetto sent you there was an application sent in in December for that address in the name of July ******* since then they have been out service to panel because it didn't work and the service technician told me things up and running but they weren't still aren't
I called palmetto April 1st April 2nd April 4th trying to get some resolution and have yet I feel I should have some kind of refund or discount for the 4 to 5 months that I paid double bills and lease payment I was totally misled on how the operations worked from the beginning I would really like to have this resolved soon I'm at the point where I would like to have the solar panels removed from my roof I'm very disappointed in a company all the reviews I've read since this started has said that the company is very very poor and I understand why Hope this helps
