I am on Cobra and have ALWAYS paid my premiums early. 3 TIMES in less than 12 months my payments were processed but I was not shown as paid in their system. I find this out when my monthly prescriptions get denied at ********** I spend days on the phone trying to get this resolved. WORST INSURANCE COMPANY I HAVE EVER HAD!Review from Catherine K.

Horrible. I star is too many. I'm still suffering from the stress of dealing with this insurance, which was forced on us through our employer. It's absolutely the worst experience we've ever had. We had a file 3 inches thick, and you had to make calls almost daily to follow up on claims. The only hospital we have in town was considered "out of network." The only option would be a 5 hr drive, which was the SAME hospital provider (Intermountain). They claim to negotiate claims, but really all they do is play hardball with the providers, which are then forced to go after you, the patient. You're paying the bill--it may take a year or two...but you're paying it! They try to deny everything---including preventative and standard yearly. There wasn't one thing easy or beneficial about this company or experience. You will be better off seeking cash-pay doctors and attempting to avoid seeking any medical at all--just hope that your employer will switch the next year and you won't die of a preventable disease because you avoided care. If you do seek care...and if it is serious---you're going to die broke and stressed because of this company.Review from Sonia K

This is the worst insurance . I wish I can give them minus 10. They are very expensive and find every single reason to not pay the claim. None of my claims in the last 3 years have been paid. All my accounts are now in collections hurting my credit score.Review from Ty M

0 star. Negative star rating. Went to the ** I was supposed to go to, they will not cover the surgeon that did my appendectomy. I guess in the ** having an emergency surgery I'm supposed to shop for in network surgeons? Which they gave me no choice to do? At a Mountain star hospital that we drove 30 minutes too and bypassed the hospital by my house . F_ck EBMS, so happy my employer switched for this year.Review from Sandra L

I agree with all of the reviews for this insurance company (if you can even call it insurance). They pay little or nothing and use a third party to negotiate claims. The first thing they do is ask the providers to write off the balance as charity. If that doesnt work, they attempt to negotiate settlements. Instead of just paying a fair price for services rendered, the work as hard as they can to worm out of paying anything. All the while, telling the insured not to make any arrangements with the providers or you will have to pay the full balance. Takes them months to go through this ridiculous process while the patient worries about being sent to collections. Someone should really start a class action lawsuit. The stress alone should be enough to *** the SOBs. Its worse than being uninsured! Completely worthless!Review from Andi S

The only reason I have EBMS for health coverage is because it is all my company offers. They have covered zero of mine or my husband's visits to our primary care physician, even though "they cover every provider in our area," and, "have no network". I am now pregnant and was told the parameters to purchase a breast pump, adhered to those 100%, and they have denied my claim twice now. If you are a company looking into using EBMS for your healthcare insurance, do not do that disservice to your employees.Review from Marcia R

This company is horrible for providers who care about their patients. which the vast majority of us do.. As a psychologist, I like to run interference with insurance plans even if I'm out-of-network as a courtesy to my clients. I have never held them to the signed agreement that they pay me in full and deal with insurance reimbursement themselves. I don't understand insurance practices well even with plans that I accept, and I recognize it is burdensome to my clients. I am in-network with a limited number of plans for a reason, and that is that they meet their terms with minimal difficulties. This company faxes me session by session agreeing to a fee on a one-time basis that we actually negotiated for all services rendered, rather than each one at their discretion. There is a clear implication that they may change it at any moment. They have never returned a call, and I suspect I will have no recourse if (honestly, when) they renege. For each session I receive a separate faxed agreement. Even though they are two months behind, I receive a fax one day and must return it the next or else the agreement is officially null and void. I have received numerous faxes with HIPAA-protected information for providers in other states. They recently began paying me, which counts for something, but at a much lower sum with no stated rationale. Again, any recourse is unlikely. My client is frustrated with me for not billing her, but I cannot find out what her portion is because i don't receive a proper explanation of benefits so don't know what she owes. Sadly, I recently let my client know that I needed to ask her to do the footwork as per our agreement. I have never actually passed this responsibility on to my clients in 28 years, but I am devoting endless amounts of time that is being taken from my family and my practice. My paid assistant is spending time that I cannot afford. My client knows the process of dealing with them is horrendous, and she is understandably not willing to do it. She is dropping out of therapy as a consequence, which is not in her best interests. I worry that she will not find an in-network provider, because one would have to be seriously insane to accept this insurance. And no one out-of-network will be able to tolerate this for long. I suspect this is the endgame: if no one will work with you, EBMS does not have to pay.My best guess is that I will never be fully reimbursed. They doubtless realize that at some point claims are more expensive to pursue than let go of. I am not comfortable holding a client to sums her family can't afford and will simply take the loss of the difference, then run as fast as I can and never look back.I have come across a good bit of unscrupulousness and corporate greed in the insurance industry, but I have never in 28 years of practice experienced anything at the level. Please do NOT pick this insurance if you want to receive medical treatment and wish to be treated with the dignity and respect that all people deserve.
