Purpose "tocreate a fun and memorable birthday experience for children that reside inhomeless and domestic violence shelters."ProgramsEachparent in the homeless and domestic violence shelter has the option toreceive: 1. A Birthday Party – a partywith birthday decorations, party hats, cake, ice cream, games, crafts orentertainment, and treat bags; 2. A Birthday-in-a-Bag – the parent receives alist of party items to select from to give the birthday child a party thatincludes their family or they can request enough party items to celebrate withall the children in the shelter; and 3. A Birthday-in-a-Class – the birthdaychild receives store purchased cupcakes delivered to their school to celebratetheir day with their schoolmates on their birthday. With all of the options, the birthday childreceives a Happy Birthday Bear from Build-a-Bear or if the child is over 12,he/she can select a $10 gift card from Target, Walmart, or Dollar Tree. Also, if the parent selects aBirthday-in-a-Bag or a Birthday-in-a-Class, It’s Your Birthday, Inc. allows theparent to take the credit for providing the smile to their child on thisspecial day.
