08/28/2024 This company is another Tow company that has gotten over on consumers by keeping personal belongings and their car and charging outrageous charges to keep my car they towed. The tow and the resale after the consumer can afford to get their car out of the tow. I am a victim of this. The company has stolen my car and refuses to let me retrieve my personal belongings. The owner ***** and his employees have given me the run around telling me to bring paperwork with my name on it but when I produce the documents they gave me excuses saying they will not let me get my car or belongings and will keep adding additional fees until I'm not able to get the car out of the tow lot. The owner even taunted me after I told him I was going file a complaint and report him and take him to court for gauging prices. The owner ***** laughed and stated he has never lost in court and I won't be the last to file a report. This clearly shows that he has done the same things to other consumers and got away with it. He refuses to give me any of my children's belongings or my belongings. He has blocked my number and constantly hangs up in my face when I call for my things stating he will charge an additional $25 a day for calling and filing a police report for harassment because I'm calling to retrieve my car and belongings.

Good morning, this complaint, as usual, is as far from the truth as it can get. This vehicle was towed, in accordance with Missouri law, for being parked on private property. This vehicle was sitting on the sidewalk entry area of an apartment complex long enough for the apartment complex to sticker it as a warning, then contact the tow company, (Casters) to remove it. Once we arrived on scene we contacted the police dept to have the paperwork done and filled out before leaving the scene. Shortly after the vehicle was towed is when the drama unfolded from this person calling and threatening us, calling us every name in the book, even bringing race into this. She had called roughly 40 times since this vehicle was towed.
As far as being able to pick up the vehicle she was informed she needed the title or the registration to the vehicle and that it needed to be current and in her name. She said she never had any of that and that her “baby daddy” had it so she was going to get ahold of him.
I spoke with her yesterday and she was mad and hostile yet again because she purchased the vehicle in 2014 but never even went to the dealer to pick up her paperwork to register this vehicle. So now, ten years later, her vehicle got towed and the tow company can’t legally release it because she has no way to show she owns it because she’s been running around illegally for 10 years and scammed the state because she doesn’t want to pay sales tax on it, and it’s all of a sudden our fault. Absolutely not, we WILL NOT RELEASE A VEHICLE TO SOMEONE THAT CANT PROVE THEY OWN IT. period.
If this individual wants to pay her sales tax, and put the vehicle in her name legally and do this the right way she could have had the vehicle picked up the day it was towed and wouldn’t be racking up daily storage fees, but her inability to fulfill her legal obligations, and unwillingness to pay her sales tax will result in this vehicle being forfeited and sold and the personal property being disposed of.
We do want to put it on the record that we are not going to continue to deal with the repetitive harassing phone calls cursing at my office staff and calling names and being racist towards my staff. So her number will be blocked if it continues but she has not been blocked at all as of this point. She received a call from me from a restricted number because I’m not having her calling me as well.
Any further questions we will be happy to answer as we have already informed her of everything she needs to know but she won’t listen, all she’s wanting to do is yell scream and cuss since it isn’t what she wants to hear.

I am rejecting this response because: I have shown proof that the car is mine the Tow lot is trying to find ways to keep my car and personal belongings he will do anything for money and is finding loop holes through the law by overcharging and keeping my car and personal belonging. I wouldn't be putting effort in getting property back that isn't mines. There is $1000 Mac Book air inside of my car with other belongings and proof of insurance documents and other document that shows my name on it. I have no reason to make up lies the car was not stolen and I was driving the car. I've showed proof of title paperwork and this fraudulent tow lot owner who scams people out of personal belongings and car for his own personal gains. I even went to the ****** ***** dealership where I purchased the car to get documents to show the Tow lot is running a ring of stealing people property the document and they said we wont accept anything even though your name is on the documents we don't believe you. I Never harassed this owner simply wanted my things back and he kept making up lies to keep my property. The car was not abandoned so he no right to keep my property.

How do we get these types of complaints off of our company record when there is clear evidence showing absolutely zero wrong doing on our part. Just because people are mad because they parked illegally and got towed should not be a sufficient reason to file complaints against a company that hasn’t done anything wrong and tarnish our name and reputation.Initial Complaint

The tow truck company stated that I called for a tow which did not occur. So they illegally towed my vehicle without any tow requests, service requests, no phone calla were made requesting such a service. The tow truck driver operator owner driver of the companies vehicle is using deceptive business practices and stealing by means of fraud and force without any legal or valid paperwork forms

My vehicle was towed this past Friday May 19,2023. from Independence Center mall to Casters Tow and Transport LLC. I called to get price to pick it up. Told 300.00. Nothing mentioned about specific paperwork needed for pick up. When I arrived there they said title or registration only. I asked if they could take the info I had which had my make model vin number as well as my name and current address he said that was up to his boss. The boss said no. He told me to come back the next day Saturday May 20,2023. I asked is there any storage fee? He said yes 50.00. I said that’s not fair since you won’t take the info I have as proof. I explained I’m here to get it now and you won’t let me get it to me so I really shouldn’t have to pay overnight storage. I even offered to have police come out to run my tags for proof of ownership. I was told to call to make appointment for pick up the next day, Saturday. I would need 350.00’to pick up my car. I called to schedule pick up. I needed it early for work they couldn’t accommodate my time for 930-945 so I scheduled for 4 pm Saturday. When I get there the total was now. 485.00. He charged me two days of storage. (Only there overnight) Two window wrapping and then an after hours charge never mentioned prior. I told him I was never told about these extra charges. I was told 350.00. My daughter was with me and she heard this too. I mentioned to him that I had already complained about the one overnight charge of 50.00. He said if I didn’t like it leave and pay more later. I’f I didn’t leave he would get me cited for trespassing. I unfortunately was forced to pay. They think they have total control and since we are at their mercy they are able to charge whatever whenever. They need to be investigated and at the very least regulated. This is so outrageous and unfair. I was told 350. How is it ok to charge 485.00 at pick up? It’s thievery!! I want others to be aware and warned. I want my difference in money back. They also make you pay cash, which is suspect. This was an awful and scary experience. Thx so much!! ******* *********

in response to this complaint for a second time, as we did respond the first time, this lady parked somewhere where she was not supposed to be parked, the independence mall security had her vehicle towed, and she was charged pricing in accordance with the city of independence ordinance. the lady made threats towards our drivers and employees and was very irate. she also had no ownership paperwork to the vehicle which is why it was not able to be released that same day. no refund will be issued and she is welcome to contact an attorney.Initial Complaint

I was going out for my birthday dinner at the Hacienda Mexican Grill at 3601 S Noland.
I got there at 6:40pm. I noticed a tow truck setting there but the business Mid America Title was closed for the rest of the day. The tow driver watched me walk into the restaurant, never said a word like I'm sorry you can't park here. I didn't see the small sign which was not even pointing in the direction of the parking slot. My friend had the done open for me so I went straight in. I came out to find both of our cars gone. I'm a single parent of 2 teenagers. I immediately went into panick mode. No car kids at home. I find out Caster Tow towed my car fir parking in their lot when they were not even open. It was 21 degrees outside so I was freezing and I fell in their parking lot. I Injured my back, knee and wrists. When I got to the so called tow lot the man was there that watched me walk into the restaurant. I asked him why couldn't you of just rolled down your window and told me not to park there. He said we own that property and are not required to tell you anything. I feel this is a total scam. Instead of getting your car when u can't make your payment they found a cheaper way to get free cars and titles. They towed 6 cars that night after they were closed so their customers needing to park was not a issue. He sits there waiting because it's Christmas time and people are going to eat out more. According to the manager at the restaurant they have been doing this for the last 2 1/2 months. Average tow $350 to $ 500 they have made about 15 grand in 2 months. What a scam from a business at Christmas time. I feel this is horrible and should not be allowed.

In regards to the complaint, i will begin with stating that we apologize for any inconvenience that this causes, however, that being said, my drivers are working and performing their tasks that i require of them. It is not the responsibility of my drivers to "watch" or "babysit" people and let them know where they can, or can not, or should or should not, park at. When we try being courteous to people and politely ask them not to park in certain areas, people get irate and confrontational towards my drivers. that being said we know longer try to "inform" people of the information they should already know about. It is not the responsibility of my drivers, to tell people where to park, it is our job as a company performing a service for a business to enforce the parking rules and regulations set fourth by that business. At the end of the day, this person if filing a complaint with the BBB because they don't want to accept responsibility for their mistake. As far as pricing goes, we adhere to state and local laws for pricing set fourth and keep it consistent across the board. Any and all parts of these tows are done and performed as required by both state and city laws. If the BBB feels any wrong doing was done i am happy to further explain the process via the telephone and i can be reached anytime mon-fri 9 am to 5 pm central time at ***********
