  We arrived late in the evening and found a squirrel in the room.Front desk sent someone to try to catch it.After a while we realized there were squirrel f**** all over the room on the floor and in drawers. We asked the office to send housekeeping to get it cleaned. They claimed there was no one to come that late.When we stated that we would expect them to comp us they found someone to clean.They swept the floor changed the sheet on one of the beds and sprayed the kitchenliving area floor with a cleaner and used towels to wipe it up never mopped the floor. Since it was late we were satisfied with the partial cleaning. The owner showed up and he was condescending and kept stating this was ***************** as if we have no idea that animals can get into the house.The next day we called the office and asked for them to send housekeeping to do a thorough cleaning.We had told them that the floors were dirty and left our socks black and that we also had found f**** in the drawers.We had a pregnant woman and a toddler with us.We wanted to make sure everything was clean properly since rodents carry diseases.Housekeeping came and barely swept the floor and only took out trash.We had to clean the place ourselves so it was livable and safe for our family. Further investigation we saw the refrigerator had mold in it the dish strainer had a moldy paper towel under it along with a bunch of dead bugs. One of the bathrooms had a dead worm in it and hair in the sink.The floors were filthy and sticky in spots and a stiff dirty towel was left on a chair.We talked to management and expressed our concern about all of the filth and unsanitary conditions left in the rooms and she didnt care.If they are ok with people living with rodent f**** who knows what other disgusting unsanitary filth they are ok with letting their customers live in.I would think twice about booking with this company. ************* and ***************** are owned by the same guy.

  The motel does not even deserve one star! Worst motel experience ever! First of all, the website we mistakenly booked from, http://www.mackinaw-city.com/motels/bridgeview_motel/ it's a scam. The property looks nothing like what the actual motel looks like! It's sad that the owner has such a trap out on the internet. We had to check in at a different motel! The lobby was quite disorganized! We were initially assigned a room that was already occupied. Areas outside of the room we were shown were more than just dirty, they were horrific. Dead bugs everywhere. I'm not sure what creepy crawlies would have been in our room. We didn't end of staying there! The attendant showed us a 'lakeview room'...we never could have sat out on the desk...it was too dirty and way too many dead and alive bugs around. We did take the key for that room as we were going to try and stay there. But we were hungry and tired from driving all day. We barely saw the room so, after he left, we got back in the car to go eat, and actually ended up making a reservation at another motel down the road. A beautiful, independently owned motel (The Rainbow Motel). We ate supper and drove back down to the nasty motel. I was planning to drop off the key at the motel lobby and tell him we were not staying but the door to the lobby was closed, I didn't see him in there at the time. So, I dropped the key off in a cardboard box on the porch and drove away and we slept in a nice place, not having to be concerned with what was going to crawl in bed with us! My mom was in the hospital with covid in 2021 and I couldn't stand having her sleep in such conditions. I've since read many other reviews, especially on Trip Advisor and there are more bad reviews than good. I only wish I had done that ahead of time. I am currently in dispute with the motel through my credit card company. All I can say is, if you are reading this...don't even think once about staying there!

  We appreciate you selecting one of our properties for your vacation and are concerned to hear that you felt it didn’t meet your expectations. We are a privately owned property that offers budget friendly rooms in a high tourist area. In addition to this we are located directly on the beach which allows for some of the best views in mackinaw city with minimal costs. 
  
  
  
  This year we’ve had an extraordinarily long mayfly and midge season which is very beneficial to our fishing industry and environment but can be harder to combat on beachfront properties. As a guest I can understand how frustrating this can be when you are unaware of the local environment. We do have housekeeping and maintenance on staff 24/7 so any concerns would have been addressed immediately and handled to meet your expectations. 
  
  
  
  Our property is a no frills budget friendly place that allows families to enjoy the beauty of northern Michigan. While some rooms do remain dated, we are currently working on updating our property and as I’m sure you are aware, it takes time. Many of the pictures you see on our site are of our updated rooms and those are booked immediately. We always recommend calling the property directly to reserve accommodations if you have specific expectations and questions so we can be sure to accommodate you according to your expectations. 
  
  
  
  In addition to this, we do have a 72 hour cancellation policy that is explained on our website. Because your stay was past the 72 hour period, you were charged a one night stay cancellation fee as that room was held for you and other reservations were not able to be accepted.
