On January 25 we purchased ********* cabinets with lifetime warranty from Canton kitchens from ***** *** in the amount of $20220.00. When we received them they were very bad quality had dents, scrunches and bad paint job. ***** came over the next day and assured us that they will be fixed by a professional from ********* and or replaced because ********* has lifetime warranty. Because we were in a rush to finish the kitchen we installed the frames and waited for the replacement on the doors and shelves. We went back and forth with ***** and Kraftmaid representative and they were basically just wasting time and sending the wrong pieces or non at all. Also we had KraftMaid technician over to fix some of the frames that we could not replace. After the visit the cabinets looked even worse he scrached the paint off with sandpaper leaving sandpaper circles everywhere and the paint was coming off and still is to this day. There was overspray on everything and some places he cut out or sanded down and left not painted. At this point they did not refund us anything and they dont want to help us at all. We thought that we could trust this company since it has a lifetime but to this day they have not fixed or refunded us for anything. Could you please help us we paid all this money waisted so much time and they are just basically ignoring us totally at this point. We have all the text msgs emails and pictures proving all that happened. Its been over a year now and we still do not have a kitchen that we paid for. Thank you so much for your help in advance.Business Response

Canton Kitchens was made aware of the complaints from the customer regarding the quality of cabinets manufactured by ******************* (a ****************** company). Canton Kitchens was the designer and retailer and the warranty for all claims regarding quality is from the manufacturer themselves, not Canton Kitchens. Canton Kitchens has sold KraftMaid cabinetry for more than 15 years and they have always stood by their products and any warranty claims that may occur.
When first made aware of some paint issues with the cabinets, our designer (*****) visited the home to make an initial inspection (Feb 27th, 2023). At the time, the cabinets had just been delivered and nothing was yet installed. Cabinets were partially opened and distributed around the living room but not installed. Most all issues were minor and finish related, and easily fixed with new doors or proper touch-up. This is not at all uncommon with new cabinetry or furniture; and in professionally installed projects, final touch-up is considered part of the finish installation. The customer is a contractor by trade and has experience in this procedure as he was employed by one of the contractors who we supply cabinets for. There were a couple items (refrigerator end panels) that were not considered ***airable, and they were reordered and shipped directly to the customer. This process can take several weeks as ********* produces cabinets to order, items are not in-stock and sitting on a shelf.
Customer was informed that the kitchen needed to be installed so we could know the extent of all the other touch-up issues and then a ***resentative from ********* would need to be brought to the job-site for inspection if there were more than just a few doors/drawers that needed to be ***laced. Once the kitchen was installed and the new refrigerator panels had shipped, we arranged to meet a *** from KraftMaid (*** ********) at the job-site to do an overall inspection on April 4th,2023. At this point, the claim is then addressed by ********* as they are the manufacturer of the cabinets and the issuer of the Limited Lifetime Warranty. At this first inspection, the ********* ***resentative noted some doors that needed to be ***laced discussed the next step with having a trained finish professional from Furniture Medic come to the home and make any necessary ***airs. As per the warranty, ********* reserves the right to ***air or ***lace any defects in material or workmanship within the terms and conditions set forth in the written warranty.
At the time, we also volunteered to supply new doors for a cabinet that was not installed as designed and Canton Kitchens covered the cost of these new doors at no charge to the customer. At this point, the only issues were some minor scratches on a few doors and the refrigerator panels (the new panels also had some issues, but only cosmetic). The customer was instructed that they should finish their cabinet and countertop installation and install the appliances as there was no reason why they couldnt fully use their kitchen while waiting for the ***airs to be done.
Touch up materials had to be ordered from the factory and the first available time for Furniture Medic to come to the home was May 26th;the appointment was set for 9-10am. The following week, on May 31st, the customer reached out to our designer and said they were unhappy with the ***air that had been done. We received pictures of items that were not part of the original claim, as well as pictures of the new paint that had been scratched off. This was the first time in our designers 31 years of selling ********* Cabinetry that he had ever heard of a Furniture Medic ***air that didnt work. We notified the sales *** from ********* to set up another job-site inspection, which had to also be coordinated with the technician from Furniture Medic.
The re-inspection occurred on Friday, July 14th with, the KraftMaid ***, the Furniture Medic technician, and the customer. We also sent our designer to the job to act as an advocate for the customer and help facilitate a resolution between the customer and KraftMaid. Upon inspection, there were overspray issues noted from the initial ***air as well as an adhesion issue with the newly painted finish areas. The new paint could be scrapped off with just a fingernail, which should never be able to happen. The Furniture Medic tech said this was very unusual and wondered if there was a defect in the paint he was sent; and he said he would look into that further. In the meantime, the KraftMaid *** offered to ***lace every single door and drawer front in the entire kitchen, even doors many of which had nothing at all wrong with them. He also offered to pay the Furniture Medic technician to install all of the ***lacement door and drawer fronts even though that is not part of ********** warranty. We also noted at this time that the appliances still had not been installed and and furniture had yet been moved into the entire first floor of this newly renovated home project.
The Furniture Medic tech took one of the defective doors from the job and ***ainted it at home using different touch up supplies and ***orted there was no issue with adhesion. With this new information, he felt confident he could ***air the finish to ********** specifications as per the warranty. As soon as the new door and drawer fronts arrived, KraftMaid would schedule Furniture Medic to ***air the finish on the refrigerator panel and some cabinet frames. He would also then install the new doors and drawer heads and make any finish touch-*** that were necessary with the new material at that time. All this time though, there was no reason why this kitchen could not have been fully used for normal everyday needs. We could not explain why the customer was not using their kitchen, but these cosmetic ***airs were not causing the kitchen to be unusable.
When asked about timing, the KraftMaid *** quoted the typical lead time needed for ***lacement doors to ship, which is about 2-3 weeks from receipt of the order confirmation. Unfortunately, this was not a typical ***lacement of 2-3 doors for the entire kitchen. This was 41 doors and drawer heads that were ordered and this created a red-flag at the factory. Additional approvals were needed to authorize the shipping of that many door and drawer faces this was a VERY unusual case. We have been told by KraftMaid that every single door and drawer is tracked throughout the production process and if they have multiple issues on the same kitchen, they can trace back to see where that material came from, who put the cabinets together, what day they were finished and in what machine. They do this so they can audit their equipment and labor force to make sure they are delivering a quality product. We do wish a 2-3 week lead time was not quoted to the customer; but again the customer had a fully functioning and usable kitchen these finish issues were not keeping them from using any part of their kitchen.
The customer kept ***eating that they didnt have a kitchen to use, but that was their by their own choice. Repairs and ***lacements had been done and were continuing to be done as per the manufacturers written warranty. In the meantime, the Furniture Medic technician scheduled a time with the customer to come back and do some of the finish ***airs we had discussed on Saturday, July 28th. I did not hear back from the customer after this visit, but the tech ***orted to the KraftMaid *** that on the day of the ***air, it was over 90 degrees outside, and the customer refused to close the windows or turn on the air conditioning. Not only was this ***air not able to be done under conditions conducive to success, as the tech was packing up his material, the customer was actively scratching off the uncured paint again. We will never know if that ***air would have been successful because the customer was not cooperative in allowing that to happen.
On August 8th, the customer texted our designer to check on the status of the ***lacement doors and to let us know the paint was coming off (we werent surprised by this seeing as the Furniture Medic tech said it probably wouldnt work in 90+ degree temperatures and whatever the humidity was in ** that day). KraftMaid still had not given us a production or ship date on the doors but we kept checking for updates with their online ordering system. ********* did not ship the 41 ***lacement doors and drawer heads until the week of August 21st.
Sometime in September, we were contacted by a third party claiming to be a friend of the customer and was acting as a go between to help resolve the issues. This was the first time we had contact from the customer that there were problems with any of the new doors and drawer fronts that were sent. Some were missing and some were damaged. We informed her that this was a ********* warranty issue and we would forward all of the information she sent to KraftMaid for resolution. We also suggested she contact KraftMaid directly to see if that would help as we were doing all we could as a supplier to get this resolved with the manufacturer. Lists of missing items and pictures of new damage were sent on September 7th and 8th. She sent more pictures on September 12th and 13th and those were all sent to our KraftMaid *** for resolution. She reached out once again in November with a few doors she said were again missing, and those were sent to ********* once again. The owner of our company responded to a call from here in that time frame and she had to leave abruptly and said she would call us back. That call was the last communication we have had with the customer or their neighbor regarding resolution of this complaint. We were of the understanding that they had received the remaining items and the issue was resolved until they made this complaint on BBB some five months later.
In conclusion, Canton Kitchens has done everything we possibly can as an advocate and go-between with the customer and KraftMaid. Our role in this project was to design and supply cabinetry to fit the customers stated needs. ********************** does not manufacture any the cabinetry we sell, nor do we provide any material warranties for any of the manufacturers we deal with. We regret the customer had these issues with ********* and feel they would be much better served by addressing their complaint directly to the source of the problem.
As such, the customer has not stated a single issue that would fall to Canton Kitchens as a warranty issue or matter of negligence; and we respectfully request that this matter be removed from our listing and forwarded to ********* directly as stated in their Limited Lifetime Warranty.

I am rejecting this response because:Canton Kitchens has not stood by their products and any warranty claims that occurred. Before we payed for the cabinets ***** was very helpful but once he received all the money we were ignored and had to contact him constantly and to this day the problem is not fixed. From the start once we payed the deposit we had to contact ***** multiple times for everything. We were not even informed that the cabinets are coming and could not get in contact with ***** we send multiple text msgs and emails.
The issues were not minor and if it could have been easily fixed then why was it not fixed and still not fixed to this day. Please take a look at the pictures we provided. On Feb ******* ***** came to pick up the rest of the money and guaranteed that everything will be fixed by a professional or exchanged. ***** guaranteed that he will take care of it and unfortunately we believed him and went ahead and installed the cabinets. He said that he will contact Kraftmaid and take care of the problem and will contact them until the problem is solved.
There were not just a couple of items that were considered not ***airable please take a look at the pictures provided. They were reordered multiple times and each time they came they had a problem.
We installed the kitchen cabinets just like ***** told us just for them to see the issues which were visible without having them installed. ***** said if we dont install them he cant do anything about the issue which was a lie. Once they are installed they know we cannot do anything anymore and that we will be stuck with them just like we are now. ***** guaranteed that once we get them installed he will take care of everything and to this day the kitchen is still undone and damaged.
When ***** come over he said that the cabinets have a lot of problems and *** from KraftMaid (*** ********) will have to come over and see all the defects. When the *** took a look at the cabinets he said they shouldt have even been shipped because they have so many defects. ***** seemed very suprise that the *** said that to us. *** said that the cabinets have dirt marks because the machines arent cleaned. Also he said that since Covid its very hard to get good employees. The *** said their employees arent competent and that they dont even inspect the cabinets before they leave the factory. Also he mentioned that since Covid the quality of the cabinets is much worse.***** did not mentioned any problems with Kraftmaid cabinets we asked multiple times and we have been lied to that they are great quality and that there have been no problems with them. After *** mentioned all the problems the company is having with the quality. *** said that he will work with ***** and will help us fix the problem because they want happy costumers. *** and ***** said he they will sent a professional furniture medic tech to fix the cabinets and that we will be happy and that they never had a problem with him which again was a lie.We asked multiple times if after the fixing the defects will not be noticeable and if the cabinets will be just like new. Both ***** and *** assured us that it will look perfect and that he will be careful and protect everything and fix it just like new. ***** said that he will be the one contacting *** and ordering the new doors because he has the layout and all the information. They assured us that they want their customers happy and that we have nothing to worrie about. Also during the inspection *** said ***** is responsible for giving us the money back for one of the cabinets that had a defect. Please take a look at the picture.
Canton Kitchens indeed volunteered to supply 4 new doors for cabinets because the design he made would look horrible the way it was, which he agreed it would look off. To this day out of these 4 doors we still only received 2 of them. At this point we had more issues not just minor scratches like they mentioned in the response. Please take a look at pictures we provided. We did not want to install the appliances because we were afraid that they would get damaged during the fixing of the cabinets. ***** said that we should install the appliances and if they will get damaged we will worry about that later.. easy for someone to say because its not his home, money and time.
On May 26 the professional furniture medic come over and he was not p***ared at all for this job. He did not now what he will be working on and he did not even have the correct color paint for our cabinets. ***** and *** promised us that everything will be protected and covered. Well nothing was covered and protected we were left with overspray on everything. Please look at the pictures attached. We also asked if the paint will have a very strong smell they assured us that it will not smell and that it will covered and fixed like new. When the professional furniture medic showed up we also asked him about the smell. He said it will be minimal and that it will be fine in a couple of hours. I told them all that I have asthma and that I cant be in smelly places because I can have an asthma attack. I was also pregnant at that time and avoided toxic chemicals. I work from home when he started to work on the kitchen the whole house was filled with spray paint fumes the smell was extremely strong and so I had to leave the house and work from outside the rest of the day. The whole house stank for a week I have to leave and sleep somewhere else. Thanks to all of them. The professional medic told us that we should not enter the kitchen for at least 24 hours and not touch anything.Which we did after 2 days when he ****** inspected the kitchen we were shocked with what the tech did to the kitchen. The color of the paint that was used was different and it was coming off with even the slightest touch. There were sanded off places that were not even covered with paint. Horrible sand paper marks and overspray on everything. Please see pictures below. ***** and *** assured us that the furniture medic is a professional and that everything will be done perfectly and that there will not be any problems but that was not the case.
After we informed ***** about this problems he scheduled a visit. The date provided in the response is incorrect. The re-inspection
took place on June 30 friday. To this day some of the drawers and doors are still missing. During the re inspection day the professional furniture medic showed up 40 minutes before the scheduled appointment and wanted to come in and fix the problems before ***** and *** show up so they would not see all the damage that he made. But of course we did not allowed him to fix anything at that time we wanted ***** and *** to see all the damage that he left us with and what a professional he really is. *** and ***** inspected the damage and apologized about what has happened and said that all the doors and drawers fronts will be ***laced. The professional furniture medic sanded off most of the problem areas leaving sandpaper marks and scratches, some of them he left behind not even covered with paint. The places that he did cover with paint, the paint would come off with even the slightest touch. Also the paint was not the correct color and finish. Please take a look at the pictures. During the re inspection the furniture medic said that they had this problem before where the paint did not stay. So this is another lie that they said because they already had this problem before, and they are trying to blame it on us. We were assured that this was going to be a professional job but he even did not have the correct color of paint and also mentioned that if we ever need to cover anything you can just buy this paint on ****** and that its very cheap. Good to know that they use the cheapest paint and dont even know how to match the color and the finish which they assured us that it would be just like the original. The Kraftmaid *** *** offered to ***lace every single door and drawer front in the entire kitchen and bathroom because there were too many of them that were damaged by the Professional furniture medic, he said it will be easier just to ***lace them all then to go one by one again. He also did offer to pay the professional furniture medic to install the ***lacement doors and drawers but we declined who would want that .. he would probably cause more damage again. We offered to go and pick up all the doors and drawers fronts because *** was also claiming that some of the damage was also being caused by *** during the delivery. We wanted to get them as soon as possible because everything was put on hold because of this problem. *** said that the order would not come in all at once that they would come sporadically which is crazy for a big order like that. But when we offered to pick them up and inspect them they just laughed and said thats not possible. How were we supposed to use the kitchen when it was not fully fixed and done and doors were removed because the frames were being fixed. I have asthma and the stuff would be uncovered and later covered in dust and overspray made by their professional furniture medic. It was not just cosmetic ***airs please take a look at all the pictures. Also its no ones business why there was no furniture on the first floor. It would be better if Canton Kitchens would focus on finishing our kitchen and not worrying about the furniture in our home.
When asked about timing the Kraftmaid *** said that he will place the order right away on Monday right after he receives the layout from *****. The *** said it will be no more than 2-3 weeks to receive the order because he will make this a rush order. This was actually 46 doors and drawers fronts not 41 like mentioned in the response. After the 3 weeks past we did not receive any message from anyone about the order. We contacted ***** he said that the order did not even ship yet when it was in fact it already supposed to be here. We were promise a rush order and guaranteed that it would be here in no more then 3 weeks in the response from Canton Kitchens they said that the cabinets were late because of this whole process they had to do but in fact they were really late because the order was not even placed yet at that time. So during the time that we were waiting the order was not even placed at all. They are claiming they have such a long and thru out process when *** said that they dont even have a final inspection before the product is shipped. Canton Kitchen is telling us to use the kitchen when its not fix nor finished. Everything is out in the open and covered with dust and dirt after the fixing because he is sanding and painting and also the lasting smell of the toxic paint. I wonder if they would use a kitchen like that and would want to clean all the kitchen stuff after their professional furniture medic would leave. I was pregnant and have asthma so I was not going to use a kitchen that is harmful to me and the baby.
We agreed that the Professional furniture medic will come back and fix everything that he damaged because we had no other choice. It was either this or rip out the frames the tile and the countertop. Thats why they were pushing us to install it so we would be left with this problem. They all guaranteed that this time he will fix them correctly and that he will protect and cover everything this time. We waited on the doors and drawers fronts which did not show up. Also the appointment that we already had scheduled for July 22 during the re inspection with the professional furniture medic got cancelled without even informing us. ***** said that is because the doors and drawers fronts did not come and he was going to install them. They are just making stuff up as they go we told them during the re inspection that we do not want him to install them just fix what he damaged thats all. If we didnt double check we would be waiting and no one would show up. Thats not how you treat a valuable customer its a total disrespect from all of them. ***** said that the professional tech can come the following Saturday July 29 we agreed.
Again as we said before we did not use the kitchen because everything would be out in the open and covered with dust and dirt after the fixing because he is sanding and painting and also the lasting smell of the toxic paint. Also we were worried about the appliances that he would damage them during the fixing. The professional furniture medic came over on July 29 not July 28 like in their response. This is yet another not true thing in their response. During the visit the professional furniture medic did even more damage. Canton Kitchen is again lying that we had the windows open and that the ac was not on. They are trying to cover up all the damage that they did and the fact that they cant fix it and try to blame us for it. Professional furniture medic did not protect or cover anything yet again because there was even more overspray on everything. Canton Kitchen is also claiming that we actively scratching off the uncured paint which is another lie. Its not even possible to scratch off uncured paint. The kitchen and the bathroom was left for him to fix and the ac was on at all times and because he was not able to fix it they are making up lies. Its our kitchen why would we stop him from fixing it and why would we cause more damage. We were waiting for the birth of our first ***** and we would go around the kitchen and destroy it doesnt make any sense. We want Canton kitchen to stop lying and for all of them to own up to what they did and that they send inexperienced tech who damaged our kitchen and not put the blame on us. On 08/08/23 we informed ***** of all the issues that I noticed after I came back from vacation. Canton Kitchen is yet again lying that the windows were open and that the ac wasnton. Why would we sabotage the process of our own kitchen.
***** ignored the fact that we have a problem we constantly had to ask for updates and nothing was being done. The whole situation took a huge toll on our mental and physical health. I was pregnant and could not deal with the whole stress anymore. ****** asked for help from a friend because his English is not perfect. Our friend contacted Canton Kitchen for us, to inform them about what doors and drawers fronts that are still missing or damaged when arrived.
Thats when Canton Kitchen told her that we have to contact Kraftmaid directly. Before then ***** said that we should only contact him and he will inform Kraftmaid about everything. We send over emails back and forth with all the doors and drawers fronts that were missing or damaged again when arrived. Please see pictures provided. At this point nothing was being done about all the frames and panels that were damaged by their professional furniture medic. Canton kitchen did know about all the damage and they are claiming that they thought that the issue was resolved. How would it be resolved if nothing was being done about it, because they received all their money they did not care anymore. During the purchase ***** guaranteed that ********* has great quality and that he never had a problem with them which was a lie. ***** also guaranteed that if there would be any problems he would contact ********* directly and solve any problems that would come, but once he got his money we were ignored and are to this day.
The friend that was helping us called them multiple times they were very rude to her and did not want to help in any way. We lost all the hope because nothing is getting solved. I was in an advanced stage of pregnancy, our friend's effects were not giving any results because she was disregarded. We paid for what we were told was a quality product but we received garbage. Also during the inspections *** said ***** is responsible for giving us the money back for one of the cabinets that had a defect. To this day we have not received any money back from *****. And when asked about it he just ignores the question. Also please take a look at the picture.
Canton kitchen disregarded us once their received all the money and to this day we still dont have a kitchen that is fully done. We lost all the hope at this point and thats why we would greatly appreciate the help from BBB to help as solve this problem. We were guaranteed a kitchen that we would be very happy with that had great quality but instead we were disregarded and have a damaged undone kitchen, that is still causing us so much stress. That is not what we worked hard for we still do not have a kitchen that we payed for after all this time and after all the stress. We should be enjoying the quality kitchen that we were guaranteed and all we are left with is regret, stress and a big problem that is not being fixed.
Sincerely,

Canton Kitchen
Ignored the fact that we have a problem and to this day nothing is being done about it. So its hard to believe that Canton Kitchen will address the matter. Also we are still waiting for our money back. Canton Kitchen is just as responsive of this problem because they took the money and not stood behind the product they sell, we were constantly lied to and ignored. Canton Kitchen response is not satisfactory and we would like our money back.
