1 starMy plumber suggested that my water softener system was going up so I contacted *****. Everyone was friendly and professional at first and they replaced my system for thousands of dollars. The reason for replacing it was because my water kept shutting off. I asked them if it could be another issue like the well and they said no. They did not look at the well. They suggested I replace my well pump for no reason for much more money and I said no. After the installation the system kept failing on me and flooding and the tech told me I must be using too much water. The tank was also eating a 40 pound bag of salt a week. I called them over and over because it kept messing up and the tech became more aggressive with me when he couldn't fix it. He kept saying it was because I used too much water. I barely use any tap water. I called the company and asked for another tech but the person on the phone was angry with me and said they only had that one tech. I dealt with the same man so many times I started to feel unsafe. Finally when I got frustrated with him he said he had finally fixed it and that it was just a clog. Strange he couldn't figure that out all the other times he had been here. Finally on Easter day I woke up with no water and was stuck like that for nearly 2 days without help. Finally my new plumber came and they said my water shutting off was due to a faulty well switch the whole time and that there was no reason why the well wasn't looked at first. ***** is by far the worst company I have ever dealt with.

2 starsMy experience with Hague Quality Water of Maryland started in June 2024, and a year later I completely regret the $1,395 I spent. While their technicians and customer service were fine, I was sold an Upflow Water Neutralizing System, which I later learned is not recommended for well waterthough many companies still sell it that ****** house (built in 1946) has a well, softener, and pH neutralizer. When the old neutralizer failed, I contacted several companies, and Hagues price looked best. I assumed theyd recommend the right system and didnt question their choice. The salesperson emphasized that the Upflow model saves water and electricity since it doesnt backwasha meaningless benefit for a home on well ************************* July 2025, Hague serviced the system and added calcite. Immediately afterward, my water pressure dropped drastically. The technician suspected hardened calcite clogging the tank and suggested dumping it and adding a sediment filter. After two second opinions, I learned the real issue: ************** dont backwash, so buildup cant clear. ***************** which do backwash, rarely have this ********** options were to replace the one-year-old Upflow tank with a Downflow model (losing the $1,395 I paid) or plan for yearly dumping and rebedding. Another company confirmed that ************** often clog on well water and cost more in maintenance ************ short: I wish Id researched before buying. ************** may be cheaper upfront, but theyre a poor choice for well water homes. Hague might be fine for service calls, but for installationsespecially if youre on a welllook elsewhere.

Initial request from customer "Ive been told that my 15+ year old water (pH) neutralizer no longer functions and needs to be replaced. I am looking for quotes for the old tank/canister and mechanics to be removed from my basement (I have an exit that opens to my backyard) and the new system installed."We quoted dumping his existing equipment and an upflow neutralizer. He chose the upflow in A year later we service and in 6/26/24 the unit was installed. 7/9/25 we service the upflow and the pH was 7 (working perfectly). 7/29/25 customer begins having pressure issues. Our service tech finds that there is heavy sediment in the unit restricting flow, we recommend dumping it out and adding a prefilter for sediment. Emailed customer 8/1/25 "Good morning Zarieff,I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing water pressure issues. I looked through your history and saw that you had an old ***** neutralizer that wasn't working. and you were looking for a replacement.: Message from Customer: I've been told that my 15+ year old water (pH) neutralizer no longer functions and needs to be replaced. I am looking for quotes for the old tank/canister and mechanics to be removed from my basement (I have an exit that opens to my backyard) and the new system installed. Our tech **** met with you and ultimately decided on an upflow version of the neutralizer as it would reduce the stress on your well and septic system without a backwash, does not have moving parts to fail, and is the most economical option. There were no indications that there were issues with sediment at that time so no sediment filter was recommended. Adding this filter increases maintenance and reduces water pressure, as such they are used when necessary.7/9 ****** serviced the neutralizer, adding a bag of calcite to the unit. Thereafter you noticed a drop in water pressure. ****** suspects that sediment has filled the distribution basket inside the unit and suggests a sediment filter. We will need to dump and inspect the unit to confirm this recommendation. There are a couple of other potential causes. The first would be an aged pump; by adding another bag of calcite there is more restriction in the water flow, if the pump is unable to lift that larger amount of calcite the pressure will drop. Bypassing the unit would reduce the resistance and increase the pressure. The second is an obstruction in the tank, this could be solidified calcite in the bottom of the tank that is now getting weighed down by the new calcite, or less likely an obstruction in the port of the head. We will only be able to determine that upon inspection of the internals of the unit.We found out subsequently that the old backwashing neutralizer had been dumped 7 years ago, cause unknown.
