In April of 2025 I sold a car to Eastside Motoring through CarGurus. Eastside Motoring agreed to pay of the lien and then give me a check for the remainder of the car, $5k. I do have a signed written agreement with the amounts owed. After nearly 6 months, multiple phone calls, email and now a letter of demand, I have received NO reply and NO money. I contacted MASS *** and was informed that the car has been sold and is registered to a new owner. Which means they have since sold the car and made a profit. This company has no regard for those they owe money to, not even with a contract. It seems that the only way they're going to honor the contract is by a court order.Initial Complaint

I bought a car from them recently on 23MAY25 and I traded them in my previous car. We had a deal that they would pay off my old cars lien and they have not upheld that part of the deal. It has now been almost a month and they are selling my old car without paying off the lien. I am current active duty military and I am transferring to ******** soon, I am worried they are not going to pay off the lien.Customer Answer

My wife and I purchased a 2018 **** Explorer. We know that buying a used car can come with issues. Within the first week we noticed that the heating element on the drivers seat was not working and we brought it back to be repaired. one of us sat there for four hours for them to come and Tell us that we needed to come back another day as they needed to order parts. Went back the following week was told it would be quick was sitting there for another four hours for them to tell us it was going to take all day. We have not even put 7000 miles on the car since November 1 as of today and last week the alternator went on the car while we did buy an extended warranty. Apparently it wasnt one that covers the alternator. We were also told that the car will need a new battery and again while I can appreciate the fact that it is normal wear and tear. The battery is almost at the end of its life and without putting even 7000 miles on it, if they tested the battery they wouldve known that. We reached out to them several times last Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday finally they had someone call on Thursday saying basically too bad were out of our warranty with them and they will not honor a lemon law which we werent even mentioning to them. We just wanted them to work with us as we just got the car five months ago then yesterday we noticed The driver assistance is no longer working well that is not a major issue. We reached out yesterday via phone call in the morning email in the afternoon phone call in the evening and three phone calls today without any response. I feel like theyve sold us the car and now they just do not care about their customer which is unfortunate. We were just looking for them to respond to us, to work with us and I couldnt even get the owner ******* to call us back. I have a text message from a gentleman named **** who put it in a group text with the owner and still nothing.Initial Complaint

Subject: Formal Complaint Against Eastside Motors Deceptive Sales Practices and Safety Concerns My name is ***** ******, and I am filing a formal complaint against Eastside Motors in *******, **, for deceptive sales practices, unfulfilled repair promises, and safety concerns related to my recent vehicle purchase. On January 27, 2025, I purchased a 2015 ***** CR-V from Eastside Motors. During the test drive, I noticed significant shaking and was assured by the owner that the issue would be fixed if I committed to the purchase. However, after signing the contract, I encountered multiple problems, including:Misrepresentation of the Vehicle: The car listed on CarGurus differed from the one I was shown. When I questioned this, I was told to ignore third-party listings, despite the dealership advertising as a ******** Best of dealer.Delayed Delivery: The dealership withheld the car for over a week due to title issues.Unresolved Mechanical and Safety Issues:Shaking Problem: Despite their promise, the dealership later claimed they could not resolve it due to the cars age.Hill Rollback Issue: The car rolls backward on inclines. The dealership falsely claimed it lacks a Hill Assist System, but a ***** service center confirmed this model does include it.check engine light for a disconnected evap hose after only a month.Additionally, I was charged $1,900 for a service contract that was never disclosed when I asked for the total price before signing the contract. When I requested a refund due to their failure to repair the vehicle as promised, I was ignored and later told to email the service manager. Since then, I have received no response.Given these violations of consumer protection laws, I am seeking your assistance in obtaining a full refund. My wife, a teachers assistant, transports children for work, making this a serious safety concern. I urge your office to investigate Eastside Motors to prevent further harm to consumers.Customer Answer

So, in November 2024, I bought a vehicle from ******* at Eastside Motoring who also go by Specialty Auto Sales. At the front end, Lornzo was on the ball. Answering enquiries, and even taking video to show me the vehicles condition. However, once they had my $16K deposit, they stopped being responsive. I now had skin in the game, so they didnt feel obligated to do anything without me having to chase them. There is a list of 12 undisclosed issues that I didn't complain about. The one thing that really bothered me is that they shipped the car with the center rear seatbelt unanchored. The bottom anchor-plate was just hanging from the seatbelt. Thats a serious issue. A fifth passenger would not be secured, and in an accident the anchor-plate which is a 3x3 hunk of metal, would whip around the cabin, hitting the rear passengers. ******* was shocked that it shipped in this condition and offered to reimburse me for getting it installed at the dealer. Well, that was the last time I heard from anyone at Eastside. I sent repeated requests for their agreement that I could take it to a local shop for the installation which saves me from a trip to the dealer and them from paying dealer rates. All I got for the past two weeks is crickets. They never intended to reimburse me. It was just to shut me up.Customer Answer

I have not heard from the business in response to my complaint. Typical of most sub-standard car dealers, they will simply say nothing and rely on whatever issue is being addressed being lost to time.
