      Trying to renew software that I have been using and renewing for at least 15 years, my school secretary used the wrong card to renew (mine) instead of the school CC. [I am an educator.] Immediately contacted AVID with the correct info, asked them to bill the correct card. AVID said NO. Asked again (couldn't believe it!) AVID said NO again. Then AVID billed the wrong card AGAIN. Contacted my CC Company, disputed the charges and got them reversed. Now AVID won't let me renew the software period. I am a Sibelius and Protools user. AVID suggested that I buy it through a reseller now, which is, of course, more expensive. I am stunned that this is the way business is done. :(

      THEY CHARGED ME THREE TIMES IN ONE MONTH WITHOUT NOTIFYING ME BECAUSE THEY WERE UPDATING THEIR PAYMENT SYSTEMS. I NOW CANNOT PAY ALL OF MY BILLS BECAUSE I HAD TO PAY THREE MONTHLY PAYMENTS ALL IN THE ONE TIME. AND THEY WON’T REFUND ME, NOT EVEN FOR JUST ONE MONTH!!!!!! WHAT KIND OF ** IS THAT???!??!??

      Looking at the comments people have already left, mine is nothing new, but I'll add it to the chorus of folks expressing their frustration with this company's billing department. I have been charged multiple times for the same monthly recurring subscription, the subscription itself has been interrupted, I've gotten offers for "deals" it turns out I'm not actually eligble for, etc etc etc. Not to mention the math doesn't actually add up. How does a $299 yearly subscription work out to $38/month? $38/month = $456. Are they charging $157 in taxes, fees or some other thing I am unaware of? Somehow they are billing me 34% more than their advertised price. Also it's impossible to speak with a human about any of this. Just an endless series of email exchanges and chatbot nonsense. I will be cancelling my subscription after having been a customer for decades because I am exhausted by all of this.

      I signed up for a (grey pattern) monthly paid annual subscription 4 years ago. This was after having to switch from an educational subscription. I submitted documents to regain educational status, as I have been in school since. No adjustments, get an email that my confirmation of enrollment doesn't accept my situation. Ok. I'll pay the regular amount (which I thought was monthly). 8 months after switching DAWs I say, "ok, avid has had enough of my student scholarship, time to cancel because I cannot afford it, and I've stopped using it." Try for 3 hours to speak to an actual sales/service representative. Infuriating, and furthermore the cases I raised are not cataloged in the account... ok, that's fine. Just cancel my subscription; Avid did not notify in advance of their nefarious auto renewal, and proceeded to charge me without sending any invoice or email confirmation until after 4 months of the renewal date. I've lost around $300 for absolutely nothing. I will be initiating chargebacks for the entire year. Learn how to cater to yoyr customers because the way you do business relies not on your product, but on your penchant of deceiving and duping customers. That's messed up.

      Changed my account to auto renew and charged my credit card. Told me they couldn't refund me because I didn't cancel before the renewal time, even though they never told it was going to renew.

      They double charged me for my subscription. The only way to enter a support request is to include a "7-digit order ID"....which I cannot find on my receipt, in my avid account, or anywhere else. Yet without this there is LITERALLY NO WAY to dispute. Wow. The system is designed to fail. It's a giant "FUCK YOU". I've been a protools user for almost ******************************** steaming mad.

      Stay away from Avid. High fees, and they have, several times, withheld payments with no justifiable reason. Terrible customer support and difficult to work with.

      AVID STEALS MONEY FROM A HANDICAPPED PRO TOOLS USER OF 28 YEARS! /o/SINCE ****, PRO TOOLS HAS PROGRESSIVELY BECOME THE WORST DAW PLATFORM IN THE ***** AND HAS NO CUSTOMER SERVICE THAT SERVES, THEY SIMPLY TYPE WHAT THEY THINK AND SEND WITHOUT ANY FOLLOW UP OF ANY KIND. ZERO COMPETENT CUSTOMER SERVICE BECAUSE ITS ALL BASED ON ASSUMPTIVE EMAILS, NO LIVE EMPLOYEE INTERACTION, USES AVID LINK TO CHANGE THINGS IN YOUR COMPUTER WITHOUT CONSENT, THE ***** AND INCOMPETENT ACTIONS ARE PROOF THAT AVID SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN.DONT BUY OR USE PRO TOOLS OR ANY AVID PRODUCT!!! ******* AND LOGIC PRO AND EVEN GARAGE BAND HAS BETTER CUSTOMER SERVICE!STAY AWAY FROM AVID TECHNOLOGIES AND WHY DO I HAVE TO GIVE THEM A STAR BBB?       No customer care. The overcharged me and I cannot reach anyone about billing. There is no number and their chat won't prompt a billing issue. I have sent emails and complaints and I have not received anything back. The forms block me from issuing complaint.
