            We wanted to have our home siding redone and decided to go with them. On the start day the contractors did part of the house and asked us our opinion. The siding was great but the trim was not what we wanted. We went and called ************** and he stated that the trim that we wanted did not come in the size of the replacement trim which was not told to us when we talked to him before signing the contract. We had to go with the trim that we didn't want because they had started the project. My. ***** said that he would have the trim painted to make us feel better. When the house was done we called to make the last payment but never received a call. It was 9 days after the house was completed when a man showed up to paint. If ************** would have called within the 9 days of no contact, we would have told him painting was not needed. The painter wanted to pint borders that was not mentioned which made us feel that he wanted us to pay more money...Not Surprised. We call him and told him we was ready to end the project with no painting needed. There was a box and a half material left and told him we would keep the open boxed but if we could be reimbursed for the unopened box. He stated that they (the company) bought the material and that he could come and pick it up. Ahh no we paid for the material so why would we give him something back free that we had paid for. We decided to keep it. BY THE WAY WE ARE OUT OF POCKET MORE MONEY BECAUSE WE HAD TO PAY FOR THE DIFFERENT SIZE IN ****, WHICH IS STILL NOT WHAT WE WANTED.WITH THAT BEING SAID WATCH WHAT COMES OUT THE ***** OF A SALESMAN BECAUSE WHEN THEY GET YOUR MONEY THEY GO **** WE TOLD ************** WE WANTED OUR HOME TO LOOK THE SAME BUT WITH DIFFERENT MATERIAL, BUT WE HAVE TO DEAL WITH THE SIZE OF THE **** THAT IS OFF TO WHAT WAS ALREADY HAD ON THERE. THE 1 STAR I HAVE GOES TO THE CONTRACTOR NOT TO JD Hostetter & Associates.

            We at JD Hostetter saw your review and regret that you did not directly reach out to anyone within the company about the issues you described. We would have liked to have had the opportunity to have receive that feedback directly from you in lieu of being surprised to learn of your concerns in your comments. It would have provided us the opportunity to address those concerns with you. In any case, we have reviewed the estimate, work orders, material invoices, and the before and after photos and are unclear about your comments. The original, signed estimate did not include window trim, however, during the siding installation we discovered the window trim was defective. We reached out to you to discuss replacing the window trim and you acknowledged and agreed that it needed to be replaced. We then proceeded to replace the trim with *********************** prefinished trim to make it look like what was there before. The original, existing trim was not a standard size and we used a traditional 1x4 to match up as close as possible to this original, existing trim. We charged you less than our cost to replace this trim. During the course of the job, we do not have any record of you attempting to contact the Project Manager with concerns about the appearance of the trim. Upon review of the before and after photos of your project, I cannot tell any difference and will gladly provide these photos so we may discuss. Our records also indicate the time frame of your job from beginning to end was approximately 3 weeks. From the day the siding work was completed, the painter was there approximately 3 business days later, but we understand the painter was turned away by you and therefore not allowed to do the final touchups and to go over any other areas that needed to be addressed. With regard to the materials left at the job, we always order excess to ensure that we are able to complete the job once started. The quantity ordered was more than the amount included on your contract. Our standard practice is that any unopened material is returned to the supplier.

            We did reach out to ************** when we viewed the beginning work and saw that the trim was not the same size as the before pieces. He stated to my husband that it didn't come in the size we wanted, but when I later called and talked to him I asked him how long would it take to reorder what we wanted he gave me a time. Weather in the contract or not. WE MADE OURSELVES CLEAR THAT WE WANTED OUR HOUSE THE SAME AS IT IS BUT WITH NEW MATERIAL. So which is it? Did it come in the size we wanted or he just didn't want to reorder it? We also stood out side for 30 min or more talking to the project manager. You should check with him because we had to pay extra for them adding pieces to make it bigger but still not the size we asked for. We had to play phone tag to get some one so filing a complaint got your attention. At the end of the day you got out down payment and then when we had problems we couldn't get in touch with anyone. We called ************** to tell him we was ready to pay and that the job was completed. If he had listened to his messages he would have known not to send out a painter a WEEK LATER. You want us to reach out before filing complaint but are nowhere to he found when we do call. DO BETTER
