My daughter had her car towed on April 10 to the *********** location with a diagnostic test from another shop. Advised by ** that warranty company approved the repair with them doing their own test. 3 weeks later the correct part was received and repairs were complete. Once she received her car back it would not start less than a mile away. They towed it back to shop stating they are just gon replace the transmission. They received new transmission but it was the incorrect one. Once they finally received the correct transmission 2 weeks later it took them another week and a half for installation. Picked it back May 24 and the next day it shut off while driving. The car was once again towed back to shop and it has been there since. Now the first part that was fixed was incorrect for the new transmission. She was promised a rental car since my car has been with them a total of 1 1/2 months due to there error. Never received any information or follow-up. End up spending money out my own pocket to get a rental. She had waiting for a new programmer to come a reprogram the new transmission and they 3p company they are using is not showing up. A resolution is needed as soon as possible. This shop has made so many errors and I afraid to drive it once I get it back.Initial Complaint

On May 21, 2025 at 3:02 PM, I was charged $361.46 by Meineke at ******************************************************** for an evacuate and recharge A/C system service. This service should have included pulling a vacuum, checking for leaks, and recharging the system only if no major leaks were ******** system was completely empty when I arrived, meaning there was nothing to evacuate. They should have pulled a vacuum and detected any leaks before adding refrigerant. After getting home, I used my own UV light and saw a visible refrigerant leak that should have been caught during their inspection.I then had the car evaluated by a second, independent mechanic. He confirmed that there was an obvious leak that should have been caught during the vacuum test, and that his refrigerant sniffer easily detected it. He told me Meineke should not have recharged the system at all and recommended I dispute the charge due to negligent or incomplete service.I believe Meineke failed to properly check for leaks and charged me for a service that was not performed to industry standards. I am requesting a refund or fair resolution for service that was improperly delivered.Initial Complaint

On April 11 i took my vehicle to meineke for repair on my engine lifters. I was told the job will take 12 hours -approximately 2-3 days. As the days go on, Ive called for status on my truck. I was told it was going to be delayed due to wrong parts or waiting on parts. Almost 2 weeks later I was told my truck was ready to pick up. I drove for a couple minutes and all of sudden my engine started knocking really loud especially when I came to stop. I took it back immediately. When meineke was inspecting the problem, Ive noticed my engine was put back together unprofessionally and some parts missing, lose or the wrong way. I told them they had to fix and was told they would have the problems fix soon. Couple days later Ive called because I didnt receive any updates. I was told that they had my truck taken to *** dealership for a diagnostic. Couple days later *** contacted me and told me that meineke installed the head gasket wrong and on the wrong side. It could have caused a serious problem to engine potentially blow the heads. I contact meineke and told them how unsatisfied, frustrated and mad on how they unprofessionally and unsafe they put back my engine. Told them they had to reimburse me for the rentals that Ive been paying for the last couple weeks, lost wages and a partial refund for them doing a very bad and unprofessional work. They towed my truck a day later back to meineke for them to fix it. It is may 10 now and Im still waiting on my truck which I keep getting False information about when it will be done. I was told that I can pick up truck on may 12. As I drove away, the engine started shaking and check engine light came on. Its back at meineke on their 3 attempt to fix. Im also missing covers shield. They said said they cant reimburse me and hopefully they get it done soon.Initial Complaint

Meineke mechanic did damage to my front fender pushing it out of place by placing a **** underneath my vehicle in wrong area. But he won't take responsibility for it. The Manager won't do anything about it either.Initial Complaint

Engine seized due to engine depleted of oil following an alternator replacement, dipstick wouldnt even register. I took it in also for the engine sounds and stalling. Meineke test drove it. I was told it was ok to drive home and come back later so they can inspect the stalling engine, engine light, and noise. Engine seized before I made it home. I have timeline of events, text and email messages between Meineke and myself. Video of oil leak, and witness at O Reilleys also seeing the dipstick and lack of oil.I am seeking replacement long block and my vehicle functioing again. Ran great with only 88k before taking into shop.Alaska Attorney General had agreed to Mediate.Customer Answer

I need you to help me in any way that you possibly can. We live in our car and the water pump went out and it was covered by our warranty so we had it towed to the Meineke and ******** on scatterfield road Tuesday the 17th of July We were told it was a 2-day job. So I called them the day they were starting to ask and if they had the special tools needed to hold the cam gears and the crankshaft and they said they did however we went down there in person and sat for hours on Monday and Tuesday because our car had already been promised to us on Saturday which that didn't happen so they couldn't get the timing right and while we were down there they kept saying they couldn't get to fire up so now it is now sitting over at the **** shop and they have destroyed the engine it needs a new engine and Meineke will not give them an answer I've called corporate twice now and told them our dire circumstances We are on the streets literally my husband is a security officer at nestl and you're going to have to find somewhere to sleep on the streets out there because we can't afford for him to lose his job too We aren't getting anything offered to help us that one Tuesday that ***** manager put us up in hotel for 2 days and say that's all they can do. The manager calls us after has to go over to **** and he orders me not to call the store again they had nothing to do with it He made me feel very ashamed and embarrassed. I called Meineke two days in a row to let them know that **** called them yesterday they said they were still waiting to hear from corporate and they called him this morning and corporate still hasn't given an answer and once the answer is given I was just informed Our car would still be in the shop for another seven to 10 days. We have no one else to help us know where to go and Meineke is not offering us a room they did it once for 2 days only. Called and ask for the price of a inspection told it was free. Had it towed there $125.00 a unauthorized service was done. Asked for a Inspection which was suppose to be free They did a Diagnostic which I did not authorize and made me pay to get the car $197.58. Had to pay to have it towed away $160.00. I would of had to spend all that money if they had of not told me the inspection was free. I want a refund of the money I had to spend of their deceitfulness.Thank youInitial Complaint

I was at the ************ location # **** for an oil change today 10/30/2023 at 3:37 PM. While my vehicle was being worked on, ***** the service writer, informed me of my bill for $24.53. I told him I left my wallet in the truck and needed to go grab it. The vehicle was still in the shop in a service bay. This was at 5:23 PM. I went into the shop to get my wallet from my center console. In my center console I had $220.00 in cash, but my wallet was in my duffle bag on the front seat. I closed the center console leaving the $220.00 cash and grabbed my wallet to pay with my credit card. I paid the bill in the office. *******, the technician, pulled my vehicle around and apologized for taking so long to figure out how to reset my oil light but he finally figured it out. When I entered my vehicle to leave, I checked my center console as I was pulling away and noticed that all of the cash was missing. I turned around immediately and called the store to inform them that I was coming back. When I arrived, **** said that ******* did not take the money and that the ******* was the only one in my vehicle. I told **** that it was there when I went to grab my wallet to pay. He mentioned again they did not take the money. He did not even offer to ask ******* while I was there if he took the money. I walked over to the glass door leading to the shop. The only technician in the shop was *******. When I opened the door, I confronted ******* about the money. He said that he did not take the money. He said that he already texted the owner of the franchise and told him a customer had money missing from his vehicle. ******* kept mentioning that I must have lost it somewhere else. I told ******* that when I went to grab my wallet while my truck was in the shop, the cash was in the center console. Now it is gone. I saw it in the center console when I went to grab my wallet. I feel like this store is covering up the theft of my $220.00 in cash.Initial Complaint

I took my car, a 2016 *********** to this Meineke location on 9/6/23 to have it diagnosed and repaired for the issue of running rough and a check engine light on. The initial diagnosis was that there were several indicator lights on that needed to be addressed they said. The initial amount was over one thousand dollars and I did not have savings to cover that, they offered the Meineke card, so my wife and I agreed to sign up for that. The guy said it would be done the next day, wonderful we thought. But, each day they continued to have excuses why they were not finished. The people we talked to didn't seem to really know what the real problem was, they just kept replacing things and then saying they needed to replace another part and order the part and wait for someone to test it, then wait for someone to read the results, on and on. This went on for three and a half weeks. I am an Uber driver, this is my work vehicle. During this time I have been trying to use my wife's Trailblazer to Uber in. As you can imagine, the gas mileage and rising cost of gas makes this not really an option for working. We are losing money basically. We finally made the decision to move the car somewhere else to be repaired. On 9/25 I had Triple A tow my vehicle from this shop to a different location. At the new location, inspection of the car revealed several vital parts missing, and others visibly damaged. This leads technicians to conclude the best course of action is to replace the motor. This will be another $4,000.00! This might not have needed done, and there is not enough credit left on that Meineke card to cover that! Also, we discovered that the owner of that shop has since sold the store!
