Business Name: Shottenkirk Chevrolet Date of Service: April 10 Amount Paid: Approx. $2,000 Complaint Type: Service Issues / Repair Problem / Poor Customer Service Desired Resolution: Reimbursement for professional driveway cleaning or full refund of payment.Complaint Summary:On April 10, I brought my vehicle to Shottenkirk Chevrolet for service totaling around $2,000. This included replacing the oil pump, sensor, and brake components. Shortly after the service, I discovered oil had leaked all over my driveway and was still dripping from the vehicle at my sons workplace. Upon inspection, I also noticed the windshield washer fluid cap was missingindicating carelessness during the repair. They deny they even looked at the cap but I was told by the service manager that they did an inspection of the vehicle and didnt see anything else that needed repaired before I decided to continue with the discussed repairs.I had to spend part of my day retrieving the car and bringing a replacement vehicle to my son, adding further inconvenience and time lost.Shottenkirk did fix the oil leak and issued a $200 refund. However, they also handed me a bag of soap and told me to clean the oil off my driveway myself. I attempted to do so, but the stain remains, and the surface is still visibly damaged.Given the cost of the original repair, the poor workmanship, and the lack of responsibility shown afterward, I find this completely unacceptable. I have been a loyal customer and have purchased multiple vehicles from this dealership in the past. I expected far better treatment and accountability.Desired Outcome:I am requesting reimbursement for the cost of having my driveway professionally cleaned and a written apology from the dealership for the inconvenience, property damage, and mishandling of the situation.I have pictures I can provide.Business Response

The customer is correct there was a leak. We did fixed the oil leak and discount the bill 200 dollars. The customer made us aware of the stain on his driveway. **** offered the customer a cleaning solution that we use in the shop. **** was trying to be helpful. He did not hand the customer a bag of soap and tell the customer to go clean it himself.
Customer did not call me and say they wanted their driveway cleaned. Customer took it upon themselves to have their driveway cleaned.

I have reviewed the business' response and am rejecting it because:
I sent an email via the website contact email option asking for a full refund in exchange that I clean the driveway myself. I never received any response. The words Go clean it yourself werent used, but handed a bag of soap after I said I wanted my driveway cleaned was (to me) meaning the same thing. I tried the soap and it isnt clean. I tried dish soap and a power washer and I still cant get it clean. My neighbors are also upset over the eyesore. I have no idea what to do other than tell them shottenkirk handed me a bag of soap. I showed pictures of the driveway to **** and a manager he took me to.
Is Shottenkirk going to clean my driveway? Am I getting a refund so I can spend the money on it to be professionally cleaned?
Is it possible to take legal action over this?
Sincerely,
****** ******Initial Complaint

2014 GMC Acadia purchased 08/13/2023. I just bought this vehicle Sat. I tried to open my sunroof today and it doesn't work! The dealership acts like don't care. That have a "tough luck" attitude! The vehicle was advertised with the sunroof and moon roof. I let a car go at a different dealership, mostly for the sunroof/moonroof feature! Now it doesn't work and they want $125 just to look at it! I am disabled and it is the second time since I bought this vehicle I have had to come in for repairs!Business Response

On Saturday April 22nd, 2023 I looked at a truck located at Shottenkirk Chevrolet located at **** ** **** *** ** ******* ** *****. I agreed to purchase the vehicle and initally agreed to purchase an additional extended warranty for $2900.00. I agreed to return on Tuesday April 25th, 2023 with a cashiers check for the entire purchase of the truck.
On Monday April 24th, 2023 prior to paying for or picking up the truck I contacted ****** ******* at Shottenkirk Chevrolet and told him that I would be there the following day to pick up the truck, but had decided I did not want the extended warranty. It should be noted that the extended warranty can be canceled within 30 days for a full refund and it should be noted that I had not yet paid for or taken possession of the vehicle. ****** ******* advised that I would still have to give the dealership the $2900.00 for the warranty, but upon picking up the truck the following day I could sign a form requesting to cancel the warranty and Dealership would immediately mail me a refund check. I reluctantly agreed. On Tuesday May 25th, 2023 I picked up the truck from Shottenkirk Chevrolet in Quincy, IL. I did sign a form that clearly stated I did not wish to purchase the warranty and a check would be mailed to me for the full amount of $2900.00.
On May 8th, 2023, almost two weeks after I picked up the truck and was promised a refund, I called the extended warranty company EG Assurance ###-###-####) to verify the warranty had been canceled. A customer service represenative from EG Assurance stated the warranty had not been canceled. I contacted the dealership who stated they would immediately take care of this issue and a refund check would be forthcoming. On May 11th, 2023 I contaced EG Assurance who again verified the extended warranty had not been canceled. I contacted the dealership again and they still did not provide a satisfactory response to why it had not been canceled or when i would recieve the refund.Business Response

The warranty was cancelled on 4/8, customer has a tracking number. That was done earlier today.Customer Answer

Complaint: ********
I am rejecting this response because they provided inaccurate information. They DID provide a tracking # for the title paperwork that they need to send me. Although that is an additional concern, I did not have room in my original complaint to add that issue due to a limitation on text. I am able to track that paperwork, however it has not arrived yet. They DID NOT provide a tracking number for the warranty check which is the concern stated in this complaint and stated it would be sent on May 18th (over three weeks from the time it should have been mailed). I have been told multiple times that the "check was in the mail" when it was not. According to them the check will not be in the mail until May 18th and I WILL NOT accept this complaint as resolved until I have a check for $2900.00 in my possession based on the fact that the information provided in their response is deceptive and untrue and they have been dishonest in their responses to my concerns in the past.
Sincerely,

I purchased a 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee and the car had a knocking in the vehicle, and they stated that they would fix it. I took the vehicle back and they stated that they fixed the problem. They changed the oil, I took the car back because the car was still knocking and there was no oil in the motor, and they put more oil in the motor and they could not figure out why the motor did not keep the oil. Then the head gasket were ruined, and they tightened the head gaskets , and there is a crack in the engine, left the vehicle at the dealership, because the vehicle did want to turn over and start. came back and they stated that it was a exhaust manifold leak. I turned the car off and turned it back on and drove it home because they stated they do not work on exhaust. I found someone to wield the leak and now the car is not leaking. The car continues to shake every time you turn the vehicle. The car broke down twice on me once going to work, and again on the side of the rode. I had my car towed to my house for the last four days. I still owe 18,000.00 and the cost of repairs are 2000.00 for repairs and I can not afford the repairs. My warrant ended 12/19/2022. I asked the dealership to come get the vehicle and they stated that they do not do that anymore. I want them to fix my car or give me another vehicle.Business Response
