            On May 10th, 2021, my husband and I hired Hawley Home Inspections LLC and had them complete a home inspection on the home we were seeking to purchase. The home inspection report clearly states twice in TWO sections: "there was no evidence of structural damage due to termites" in the crawlspace of the home. Once we purchased the home and began removing carpet in preparation to lay new flooring, we discovered a significant dip in the sub floor. We removed some sub floor to replace it (not knowing it was an issue other than an old home with some slanting since the home inspection indicated no structural damage). We immediately stopped work, emailed Hawley, had to call 2 days later to follow up and then had Hawley assess the damage as well as 2 contractors. We submitted a nearly $7,000 itemized invoice asking for $3,500 to settle and split the expenses incurred fixing the obvious termite structural damage in the crawlspace, that was not noted on our report. They have refused this request.
