Received a letter from Brown and Joseph LLC to pay $50 regarding ******************* stating that This was a debt collection and this being the one last attempt to resolve the issue on an unpaid account. I have been contacted by this company regarding a claim that they say I owe to Nationwide. I advised multiple times that I did not owe this money and told them they needed to send more information. They have asked if I have notified the company and I have. The woman assigned to my case would talk over me, would not let me finish, and the call would escalate as I tried to talk. I never cursed, never called a name, never yelled and she still hung up on me. I called back and the same things are done again and the person said that she could see why the other person hung up my because she said I was aggressive on the call and hung up on me. They say their calls are recorded and I feel like I am being harassed by this company and they want any excuse to hang up the call. If they would listen to me instead of antagonize and talk over me (and they were aggressive with me!). I also see on my phone that they call many times, but never leave a message. I cannot usually answer because I am in HR and in meetings or on a call often, so the fact they call so many times is wrong and then they show contempt and an unwillingness to even listen. Again, this company is harassing me for a $120 debt that I say I do not owe and have asked for proof multiple times. I've asked for a supervisor, but feel this is not going to help. I pay my bills on time and I am challenging this one debt that they say I owe and do not try to provide a recourse. If the calls are recorded, they need to review the calls and provide training. I definitely want to report harassment by a debt collector company. Multiple calls to my number and talking over me which forces me to talk louder and then get hung up on. This is unacceptable and illegal. Again, the calls are supposedly recorded.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: This was not an address to my concern nor was any action taken. Nationwide Insurance fixed the issue from their end, but this company still harassed me and hung up on me on my calls. It was one of the worst experiences I have ever gone through with a company. This company called me non-stop and when I spoke to them, they were aggressive with me, laughed at my frustration, and hung up on me multiple times. I want my response to be registered as UNSATISFIED with their lack of response. The company is aggressive, has negative and hostile people who treat people like they are vile, and refuse to assist in any solutions. I realize a bill collector probably has very bad calls throughout the day, but this is the job the people chose to do and they should treat other with resect as they deal with the various calls they take through the day. I have great credit and this came through to them due to a misunderstanding with my old insurance company, Nationwide. I complained to them regarding this company and they said they were reexamining their business relationship due to the many calls/complaints they receive about this company.
Again, I want to reiterate that this company was absolutely awful the way that they treated me. I work in *************** and deal with a lot of different things and I did not expect this to happen on call with a company that called me. I want my response to be listed as not satisfied with the response. I am not stupid and I know that this will not affect their business in any way, but I refuse to let them get by with a positive outcome on their behalf for supposedly fixing something. This company is absolutely awful and they will bull-doze people with their bad treatment and disrespect and those people may not know how to stand up for themselves. Many who are mistreated will likely not register a complaint, so I am sure that there are numerous complaints against this company that have not been registered. They infuriated me so badly that I even considered hiring an attorney.
Please reach out if you wish to discuss further. However, I realize that the business seems to always win in these situations with their fake replies that they address something. I rarely complain about a company, but this companys actions warranted me to say something to stick up for myself and others who do not use their voice when they are mistreated. As a social media-influencer, I share my good experience AND bad experiences to help others. The BBB was a step more than I usually take, but felt it needed to be done in this instance.

I am rejecting this response because:You may have closed it, but you never explained WHY your company harassed me, treated me badly while on the call, laughed at me when asking for help, hung up on me, and treated me worse than any company that I've ever dealt with. I work in HR and have had bad calls and understand when someone or some company has crossed the line. You can keep closing this file, but I want it clearly noted that your company is unethical in how it treats people and I'm calling you out on it. I want it clearly recorded in BBB and you know that I have no way of proving it unless I had recorded the calls, so you feel safe to lie that you took care of it. Your company should be very ashamed as many people are unable to fight back against your unethical and shameful behavior. If a company is reading the reviews, please take note that this company behaves very badly when it interacts on your behalf. You should think twice before contracting with them for service.

I am writing on behalf of our company (Tomahawk Engineering and *********** ***** that keeps getting harassing phone calls and letters from Brown & Joseph, LLC. The bill in question was due to a change in insurance companies and not from a non-payment. I have attached the email from our agent at ******* **************** that states it has been taken care of and cleared by *************************** Insurance - the insurance company. Every time I try to explain to the law firm/collectors that this has been rectified they will not listen to me nor will they allow me to send the email I am attaching to show it is done - instead they are rude and yell over me. I ***************************** have a business called ******* Electric.I had ****** special commercial ********* comp insurance. i found a cheaper insurance company so I appropriately cancelled with them leaving no balance. Months later after receiving nothing from ****** saying i owe $430 for simply closing out my account the firm ********************** and Joseph are hounding me with scare tactics saying if I don't pay i will have to pay a lot more money at the end of it. They called me ***** -23 and 07-10-23. I explained that i cancelled and the moneys they were trying to get from me had no services rendered or anything. it was purely for nothing and Joseph ******** agreed but said I still have to pay or I will face the consequences of hurting my company and paying a lot more money. Joseph ******** said he had hundreds of cancellation debts on his desk to do. On 07-10-23 by 12:30 pm I have been contacted 4 times already.Business Response

I was sent a collection letter for ********* for a State Farm "outstanding bill". Not only have I NEVER owed 25k to State Farm, but they just refunded me 250 for over paying. I called my representative and they stated that it must be a scam because I have a 0 balance and my company is in good standing. After I verified the information with MY state farm agent, I considered it closed. However, Brown and Joseph have not stopped calling. They are now calling and harrassing me for the money saying that I still owe it. I want this to stop. It is an obvious scam and to top it off, they are rude on the phone as well.Business Response

They are trying to collect money from us when we no longer even have insurance with State Farm! They have been persistent in trying to collect money when there is no money to collect as when we cancelled our insurance with State Farm we made sure everything was in good standing. Something that would also need to happen before canceling our insurance with State Farm. On 4/4/2023, a woman by the name of ***************************, contacted me via email in regard to my companys workers comp policy from 2 years ago. She was demanding money, using scare tactics and even bold faced lied. She said that my husband asked her to email me the *** form to send her the money requested by end of business that day. - my husband NEVER said anything of the sort to ******. She is manipulative, unethical and thinks she can threaten lawsuit and threaten small businesses to scare them into paying monies that are not owed. This is scamming antics, Im contacting my attorney, the attorneys general office as well as consumer entities to report this. This is unlawful, and unacceptable behavior. Not one time in 2 years has the workers comp policy contacted me via email, via phone or via mail service. Then I am informed that *************************** is emailing my mother in laws email which was never a contact email affiliated with our company which was another red flag. This is very scary, and I can only imagine the people that get bamboozled! This should be brought to the Supreme Court.
