      i had an alternator put on there about a month and and now i am having problems. The mechanic bent a bolt that holds the alternator in place and the alternator failed after about a month and did other damage resulting in 400 in additional repairs with a pully. They wouldnt cooperate with me when i called them. I should get reimbursement for my original bill and 400 to fix the issue they caused to my engine.

      Mr. ******** called our store and spoke to the store manager, **** ******.  **** took notes and then called our parts supplier which implements a nationwide parts warranty that starts if the customer is more than 30 miles from our location.  **** *********** of Good Guys Auto Parts called the shop where the vehicle was located.  The shop owner spoke with him and said that he hadn't been able to inspect the vehicle yet.  He was going to do so and call **** back.  Later that afternoon the shop owner spoke with **** and said that a bolt broke and in his opinion the failure was due to age.  He said he didn't think it was a failure of installation or the part installed.  It was ****'s understanding that this was made know to the customer by the shop that did the repairs.  The above was confirmed to me today when I personally called **** and asked me to tell me exactly what happened.  Linder Tire wasn't contacted again by the customer.  The first time we have heard of any issue is through the Better Business Bureau.  As I stated earlier the part and service are covered under a nationwide warranty.  However we were told that it was normal "wear and tear" and was unrelated to services that we provided.  As previously stated there is a nationwide warranty however the necessary repairs need to be related to the part or service provided.  We can ask that it be reviewed but do not control the outcome.
