    On Monday, July 7th,I contacted a company called Car buyer U.S.A. a about selling my car. After filling out my online information I received a call from one employee who made an offer to buy my vehicle for $6360.00 and eighty dollars. I was told I had to do withdrop the vehicle off to do a " vehicle inspection report." After making arrangements to have the vehicle dropped off to the location listed which was an hour away. After dropping off vehicle I called the first company associate I had spoke with to find out when I would know something per his instructions, and they said they would get back to me the following day. The next day I got a call from another different employee telling me that their report stated that my vehicle scored low and that I would have to accept a lower offer which was less than half of what they had agreed on even though I told them all the issues with vehicle. They proceeded to list issues on the report that were either false or inflated. I then proceeded to tell them didn't want to sell it that low and Can I get my vehicle back. They said yes, but it was a big hassle and process to get it back and I'd have to make an appointment and it would take days to get my vehicle back which made it almost impossible to retrieve the vehicle because it was in a secure lot and cant afford to pay 2 tow bills.After thinking about the situation I started.getting a little concerned, so I decided to look up reviews about the company. I then found out that they had over 44 complaints from the BBB in the past 3 years for the practice of bait and switch tactics and predatory practices. I felt trapped so had to accept the lower offer since i was promised to be paid quickly. So I was told to notarize the title and send it to them overnight and that I would receive payment as soon as they got it. So on the day I was supposed to receive the money transfer to my bank account it never arrived as agreed on. So I called the last gentleman I spoke with no response.

    The vehicle you are selling us is from an estate, which requires a lot of paperwork to get a clear title.  This purchase is complex and we just learned that you made a mistake on the title which will prevent payment until we get it resolved for you.  We are willing to do so at our expense, but there is a possibility that we might not be able to complete the purchase if the title is deemed non-negotaible.  Mr ****** we touch ******* sellers each year and we have very good reviews.  BBB has under 50 complaints in 13 years of doing business.  While we think a single complaint is one too many, there are circumstances that create difficulties that cannot be avoided.  Your situation is not common and an excellent example of how sometimes purchases aren't completed with extraneous delay or friction.  We will reach out to you today and provide more information regarding the title & paperwork correction.  If you decide not to continue with the purchase we will take the vehicle back to you.  Regarding the condition and the price change, here are the notes from the 3rd party inspection:  

    2 Prior Accidents, Check Engine Light is ON, Damage Throughout Vehicle totaling to $8400 so the vehicle was obviously used for work and in rough condition.  The price you got from our website presumes excellent condition mechanically and cosmetically which is simply not the case with your vehicle.  We presented the price adjustment and you accepted.  It is 100% elective and you are not bound to accept any price change for damage or mechanical deficiencies.  We understand if you do not want to proceed, but we feel like we are doing all we can to assist you sir.

    The payment for my car bounce. Few days after payment was deposited my ********** stated my account was flagged for suspicious activity. Im 19 years old and just bought a my first car on January 1st from private party and the vehicle was not in the condition stated and soon found I was not able to drive it safely. After a few repair shop was quoted over $3k to fix a car. I only paid 2k for it ,so after speaking with my parents they advised best to sell and find another car in better condition. So got a quote from buyers USA for $1k took their car over they called after the inspection said they could only give $250.00, since I had no choice to fix I agreed was told payment will be deposited in few business days. Few day after deposit do in the account, I received a alert from my ********** stating that my account was flagged for suspicious activity and that my account will close due to fraud, I took the information from ********* show the sale and they advised they cant help the activity is major and it serious fraud. I went to the bank with my mom advised we had no idea the check was fraudulent and we will pay $250.00 they still advised they had to close my bank account. Called Buyers to report it they said payment was good and valid. This was my first account I have had since 16. I have never had any issues or overdrafts. Im very upset and want a payment made and contact with the bank. To try to clear up why this business is associated with flagged and fraudulent transactions and payment. I need answers.

    On April 30, 2025 I spoke with ******* and he explained how the process would be with CarbuyerUsa. He sent me the offer amount and an email that same day to go drop off my 2021 Mercedes E350. I followed all the instructions and dropped the vehicle off the next day. The car was clean, and in great shape. This car has only been maintained at ******** and has ***** miles. I was told ** have inspection results the next day, but it took a week to get the car back. Throughout that time I tried reaching *******, ***** who was the funding manager, could never get through. They were not able to get close to the offer of $33166 due to an issue I wasnt fully aware off with the cars history and it being previously stolen before I bought it. I was fine with that. When picking up my car a week later after drop off, The Manheim Auto Auction location in **********, ** had scratched my registration sticker fully off with a sharp object. This left a scratch and also resulted in part of the tint coming off in that area. They had no reason to take it off as CarbuyerUSA was just having it inspected there. The doors had water lines running down on the inside where it seems the windows had been left rolled down by the staff during the rainy week. There were cake crumbs all in my car, the window/door buttons all over were gunky and sticky. And the panels on the door had began to fade from black to a gray/white color from water/sun damaged or whatever they did to my car. The window buttons were not working immediately like always. I am only the second owner! This car has been babied before. I called ***** and ***** who are managers, ***** told me to give him a couple hours to get this resolved, but it has been a week now and none of my calls, VMs or texts are being answered.

    You obtained a pre-inspected price on your 2021 ************* E350 of $33,166.  

    After the vehicle was dropped off for an inspection, we learned that the vehicle was stolen!  Here are the notes from our 3rd party inspection center (Images attached):

    1.  VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) Plate Missing
    2.  Insurance Title - Total Loss History
    3.  Recovered THEFT

    The price adjustment we presented was in-line and you were not obligated to accept it which you opted not to - so the vehicle was returned to you.  We have no record of any stickers being removed and we did not clean the vehicle at our expense.  We have no idea why you felt we did anything wrong or why you are seeking financial compensation. If you are dissatisfied perhaps you should consider that if you were honest about selling a vehicle that was previously stolen and an insurance total loss, we would have explained that the price will change SIGNIFICANTLY. 

    No assistance will be offered under these circumstances.  It is important to point out that the common theme with complaints on the BBB Platform all align with misrepresentation like this or people not being completely up front about issues/condition items that dramatically impact price/resale.

    I am rejecting this response because: This is not true. WE DID NOT LIE. We were told you all use a different platform to dig deeper into the vin of the car. THIS platform that you all didnt name is where you allegedly found that the care was a total loss. HOWEVER, when entering the vin on CARFAX, this information isnt found, the website states that the vehicle has a clean title and no accidents or total loss is found. When entering the vin on KBB we find the same results, no accidents, clean title, no total loss found. Replying on a public site implying that were dissatisfied because we lied shows me your company doesnt do business well and doesnt care for its customers. Because our complaint revolves around THE CONDITION IN WHICH THE CAR WAS RETURNED. The damage in question is nowhere on YOUR inspection of this vehicle before you quoted us your final numbers. The damage to the windshield, door panels, window switches and dashboard, have NOTHING to do with your assumption that We lied. Weve contacted you all repeatedly concerning the condition of the car and 2 of your employees agree that its unsatisfactory and it should be escalated. None of them called us LIARS because they understand we arent disputing the value, were disappointed with the condition of the car AFTER your inspection. This reply to us is disrespectful, and it shows that you all dont care about the way you all communicate with potential customers or clients. It saddens me to read your reply considering our photos are geotagged and timestamped showing where we were and what time we took these photos. Compare these photos to your inspection photos and youll see a huge difference. Attacking our character is not an appropriate response nor is it professional. I look forward to a swift resolution and a respectful response concerning this matter.

    The Theft Recovery and Insurance Total Loss Payout happened per Experian Auto Check on 10/29/2023.  It was reported in ******* (see below)

    In April 2023, a ******** Title was obtained to "wash" the Total Loss Brand (which is common but also illegal).  The *** plates have been modified and one is removed.  The vehicle is not fit for resale to any source, we offered to buy it at a liquidation price.  While this happened "prior" to you purchasing it, perhaps it would be best to direct your energy to the dealer or person who sold you the stolen Mercedes.  We really don't have the time to go back and forth with you regarding your misfortune.  The vehicle you are trying to sell has detrimental history which severely impacts the value.  While it is quite possible that you did not know about this when you chose to contact our company about the purchase, you have full legal recourse against the seller.  This history MUST be disclosed to the buyer.  You have an open and shut legal claim against whomever sold you this vehicle.  Conversely, you have no claim against CarBuyerUSA and we are not obligated to reimburse you for anything.

    Car Buyer USA quoted me a price, picked up vehicle and then quoted me half the price. I was ok with that as I knew there were some issues. What I am not ok with is the fact that ***** said they would waive the $125 fee since they lowered their price. He told me twice they would waive the fee. When I got my deposit they had taken out the fee. They have you sign off while they are on phone with you so you don't have time to read it. Beware, they are sleazy and small time compared to Carmax and Carvana. They ripped me off.

    They are a fraud. Stay away. They continued to make higher and higher offers for my car 2023 *** forte GT which were $1200 over what the dealer was offering. I spoke to ****, so friendly, filled out all the paperwork, had the car detailed so it lookd like new, and sent pictures. **** confirmed the offer price. I told him BEFORE, I started the process that the reviews on the company were not good, and that customers complained about getting high fake offers, only to find out later after all the paperwork was filled out that the real offer was much less. **** assured me that on a newer car like mine, that the original offer would be honored.. So, after submitting all of the paperwork, the file was sent to ******* the funding manager where I was supplied with an in depth market study which lowered its offer to $19,700.00. $800 less than the local *** dealer has offered me. The first offers are a bait and switch. Don't waste your time with this dishonest fraudulent company. I anmm reporting the company to the State Attorney general's fraud ***** and the States Auto Dealer licensing division. The original offer they give you has no basis in realty. No matter how pristine my car was, based on the mileage I provided them, would they have paid me the $21,800.00 offered.

    Mr. ********* deserves nothing from CarBuyerUSA.   He invested approximately 10 minutes of his time to get an offer on his vehicle, which he declined with a great deal of hostility.  The issue we have is that he chose to use profane, abusive language in text & verbal forms with our employees.  I have attached a text thread as evidence.  

    CarBuyerUSA has a 4.7 Star Rating on BBB and 4.3 Star Rating on ******.  We have operated for 13 years and we touch ******* Customers per annum across the ****  We do not have a lot of bad reviews, rather the contrary.  We contact ***** people all over the *** via text, phone and email each day.  Simple math would demonstrate that our complaint rate is single digits and while we strive to make it zero, it is impossible to please everyone.

    For Mr. ********** our message is clear and was already communicated on ****** Reviews:  your complaint does not even deserve a response, nor we will spend another minute of our time on you as a person.  You are not a patron of CarBuyerUSA and you are an abusive and hateful person.  We will pray that you find peace in life.  Stop contacting our associates please.

    It happened today. I was offered 4280 for my car. They advised that they come get the car and as long as it runs then I get paid. That was the only voices stipulation . The video from the owner on the website stated that the offer given is what I get paid . The video also says that I get paid before I send the title due to them having the car in hand ( usually people send title first keep car but either or works ) they made me send the title then they were going to pay me . Well they lied . I paid to have it brought over an hour away. Then after all they changed the price and gave me 1000. Which I could not afford to go all the way back and get the car. They knew that.

    The vehicle you are trying to sell us is in very bad shape.  (2 images attached).  Apparently it was in a collision on the drivers side and used doors of a different color were installed.  damage to Left Front Fender is unrepaired.  The vehicle scored a grade of 1.3 out of 5.0 possible.  We are perplexed as to why you take issue with the price change?  With several thousand dollars in repairs needed to make the vehicle commercially acceptable and sellable, the $1000 offer we made is quite generous.  To make things more interesting, you posted a screen shot of a text communication admitting that you towed the vehicle in to our inspection site.  We asked that the vehicle is driven because we *** to know that it operates and is drivable as designed.  At this juncture, we are going to elect not to purchase your vehicle and we will be happy to tow the vehicle back to you at no cost.  We enjoy very favorable ratings on BBB and ****** because we try very hard to conduct business in a very straightforward and transparent manner.  Our website pricing is favorable and based upon vehicles in excellent condition - free of damage or mechanical issues.  While many sellers are contracted at original offer, we do adjust for excess wear & tear and damage.  The adjustments we present to the seller are not binding and you have the option to proceed or have your vehicle promptly released back to you.  We will be in touch immediately to provide a status on the transportation.

    My 2 Corvettes, (VIN # ***************** and VIN# *****************) were picked up buy Car Buyers *** on March 6, 2025. They initially told me that I could get up to $9000 for 1 and $6000 for the other. After their inspection they lowered their original offer and offered to payoff my loans and only give me a total of $3000 for both ********* to be deposited into my bank account after the 10 day loan payoff. That time has come and gone and I have yet to see any money or receive any further communication from them! All I got was excuses.If I do not hear from them within the next 2 weeks I will be filing a report of theft and fraud against this company.

    Offered my truck to CarBuyers. They were friendly, but noted that they put me on a robotext that told me they EXPECTED to see my car at Manheim car sale in **********. As instructed, I left the truck at ******* in **********, **. The sale did not bring what I wanted, so I went and picked up the vehicle. No big deal. But I discovered that my ashtray was missing shortly after leaving *******. Texted and emailed CarBuyers. Sent them a picture of the holder with the missing ashtray as soon as I discovered it missing.Someone purporting to be from Carbuyers called. He agreed to compensate me. I agreed that he could simply have an ashtray delivered to make me whole. He agreed and I considered the matter resolved. No response to texts, emails or calls since that day.

    I have fulfilled my obligation regarding the contract. I have yet to receive payment. I was hesitant on sending the title but promised payment would be given as soon as title was sent for vehicle. I have tried calling them and the numbers are going straight to voicemail with no return calls.

    Additionally, there was over a dozen calls and texts made to Mr. ************* We strongly disagree with his statement that we did not return his calls.  CarBuyerUSA did everything we committed to do via contract.  We have not one instance of non-payment in 12 years of operating.  Please remove this complaint immediately.
