Got a call on 5/16/2023 from a person named **** with ICR to call him back and that he had been trying to contact me, this is the very first time to EVER receive a call from a **** or a company called ICR. A few minutes later I get a voicemail forwarded to me from a family member and in the voicemail the caller identified himself as ****, he tried my cell number but was unable to leave a message (weird since Ive got a message on my phone) and that I had used that family member as a reference on a loan..that was really strange since I had NEVER used that family member on a loan and I dont even have their phone number to even list them as a reference for anything! A little research and find that ICR is a collection agent for student loans. I found this odd as my student loans are in the process of being transferred into the federal fresh start program as a prelude to the federal forgiveness/dismissal program! So not only are they trying to collect a debt they arent supposed to be but they are also lying to people they call, contacting family members I never told them to ******* search is my guess to locate that information for any potential family members) and violating several portions of the Fair Credit Act for a debt they arent even the servicing company for.Initial Complaint

This business, or someone posing as this business, calls me almost daily with a recording on the other end of the line. They use a burner number, a local number that shows up as "scam likely" on my phone. They say they need to speak to me about getting my ********* account taken care of, however speaking to the collections agency that I'm already paying off my ********* debt through, I am current and not behind on any payments nor have they sold off my debt to another company. I want these bogus, scammy phone calls to STOPBusiness response

ICR call me a lot of times and threatened me they will *** me in count in the future. The case number is I50778. I never take a class in January 2019. I was sick at that time. My depression gets serious, I was unable to get up from my bed and go to school. The class should be auto-dropped at the beginning. I can provide my medical record. I enrolled in the **************** disability program. But nobody or organization helps me with that. I tried to contact the admission office of ****************, but they just shift the responsibility to me. They want me to afford this tuition, but I am unable to afford it. I was unable to work at all, they just pushed me into a worse situation. Also, I hope ICR stops reporting my account information to three of the credit bureaus. If collection listing on my credit report, it means I will carry low credit in the future. Please help me solve those problems.Business response

I am rejecting this response because: I have sent an email to ICR, but they never reply it. They only will call me and threatened me. I believe I am not the only one who got threatened by ICR, and I am not the last one. I ask for help, and they just said the school want me to pay.
1. I required ICR to adjust the ****, the school should take half the responsibilities.
2. I require a collections account not to appear on my credit report.

2/15/2022 Rebuttal Response: ICR takes all consumer concerns seriously and upon monitoring recorded calls with ********, there were no threatening actions determined. ICR is a third party ************************* that works on behalf of our clients and upon receipt of Ms. *** dispute letter ICR immediately forwarded the letter onto the client. ICR informed ******** of the clients response to her dispute and that if she wishes to attempt a medical petition she may contact ************* Division of student Affairs. Although **************** may have, ICR has not reported to the credit bureaus at this time.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because:
ICR didn't help me adjust the ****. The school should share half responsibilities, the school system should auto drop the class. Now I fail all the classes and have to pay the tuition. ICR and the college claim they understand me, but they still charge me the unreasonable **** and just tell me to go ************* Division of student Affairs which means they don't care what happens to me and push me to another department, but just ask me to pay the ****.
