I am submitting this complaint against United Towing Llc for their failure to comply with Georgias non-consensual towing laws as outlined in O.C.G.A. 44-1-13. Their actions caused significant financial and emotional distress, as they failed to adhere to proper procedures required by law when towing my vehicle.Details of the Incident Unauthorized Removal of Vehicle:My vehicle was towed from a ******* parking lot by United Towing, even though this company is not listed as the authorized towing service on the propertys signage UNITED TOWING did not contact me before removing my vehicle, nor did they provide any notification or attempt to inform me about the location of my truck after the tow. This failure left me unable to locate my vehicle for several days.Non-Compliant Payment Demands:United Towing demanded payment in cash only, which is in direct violation of Georgia law for non-consensual towing. Furthermore, the amount charged was not disclosed to me in advance, nor was it consistent with the rates posted on the property where my vehicle was towed.According to Georgia Code 44-1-13:Towing companies must notify the vehicle owner promptly after towing, providing information about the vehicles location and retrieval process.Non-consensual towing services are required to accept multiple forms of payment, not just cash.Charges for towing and storage must align with the information posted on the property from which the vehicle was ******** failing to notify me, demanding cash-only payment, and charging an amount inconsistent with posted rates, United Towing violated multiple provisions of Georgias towing regulations.Due to UNITED TOWING s non-compliance, I experienced the following:Inability to locate my vehicle for several days, leading to unnecessary stress and *********************** hardship due to excessive towing and storage fees.Difficulty complying with their cash-only payment demand, which left me feeling coerced and unsupported.

On May 23rd, I needed some simple repairs made to my used car, a **** ***** Lumina. I chose a nearby repair shop, *******************************, and on their recommendation, I called United Towing to tow my car there. The cost of the tow was $105.On June 1st, I came to the repair shop to pick up my car. As soon as I began to drive, however, I realized the steering had gone incredibly loose. The car was wobbling back and forth and the tiniest turn of the wheel overcorrected wildly. When I returned to the repair shop, they found that three of the four rear lower control bars had been bent significantly when the car was towed. (Photos enclosed.) The price the repair shop gave me to repair this damage came to $1,050.Since then I have been attempting to get United Towing to pay for the repairs they made necessary. At first they offered to only cover $600 and leave me on the hook for the rest. When I continued to call, they told the driver who towed the car to cover the cost, only for said driver to complain that it was "unfair" to expect him to pay the entire amount. In addition to all of the above, with my car still unsafe to drive, I have had to pay for multiple transports to and from my workplace via Lyft. This has cost me over $110 dollars to date. (I can provide receipts if necessary.)
