      Our firm has had ongoing compliance issues with Datavant. Their billing practices consistently disregard state-specific medical records laws. Each time I provide the exact statutes showing why their charges are incorrect, they respond that it was billed correctly but refuse to cite any law supporting their position because none exists. This pattern repeats with every request, requiring unnecessary back-and-forth and repeated escalation to their legal department before the billing is finally adjusted. Its concerning that a company operating in the medical records space demonstrates such limited understanding of compliance requirements and lacks accountability when challenged with the actual law.

      Horrible. Request for dental records AND xrays from **************************************. I requested more but they only sent a portion. They finally sent dental records but NO xrays and I need them for dentist visit tomorrow. Invoice number is 5200 463 73. still need dental xrays ASAP. And if I owe anything please dont charge me anything. The call center in the *********** has me running in circles. Terrible customer service

      I work for a personal injury law firm in *******. Every time I realize a hospital uses Datavant, my heart sinks. I have been in the legal profession for 38 years and have never dealt with the level of incompetence of Datavant.I have been trying to open a portal with them since October. They keep denying my request. I try to resolve the issue by phone/endless holds. I leave a call back number and they never call back.I can no longer pay invoices on line. The payment portal just crashes. I got a voice mail from Datavant that we had 16 invoices overdue. No kidding - I can't pay them on line. So I called back and left a message with my email requesting the invoices be emailed to me so I could cut checks - never heard back from them again.Emailed the collections department about my problem and my email came back as client in box full. ******************* services is always helpful but don't seem very educated. They're probably grossly underpaid and undertrained - not blaming the people, blaming their employer.I hope this horrible company goes out of business so I can breathe a sigh of relief. I deal with *** all the time - huge records company as well, and getting records/paying bills with them is easy breezy.

      Twice Ive had to call because they messed up with my kids medical records. First time they had the wrong last name which was clearly stated in the form submitted by the **************. They apparently fixed their problem but only sent medical records for one child and not the other. Then when I called to get it resolved they told me they didnt have the request. I have the physical copy of the fax that was sent to Datavant and it has both kids listed in the fax sheet as well as both kids medical release forms. The person I talked to was rude and was not willing to help until I wanted to speak to someone else.

      As an empoyee I can attest that the climate is terrible and they allow bullying as a form of managing their employees. They also discimminate against people with disabilities.

      Attempted to charge me for medical records without prefacing in the initial paperwork that there would be any kind of fee.Also could not give me a confirmation number or confirmation email stating that the fee was waived when I called about the fee.

      I work for an attorney and this is the worse portal for retrieving records and itemized statements. They over charge. I just received records today and 96 pages of the 212 pages were copies of the patient's ID and ********************** insurance card. I have to call them daily for problems with billing errors and incomplete medical records. Also they are always sending me NO BILL and NO RECORDS NOTICES. When in fact I know that our client was seen at the facilities that I request records and bills from. Then when I call them to tell them that there is a record or bill they say they will reprocess and it takes them another 7-10 business days. This is no way to conduct a business. I wish these medical facilities knew how horrible this company is so they wouldn't use them. Also, I think it's absurd for them to charge to tell us that there is no bill or record. Many times there are duplicate requests on the portal and they charge you twice for the same request. It is such a waist of my time to keep calling them.

      We request records from 100s of providers. Anytime we see datavant, formerly ciox, we know we will only get half of what is requested, if we are lucky. **************** is non existent. They never revisit rejections or correspondences when the error is on their side. It took me a year to clear up where they were double billing us for their address error. It is just the worst experience, every time.

      A request for my medical records was submitted on December 11, 2024. My medical providers released these records to Datavant on January 24, 2025. However, despite multiple follow-ups, my insurance company has yet to receive them.I have contacted Datavant numerous times and received conflicting reasons for the delay. On February 20, 2025, I was assured a supervisor would call me within 30 minutes, but I never received a callback. I followed up again today, February 27, only to face further delays and unresponsiveness.I am battling a terminal illness, and my insurance benefits are at risk of being discontinued due to this delay. I fully understand Datavants protocols and have expressed my willingness to comply with any necessary steps to expedite this process. However, the lack of urgency and accountability in handling my request is deeply concerning.I implore you to take immediate action to release my records to my insurance company. Time is not a luxury I have, and I should not have to spend what little remains fighting for access to my own medical records. Please address this matter urgently.
