I signed up with Credit MRI about 1 year ago after being referred by a friend of mine. Over the last year, I had several items deleted/removed from my report. However, in the last month when I try to login the website states service no longer active even though there has been zero communication from the company and they are continuing to charge me a monthly fee of $21.99. I have attempted to contact the company with no success. I feel like this company is not worth doing business with. I hear good things about Lexington Law, check them out before enrolling here.Initial Complaint

Hello: I enrolled in credit MRI to assist me with my credit. On December 3 2021, they charged me $254.00 in which they said they removed a charge for direct tv for me in all 3 credit bureaus. A few months later I saw it on my credit report. The charged that they say was "removed" was actually bought out by other debtors so they didn't remove anything from my credit report. I have spoke to a **** **** and she stated she will talk to her manager about my refund and haven't heard back...it's been over a month. Please helpInitial Complaint

They claim "no up front costs" yet charge a $150 setup fee. Thats an up front cost. Terrible!!!! Most importantly, they hide the credit card information that you give them so months later, when you go into the portal to remove your payment method, After 120 days, no progress of any kind, yet I still have to make monthly payments on the credit reporting they make me pay for, EVERY MONTH! When I call and try to cancel, they tell me I can't until the end of my monthly cycle. SERIOUSLY? Then, when that date arrives for the end of my monthly cycle, they tell me that I refreshed my credit (which I did not) so that wasted their entire 30 days of hard work, so they insist I continue another month before I cancel. Their portal confirms that "0" accounts have been removed from my credit reports and "0" accounts have been repaired. This information is not accurate though. I had multiple accounts on my Credit Report that reflected "Good" information but as reported by others who got scammed by Credit MRI, they had my good information removed, causing a huge DROP in my credit score. Given this I do not want to be forced to go into another month of their service. I want my account cancelled NOW. They have had many months to accomplish something and my credit report has gone down since they took over my credit repair. Their claim that I "refreshed" my credit report is a lie. Their portal does not allow for me to see the credit card they have on file and it also does not have a selection for me to cancel my account. Barron R. is the owner. His cell is ************. Please call him directly if you can. I have spoken to him on this number, and texted so its working. Now that he knows I want to cancel his company for lack of performance, he has gone dark on me. I have sent him numerous requests and he no longer answers. When I call CREDIT MRI directly, they tell me a Manager will call me back. That never happens. This company is a scam! Please help.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 10, 2022/06/13) */ Credit MRI does not charge upfront money. Any set up fee is applied to the first invoice that accompanies deletions from the credit report in 30 to 60 days after sign up. If we do not get client results, client does not pay any money at all. Credit Card information has to be hidden for security reasons. This is the law. Clients have to pay for credit reports while repairing credit. This is how Credit MRI knows what to work on and for client to see improvements. This monthly fee is to the credit bureaus, not Credit MRI. As you can read in this clients complaint, the contradictions are astounding. Client was never charged a dime. Client was over extended on his bills and was late on current obligations which made his credit score drop. Credit repair is only successful if the the client pays current bills on time, does not contact the collection agencies we are disputing with and does not continue to acquire new collections. This client failed at all of these. Credit MRI had to block this client from our phone lines for calling and harassing the staff. He was blocked on employee cell phones for inappropriate texts all hours of the night and weekends. Credit MRI has been in business since 2009 operating on a pay for performance basis. We work on thousands and thousands of customers per year with great success. With any business, you get clients like this one that never read your contracts, never listen to the advice you give and constantly get in their own way. In the end, this client will have bad credit for many years to come unfortunately. Should be noted: client was with several other credit repair companies before Credit MRI, with the same complaints and zero results. Feel free to contact us for any verification on our pricing or policies.Initial Complaint

I hired them to repair negative items on my report. I had 10 on experian, 3 on transunion and 2 on equifax. They made me sign up with a paid credit motoring service stating they don't work with free agencies. Which is odd as they provide the same exact info. Anyway I paid over $60 for that in the course of 3 months. Creditmri claims they can repair items in 1 month. Not true. I got the bill from them for $220 for supposed repair. Which so a bogus invoice as I still have the exact same number of negative items on my report. They did nothing. The repair they claim to do was for an old account which was not negative that fell off my report due to age. I need this invoice voided immediately and cease any relationship with this business. I should have listened to other claims against them that state they did exact same thing to them as they did to me.. very sad as I had trust in them.Initial Complaint

I began using Credit MRI Nov 2021, canceled Feb 2022. I cancelled only because I didnt see the results I was hoping for. In January I contacted a collection agency so I can pay a balance that was owed. I paid this balance and then disputed the collection as paid in full, a few days later Credit Karma notified me of the results and the collection was removed. Credit MRI then charged me for the removal as if they removed the collection. The first time I called in regarding the charge the gentleman was nice but explaied that there is a contract and it's a valid charge. I told him I have the proof that Credit MRI did not do the work and the collection was removed by me. He requested I uploaded the documents to my Credit MRI account which I did, and I never heard back from anyone. I tried to check the account online and it now looks to be inactive. I called in March and spoke to Travis, in short he told me it's my fault and Credit MRI earned the money that was paid. Here a few words off Credit MRI's website: "You pay nothing until we deliver; Pay nothing until we deliver results first. If we do not deliver then you pay nothing. Period.; Why would you pay up front fees and hidden charges? With CREDIT MRI you pay no up front fees. You only pay when we deliver results." Travis continued to stand on "well it's in the contract." After 5 more minutes of him trying to justify the charge he hung up on me. I have zero issue paying the $149.00 set-up fee, I have no issue with the $35.00 charge for a medical collection that Credit MRI removed. I was charged $100.00 for stipulations you know people wont notice they've agreed to. Just like your website states, why should I paid a hidden fee, I only pay after you deliver results. Credit MRI did not deliver the results for what I was charged.Initial Complaint

I was charged by credit MRI over $100 for removing a collection that I paid off and I had removed not credit MRI. I have all the paperwork to prove that I alone removed this specific negative item from all 3 of my credit agencies. I alone paid the collection agency and I alone through my attorney had them removed. And once I had them removed I was charged by credit MRI for removing it when they did nothing. I have been trying to contact them and left several messages and no calls back. I would like to be refunded and cancel any further involvement with them as I'm in negotiations with my attorney to remove more collections and refuse to be charged for a service that was never done. Also they haven't removed anything but 1 inquiry in 6 months.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 11, 2022/01/25) */ Contact Name and Title: ****** ***** Contact Phone: XXXXXXXXXX Contact Email: ******@creditmri.com Client never canceled with us before his "attorney" started working on his credit. As stated in our agreement, if client is having us work on 30 day net terms, we will charge for any and all deletions because we are still disputing on clients behalf. Client never sent proof of disputes from attorney to prove his case anyways. As far as only removing Inquiry in 6 months, this is also false. Credit MRI does not work on Inquiry's. The item removed for this client was a Child Support Collection. Proof is attached.Initial Complaint

I was charged on 6/21 for a dispute I had filed myself and, as a result, had used this as a basis to cancel my services with the company. They then informed me that I was in "Violation of Customer Agreement" and sent me an invoice that is labeled as refundable; which I refuse to pay since I was not informed that there would be a charge to cancel and the invoice states it as refundable. I was immediately locked out of the account I had with them and, as such, lost access to my invoices. I will not be charged for services that were not rendered, nor will I accept being penalized for complaining about the services I received.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2021/07/23) */ We have reviewed our internal quality control audio recordings as well as our electronic communications. We have the client on audio agreeing to the very terms by which he is filing this complaint against, however, we will cancel the invoice as requested and consider this closed. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2021/07/30) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Despite stating that they would cancel the invoice on 7/23, they attempted to bill me on 7/28 and maintain that I still have an open invoice. They lied about the resolution that they offered and would have instituted a fraudulent charge had I not closed the credit card linked to that account out of concern for their potential actions. Business Response /* (4000, 19, 2021/10/18) */ This is a verbal reply taken by BBB: We have an automated system, the notice went out without us realizing. They are on our do not contact list, our original reply still stands we have agreed to waive the balance off their account.
