    ***Amount paid: $1050.00
    ***Company Commitment: Move belongings from storage unit (******** ******* ***** *** **** ***** * ****** to *** **** ********** **** ******* **** ****** $175.00 per hour, 3 hour minimum.
    ***Nature of Dispute: Intentionally turning this small, short distance move into a 6 hour marathon to extract more money from the customer. After the 6 hour ordeal, there was extensive damage to the furniture. So, even with D2D movers taking 6 hours, I end up with damaged furniture anyway.
    ***The Business has done Nothing to resolve the problem other than to accuse me of "lying". The person I'm dealing with is named "****" and his texts read like this:" ....there is something wrong not right with you. You are obviously blaming us for something that you or your other movers did...that gash is older than the gyu that moved you...you complained about money...you are obviously looking for money or free something...if you want free stuff don't call professionals best time...stop harassing me...definitely not sorry about that. I documented all your text....you must have a crappy life" (I can upload the texts soon)

    The job took 6 hours total , coming from a 4th floor storage facility with an elevator and delivering to a second floor apartment with stairs. The move took the normal amount of time gong from a storage unit to the elevator wait for the elevator to go down and open bring the stuff to the truck  several trips of this then driving to new apartment and the same bringing everything upstairs at new location. Our guys definitely got their steps in so yes sounds like a marathon of walking for them. 
    I received a call from her during move complaining about time and then after move several paragraph long texts for several days after. Then after several texts about cost of move and a bag of fins she swore we had left on truck ( which she found in her apartment) came the texts about a scratch on armoire and then a scratch/dent on kitchen table , both look old and seem to be previous damage since nothing in her storage unit was wrapped or protected. 

    She has  never asked for a repair or a solution to her unwarranted and constant harassment.

    I am rejecting this response because:

    All of the furniture was covered, except the table due to it's size. The mover himself admitted they damaged the table once they got it upstairs, then retracted the admission. The table has three deep gashes and a long scratch mark as a result of the movers. Period.

    The Armoire was covered with a cloth-cover I myself had purchased. The cloth is now torn as a result of the Door2Door moving Company. The Armoire has a huge deep gash as a result of the movers. Period.

     

    The ONLY helpful sentence, which lamentably is a Company Owner lie: "Nothing was covered" does demonstrate Clearly that his company does Not Bother to protect customer's valuables with D2D cloth or plastic, during moves.

    Reputable Moving Companies respectfully make sure to cover customers' furniture.

    My statement, to share with the public and the Better Business Bureau:

     

    1. This company makes no effort to protect customer's property during moves even when the customer themselves have covered and protected their furniture.
    2. This company refuses to take responsibility for damage they cause to customer belongings.

     

    Resolution: I will never recommend D2D to anyone who asks but do wish for the D2D Owner be given my response to his last correspondence.

     

    (Thank you, ******* ******, for assisting me with this Company. I am never too old to learn, and I was stressed out from my mother passing away so didn't do my due diligence in finding a Moving Company. I have blocked his cell number. A lesson learned.)
