1 starThis company is horrible.. they sent an inspector out to my home for $175 . He told us everything looked good. When we got the report he said we had a double tap and there was aluminum wiring needed to be fixed by a licensed electrician and that cost us more $$$ the electric said the inspector didnt know what he was doing, the aluminum wiring was for our stove, separate from other wiring and very common as long as it wasnt connected to other wiring. Then the double tap was a doorbell and the electrician said that was not a big deal to double tap for a doorbell but he did disconnect it anyway. I sent the photo and bill from my electrician so they could give me an updated inspection but nooooo I have to spend another $50 for the same inspector to come out and take 4 screws out of the electrical panel look at it and replace the 4 screws, even though I sent the photos to them already. This business is very unprofessional and all they want is your $$$. They write up trivial things just so you have to pay them more $$$ to come out and and give you a clean inspection. Very unprofessional!!!Review fromBrycen G

My new insurance company recommended DMI and I will never use them again. I scheduled my inspection, had it completed, and was invoiced for a price that was agreed upon on initially only to find out later they wouldn't release my documentation and were requiring that I had to pay an extra $100 for the rest of my inspection reports or else they would not release them. Absolutely terrible customer service. Not to mention I had asked the inspector after walking through the inspections with him if there was anything I should look out for or be expecting on my report, and he told me no that everything seemed fine, only to find out later he marked my inspections for things that he didn't even bring up to me in person. Just overall a horrible experience and a waste of my money as they held my reports for ****** until I had to pay an extra $100 that was not initially agreed upon. I would never use this company again.Don Meyler Inspections

Good afternoon ****************,
We were terribly sorry to hear of your negative experience while using our services. I left you a message today in an attempt to discuss your concerns, and my understanding is that the manager of our Post-*************************** did, as well.
That said, we are a bit confused by your complaint about our pricing as our notes show that you have discussed this issue at length with our Scheduling Director who provided you with a copy of your initial scheduling call from 4/3/2024. On this call, the scheduling representative provided you with a quote of $215 for the Wind Mitigation & 4 Point on the main structure and an additional $100 for the detached garage structure. At this point in the call, you mentioned that your agent had informed you the price would only be $250 but that should be fine. The scheduler explained that the difference is related to the secondary structure and the inspection was then scheduled without issue.
The reason that we initially only released one set of inspections is that you made an online payment of $215 but had not made the additional $100 payment for the secondary structure. We thank you for making that additional payment yesterday afternoon and see that the reports were promptly emailed to you.
Regarding your comments about the report, I would be very happy to discuss this with you.I can be reached at *********************** at your convenience. Thank you very much!
Regards,

1 starThe inspection report was not completed in entirety. The inspector was given access to the attic( as agreed upon when scheduled)"Access: To maximize the chances of successfully identifying and photographing these features, the inspector will require access into any attic spaces to obtain information about the roof. Any opening protection on the premises will also be available to be inspected (hurricane shutters, impact glass, etc.). While panels or shutters do not need to be installed or "up" at the time of the inspection, they must be on premises and any required permanent attachments (such as tracks, mounting brackets, anchor bolts, etc.) need to be installed to obtain credit.", but did not lift the insulation to view the hurricane straps as they indicate that would be the homeowner responsibility. The wind mitigation report submitted to USAA was incomplete.I asked for a refund as I still need to submit a completed report to USAA and customer service stated that was not their issue. A supervisor was not available and no recourse givenReview fromElizabeth W.

I had a wind mitigation inspection done on February 2, 2023. The inspector was on time and seemed to do a thorough job. My problem is with the lack of customer service and response after the report is delivered if there is any problem with the report. There is an incorrect photo on page 1 of the supplement on the report. It is obvious It is a photo of a completely different townhome or villa than mine. I have called three times asking for a corrected report and they still have not addressed this issue. I don't feel good about sending the report to the insurance company with the incorrect photo.I have also appealed to their research department about the lack of notation for the impact windows noted on the report. There is a label on the windows that was photographed at the time of inspection clearly showing that they are impact rated, but they refuse to even review the label and provide a determination. Their lack of responsiveness is very frustrating and disappointing. I have also sent emails to their research department using the contact email provided and there has been zero response.Don Meyler Inspections

Good Morning ********************,
We are terribly sorry to hear of your negative experience while using our services. I have reviewed the notes related to your inspection and see that your case was examined by multiple folks in our ******************** as well as our Professional Engineer and Office Manager.
The issue with the windows is that we do not have any documentation to substantiate them as being impact rated, which is required by the mitigation form. We have reviewed the photos of the stickers found on the windows, which only describe them as "wind tested". We also reviewed all of the nearly 70 permits pulled on your building and found that none of them are for impact rated windows. If you have any additional information on the windows, such as an invoice from when they were purchased, we would be very happy to review it for compliance.
Regarding the incorrect photo on the inspection, we agree this was a mistake and the report has already been revised and re-sent to you without its inclusion.
Once again, I would like to apologize for your experience and would also like to offer to speak to you directly to discuss any questions or concerns you still have. I can be reached directly at ***********************. Thank you very much!
Regards,

1 starOur HOA of *********************************************************************************************** repaired. With all time high insurance costs, we needed to know the age of our roofs verified by a reputable company. THIS IS NOT THE COMPANY. Information was not sent to us until after an email and call. Info gathered by them was NOT complete or accurate. Several brand new roofs were listed as being much older. After several emails, there has been no resolution. It was a waste of several thousand dollars. BBB is not doing the area any favors by giving the company a favorable rating. Look around and find someone else is possible.
