Went to GCMC for help with ED. They asked what I was currently taking and what I’ve tried. I told them I was taking Rx testosterone and had tried viagra, cialis but it causes congestion and headache. GCMC prescribed caverat injections 10-20ml - idk if it was mg or ml so we will just say units - and sound wave therapy. I took the product home and it did not work at the 10 unit dose. Tried at 20 unit and that resulted in overdose. Tried 15 unit with no effect. I called 5x over the next 2 months. Couldn’t get anyone other than receptionist and no callbacks. Finally made contact with office manager April 18. I explained I had been trying to reach the clinic for help to no avail. They said they had, “moved phones around” 2 months ago. The office manager said that since I experienced the overdose, the product did in fact work and there was no issue. I informed them that while I was unable to make contact, I visited a thorough Dr in the area. He asked if I had tried the Cialis in a lower, daily dose. I had not. He prescribed that and it worked perfectly. I asked GCMC why they didn’t ask and try that. They said because I told them I tried it and it didn’t work. This isn’t right. We didn’t discuss low dose, they are not / were not thorough. The office manager said that it wasn’t possible for that to work and that it would not work for long because ‘your body gets used to it’. I reminded him he is not a Dr. He said he would get with the Dr and call me back. He did not. They were unreasonably unempathetic and would not entertain refund. They’re resolve was to come in for remedial injection training. Unwilling to hear or understand, injections were never necessary. Healthcare providers are supposed to be thorough and go with a minimally invasive, minimal pain mild, progressive approach. These guys go straight to the sledgehammer crack a nut where a little inexpensive pill was all that was needed. I deserve a refund for products not neededBusiness Response

This is Hunter, Manager at Gulf Coast Men's Clinic in Pensacola, responding to the complaint turned in by Brandon ****. # 54461311-67165
Mr **** came in on Jan 18th, 2023 with ED. He saw our Provider. He told our provider that Viagra an Cialis didn't work to well and had side-effects; which is very normal for those meds. Our provider prescribed him ICI meds because they work much better and rarely cause side effects. Our Medics trained him on how to use the meds. The dosage prescribed was 10 - 20 units per dose. The medic told him to start out with just 10 units and if that got him 80 - 90% erect then go up to 12 units next time and that should be the optimal dose. If 10 hardly did anything then go up to 15 units to see what response that gives. If 15 units gets him where he wants to be then stick with that if not go up in 2 unit increments, and not to go above 20 units without calling us.
About 3 weeks later Mr **** came back in. I was with a Patient but I did see him with a female. The notes say he came in to be retrained because he was having trouble dosing himself because of an ailment with his arm. The medic that saw him notes that we tried to talk him into us preloading his dosages, but Mr **** didn't want that and that he wanted us to train "his girlfriend' on how to dose him. Which we did. The medic did note that the girlfriend wasn't to enthused about her having to dose him.
About 3 weeks later Mr **** calls my phone and I answer. He asks me why didn't we try Viagra first. I pulled up his chart and it's clearly noted that on his initial visit he told us that he tried Viagra and Cialis in the past and it didn't do much and caused side effects. He said yes that they did but he went to another Dr and they put me on low doses of Cialis (5mg) and it works pretty good. I told him that's odd because he told us that 20 mg of Cialis didn't work for him. He stated that I wasn't a Dr. I told him he was correct but that you didn't have to be a Dr to know that if 20mg doesn't work (as he stated) then why would our Provider want to put him on a lower dose. He confirmed that 20mg didn't work.
Mr **** asked if he could have a refund now that the Cialis works. I told him unfortunately no because we spent the money on his meds and supplies and sent it all to him, and just because he wants to do the Cialis now that doesn't meet the refund policy . Then he told me that when he tried 10 units it didn't do anything nor did 15 units, and when he went to 20 units the erection lasted longer than he would like. I told him that if 15 units didn't do anything and 20 worked to long then he probably dosed himself wrong with the 15 units. I checked with our provider and the provider agreed that if 20 units worked to long then the 15 unit dose should of been the optimal dose, so he probably dosed himself incorrectly with that 15 units. The provider advised for Mr **** to come back in to let us dose him correctly. I told Mr **** that, and he stated that he doesn't want to use the ICI meds. I told him again that unfortunately we can't give him a refund because in the US meds can't be returned; the state doesn't allow it.
After reviewing everything, all procedures were conducted correctly. When I went over everything with him on his first visit, I myself told him the problems with Viagra, Cialis, and Levitra and told him that by the time most patients come to us they have already tried them. I asked him if he had and he said "yes, Viagra and Cialis and they didn't work well and caused issues. I explained why they cause those issues. I do that with all patients. I explained how the ICI meds work differently and are more effective. His test dose worked perfectly. He purchased the meds and signed all the docs. We just can't refund someone for products we purchased for them because weeks later they want to try something else. No company, Dr office, nor Pharmacy could/would.
In addition, in Mr. ****'s complaint to the BBB, he states that he told me that he "overdosed". That is not accurate at all. He NEVER told me he "overdosed". He uses that word very loosely in his statement several times and that is highly misleading and not the case. This isn't the type of meds that a person can "overdose" on. It is extremely safe, even if a patient takes more than is advised. Him stating that is very unethical. He needs to come back in like we advised so we can dose him correctly and show him the correct units to use.
Thanks,
Hunter

I am rejecting this response. The story provided by Hunter the office manager is inaccurate and fantastical. I didn’t come back in, I don’t have a girlfriend. The Rx was for 10-20 on the paperwork, 15-20 on the bottle, no discussion ever of 2mg incremental dosing ever and the test dose did not go perfectly - I had to receive a 2nd one. If there was a record and he reviewed it and he was truthful, his account would be far different. It’s plainly dishonest. He’s talking medicine and making if this then that assertions but he is again not a Dr.
The only thing relevant surrounding the why in a refund in this case is that refund is warranted because the stuff was never needed. A thorough Dr would start at square one and go forward. Not start at step Fand go directly to step R. Crafting a story in which refunds are unimaginable does not make it true. Everyone makes mistakes. They made several. A respected business or Dr would admit when they made a mistake and do whatever necessary to correct the situation when possible. They should refund and they should have to eat it. I think anyone of sound mind would agree. Hunter is flippant and obstinate and again, a respected business wouldn’t have someone like him out in front. I’m going to make consumers aware and tell my story everywhere I can. This is a bad business that shouldn’t be able to continue to take peoples money under the guise of healthcare.
Sincerely,

Mr **** is being very irrational, which is somewhat understandable considering the only thing that would satisfy him is a refund. He keeps pointing out that I'm not a Dr for some odd reason. I just reread my original response and I made it very clear that all the info that I typed was noted or told by our Medics AND our Provider. Our provider, AGAIN agreed that if a patient tells him that a certain med caused side effects and didn't work he (nor any Provider) would not prescribe nor suggest it again if there were other options. As Mr **** has already admitted, he told us that Viagra and Cialis did not work well and caused side effects. What our provider prescribed worked and didn't have side effects. Mr **** is incorrect in saying we should have tried something less severe. A lot of our patients prefer ICI over the pills (Viagra, Cialis) because ICI has no side effects. In a lot of providers opinions ICI is a less severe. Viagra and Cialis open your vessels all throughout your body causing severe side effects, and can cause other issues. The ICI meds do not do that. So, Mr **** is actually incorrect in what he's saying. This is coming from our Provider's/Dr's NOT just me, who Mr **** has pointed out am not a Dr.
I just confirmed with our Provider and our Medic that Mr **** DID come back in with a female. That was presumptuous of our staff noting "girlfriend". I do apologize for that. I assume they just thought if a patient wants a female to administer meds to their genitals and that female is not their wife than she is a "girlfriend". Mr **** and the female was put in room #1. Everything that I typed in my first response is accurate according to our notes, Medic, and provider. I also, just checked Mr ****'s photo ID and confirmed that the person that I saw that day at our sign in window was Mr ****.
Everything was done correctly, all procedures were followed, and all documents signed. The mere fact that he's saying that I'm being "flippant" and "obstinate" shows that he's being irrational. My attitude has been very respectful. In addition, our opinion on not refunding is based off of what Mr **** told us in his initial appointment, and that the meds worked as they should. We can't refund a patient because they claim they went to another Provider and that Provider put them on a med that they themselves already told US they tried, caused side effects, and it didn't work. If Mr **** NEVER told us that he had tried Cialis and it didn't worked and caused issues, then we WOULD have possibly went over Cialis and the ICI with him, notified him of the differences, and probably would have asked him which he'd prefer. The statement that MR **** makes, in his last response, about "Not starting off with step F and going to Step R" just isn't accurate at all. Again, ICI is a lower step then Viagra and Cialis to most people simple because (again) the ICI works better and doesn't effect your heart nor brain at all like the Viagra and Cialis does. We have patients come in weekly that are taking Viagra and/or Cialis and they want to switch to ICI because the side effects are so bad. Come to think of it, we've NEVER had patient on ICI come in wanting to switch to Viagra and/or Cialis.
Please know, that just because we aren't willing to give a refund doesn't mean we don't care nor that we do not take this seriously. Also, please keep in mind that people are always allowed to tell about their experience about a situation but please be accurate and don't use slander. Slander is crossing the line.
Thanks,
Hunter

I am rejecting this response because Gulf Coast Men's Clinic gave me medicine that I did not need and they refused to make it right like any reputable business would. They were not available for follow-up. They are not thorough. They are not professional. They are blatantly dishonest. I came in there once. Never came back. Not by myself, not with a girlfriend, not with my wife. Every detail in their account in their 1st response was completely made up. There is no rationale in their response that a Doctor or lay person could consider reasonable and GCMC knows it. You are not fooling anyone.
GCMC is clearly only concerned with getting money and not healthcare, not patient care, not even with being reputable. They flat lied repeatedly and rampantly in their responses. I did not expect them to provide the refund though they know as well as I do, they should have returned my money for this botch. GCMC is so unreasonable and unprofessional that holding themselves accountable is absurd. The responses from GCMC perfectly paints the character of this place and what goes on there and anyone reading these statements will know know not to go there.
Slander is the action or crime of making a false spoken statement damaging to a person's reputation. I have been 100% honest and exaggerated nothing. GCMC does not know what it means to be honest nor what slander means.
You are wrong and you know it.
