I'm sorry still not happy with sod installation my last contact I asked why he didn't replace dead sod south side of house he replied with different discussion that he had with ********; about other side,he replied it would be another $320.00 for sod, really after I spent almost ***** for dead sod, *** discussed called to told them not to come back, I have dead sod through our entire yard they never even came and looked at dead backyard once it's dead and continues dead and they want me to pay more,I paid for new sod not dead patchwork and pray it comes back ,waste of money ****** learnedSincerely,

This now also a civil litigation because they took 8000 dollars and put in dead diseased sod that is no better than when and how it was installed and is now worse and needs to be replaced and there is no other option but to replace it we tried three times to have them install new sod which is what we purchased this is a horror and a nightmare that they sold.me deceptively this is more.like discounted sod and was a deliberate act of deception when this was supposed to be a new lawn and is a criminal act of grand theft

Sod is indeed a living product, and its survival depends on several factors, including proper installation, adequate watering, and suitable soil conditions. It's essential to maintain proper care to ensure the sod's health and vitality.
Because Sod is a living product, we do not warranty it. As a gesture of goodwill we did replace over 5 and a half pallets for you, although we were not required to. Our contracts specifically state that care and maintenance of the new lawn is the customer's responsibility. Under that is states that we recommend that customers use a professional lawn care ********************** for their new sod.Initial Complaint

We hired P & R Sod to remove our grass in the front and left side of the house and install St. Augustine grass on March 20, 2023. After several weeks, areas started turning brown and dying. We hired a professional service to come out and spray the yard as recommended by ******** to do so. However, the grass that is finally coming back does not look like ************* but more like weeds and another type of grass in the areas where the grass turned brown. After contacting P & R Sod, they refused to do anything about it and blamed it on us and terminated the call without a resolution. We live in a deed restricted area and are expected to maintain our landscape in accordance with the community rules. That is why we hired P & R Sod. Can you offer any advice or recommendations on how to get a resolution to our problem?Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: We are not satisfied with the sod that was originally laid down. They estimated how much sod was to be laid down and ran out of sod the first day. Then they argued that we were wrong about where the sod was to be laid, but on the original contract showed where the sod was to be laid for ***** sq. ft. of ************* Sod. They came after 3:00 on a Friday for the initial removal of our sod. They argued about the placement of the new sod and removal of our sod. They came with an altered contract hardly legible and came back without enough sod to finish the job. Then they wanted $800 more money to finish the job and left after we almost called the cops because they were arguing with my husband (***************************) and one of the workers came out of his car and threw his beer can down on the grass in anger. Before that he was running around with a manchette in his hand. My husband called the office and talked to the owner a got no response and wanted us to pay them $1950.00 cash and then they would come back. We refused to pay them because we had a half finished yard that was half dirt of around 591 sq feet. Anyway, they finally came back on Tuesday while we were at the doctors' office and we paid them for the original amount of $1950.oo in cash. So we didn't realize that the sod was of poor quality and part of the sod is not ************* and is worse than the grass we had and was dying in a month with large brown spots and we noticed a different type of grass than ************* that we requested, especially on the part where they came back to finish on the side of our property. We hired a professional landscaping service to treat it with fertilizer and pests. We watered as directed. We cannot believe that they call themselves the best sod company in Pasco County and do not warranty their product and want only cash!

There is no warranty on sod. The contract this customer signed is for us to remove the old sod and put down new living sod, which is what we did. The contract they signed clearly says care and maintenance of new lawn is the customers responsibility. It also says we recommend using a professional lawn maintenance Co. The contract they signed also was for $2000 cash minus $50 for the coupon. They could have paid with a check but it would have been more money so they opted for cash. Our crew uses machetes to assist in trimming ************. This job was done 5 months ago . We also put down an extra pallet of St Augustine sod which the customer refused to pay for. We have won the best of the best contest in the ************* for 13 years in a row....it is our loyal customers that call us the best.Initial Complaint

I purchased 26 pcs of sod on 2/18/23. I called before going up there and was told he had sod on sale - some were $1.00 per pc and some were $2.00 per pc. Reg price is $2.25 per pc. I have his ad showing reg price $2.25 per pc. After loading my car with the sod $2.00 sod, he then tells me because I don't have "cash" it will be $2.50 per pc. NO WHERE in his ad does it say that nor did he verbally tell me or my husband this. He owes me a refund of $13.00..I tried to reason with him, but he refused to listen. I told him I was going to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and he said go ahead.It makes me suspicious why he want cash only. He needs to have a sign at his business indicating this. We live in an HOA and we're told we needed to have our yard re-sodded, unfortunately we chose *******. The sod they put down already looked dead. I was even told make sure you water extra because this sod is extremely dry. We followed all the instructions and our yard looks horrible. Even our mower and our neighbors commented on how dry or dead the pieces of sod looked. We want them to replace the pieces of sod that are dead. I contacted them and they told me they would come out and look at it but they never showed up.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:This is in reference to complaint ********. After 4 trips to my house We are not still not satisfied with the way our sod looks. There are gaps and dead grass. The rain and water have been plentiful so there is no reason for the grass to be dying unless they gave me inferior sod. We cannot mow in areas because the sod pieces literally pull up from the ground. We have tried working with them and giving them chances to fix the problem but now we want a refund to have another company do it. We had to put new sod down because our HOA notified us and after spending thousands of dollars the yard is still not acceptable.

We replaced 1 1/2 pallets of fresh, green grass on Sept. 2, 2022. That grass was part of an 8 pallet load. There have been no other complaints from the other 6 1/2 pallet jobs. There seems to be a problem with the care and maintenance of ************, which is not our responsibility. per the contract they signed.
