    Hi,

    Hope you are doing good, i have reached out to Starmark financial a day before i have raised this concern and was told the original creditor is a truist bank account, it felt like misleading me because rise capital and star-mark are the entities i see at  collections report in all the portals(creditkarma, experian). I then reached out to truist bank to check if any records exist with my SSN and nothing were found also did same with raise capital and same situation there as well and no no records were found with my SSN.

    Please help me what to do in this situation to get it removed from my credit report.

    In July 2025 I settled my account with **********************. They are still reporting to the credit bureaus that I still owe a debt to them when I paid off a settlement that was accepted.

    The company reported inaccurate information after the debt was paid. The company reported a different amount due not that it was paid. So there was a debt still owed so it was not the credit reporting that was the mistake it was Starmark.

    This company has used illegal collection practices by contacting and threatening family members. It is unacceptable and I need them to cease and desist anything regarding myself. All contact should be stopped. I have attached where they have contacted family members.

    Collection agent ***** calling from Starmark Financial calling me at my place of employment from telephone number ************, in attempt to collect a debt after an agreement was reached with the creditor. I am not allowed to receive personal phone calls or emails at my place of employment. I have let them know to cease and desist further communication in this fashion.

    Pursuant to 15 U.S. Code 1681b - Permissible Purposes of Consumer Reports, any information reported on my consumer report requires explicit written consent. At no time did I provide such consent, and reporting this information without my authorization is a clear act of fraud. Under 15 U.S. Code 1681a(2)(B) - Exclusions from a Consumer Report, any credit transaction that involves the use of a Social Security card is required to be excluded from a consumer credit report. This account violates that provision and should not be reported.
