For the past month I keep receiving voicemails from **** ******** with “RSG.” He never says what it is in reference to or what the actual name of the company is. I had to do my own research to find out it was a collections group based out of DE. I’ve called back right after I miss him and it keeps going to his voicemail so we play this game of phone tag. Every time I leave a message I ask him to please tell me what it is in reference to and give him permission to leave it with his next voicemail, as I work and am in MT time and can’t always get his calls. He still leaves these ambiguous voicemails never stating what it is about. This all being said I believe this is a scam as my credit score is 807 excellent and I owe no outstanding debts. I’ve pulled my credit report just today and $0 is in collections. I would like to know why I keep getting contacted by this individual and how he got my information and knows I’m in Mountain Time.Business response

I took out a $5,500 cash advance from bitty advance and fell behind on payments due to Covid-19 hardships. Bitty advance immediately escalated my debts to Recovery Solutions Group and they have been harassing me ever since. I agreed to pay back the money that was owned. I set up a payment arrangement. I paid $3000 of the $5,500 loan back. One lump sum payment of $2600 and the remaining in payments of $660 a week. I reached out to RSG and advised them that I was unable to continue to make the weekly payments of $660 due to financial reasons. RSG immediately told me that I now have to pay back $8,400 when they told me I was able to settle and only pay back $5,853 dollars. They are now forcing me to pay $2,800 a week or else they are threatening to place a lien on my business rather than work with me and allow me to set up smaller arrangements. This company is horrible and have no empathy for others situations. I don’t believe texting harassing me is a proper form of communication eitherBusiness response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my complaint and have determined that this does not resolve my issue. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

On Tuesday, October 26th, 2021, I received harassing text messages from Todd ******. Mr. ****** unprofessionally brought up issues from my personal life and threatened to file a complaint with a Detective for a police department in which I have an open case with, which has nothing at all to do with this merchant. Mr.****** then brought up my past employment history mentioning me being a police officer in the past and continued to harass me with text messages and very rude behavior. This company is very unprofessional and distasteful. I would like something to be done about this immediately. My personal life has nothing what so ever to do with bitty advance or RSG! Mr. ****** has obviously been doing some sort of research on my personal life during his time at work which makes me very uncomfortable. Something needs to be done about this as soon as possible, as I do not believe this is legal

I have investigated this complaint and found that RSG has not violated any laws on this commercial debt.
However, we did close this file as a refusal to pay with a recommendation for litigation.
