***** quoted for a job but only completed half the work after four visits. When I refused his demand for more money, he then broke into my home to remove the completed work. He had also wanted to charge me for two hours of unrelated talk about his ex-wife is unfair with their kids. Unprofessional, dishonest, and incompetentsteer clear.

    Date: 10/27/2025

I was at ****** ******* home a total of two times in October of 2024. The first time was on Friday 10/18/2024 for approximately 3 hours for a consult regarding scope of work for several projects that he wanted to have done. These tasks included changing out a security light/camera on a second story roof eve and discussing a whole house ** water system install. I returned on Monday October 21st at 12PM and stayed until approximately 5:30 PM.

I never returned. Not to remove any installed materials or for any other reason. I emailed ****** to explain why there were additional cost above the Estimate that I provided to him verbally on the 18th. He never paid me for the materials that I purchased during the installation of the ** water system, that was left uncompleted.

I have attached all correspondence between me and ****** for clarification.

I am respectfully requesting that this complaint be removed from the record for false statements and slander.

    Complaint: 24066649

I am rejecting this response because:

Consultation lasted less than an hour.  He quoted $500 (4 hours x $125 = $500) to complete two projects.  Installing the security light required him to make two trips because he forgot the ladder.

The RO system install stopped after running wire, PEX, and dry fitting valves which were removed during his unauthorized entry.

Purchasing the additional materials required his assistant to make 2 trips to the hardware store, he charged me for this time while he discussed his ex-wife working to turn his kids against him.  The $253.85 additional cost was never discussed, and not agreed to, prior to demanding payment.

The only evidence of any work is the installed security light.  Which is not equal to a 4-hour, $500 job.  Justifying the complaint.

    Regards,

    C.,

I am more than a little perplexed as to your intention at this point. This job was stopped and concluded more than a year ago. I have had zero contact from you since my last email on Nov. 20th 2024, that I will include, where I explained to you that the ** water system that you provided was not the "plug and play" that I was led to believe it would be. I spoke with you in person at your home before I began the assembly process. You gave verbal confirmation that you wanted me to proceed, or I would not have. If you review Invoice ****** that you received via email on Nov13th, 2024, the only line item for labor was for the original $500 that you paid in cash. All other lines on the invoice are for parts to complete the assembly process of the ** system along with the ** light that you supplied. You however did not include and plumbing materials to tie these two systems together. You also did not supply any power for the light, nor any support structure for the entire assembly. The ** system that you supplied was only rated for a single sink, you however were trying to have me connect this to the entire house's supply. I explained to you in detail prior to beginning the installation process, that this application was not as the manufacturer had intended and that the application that you were asking for would require additional materials. You gave a verbal confirmation to proceed, so I began the installation process. As you stated my assistant was there and witnessed and will collaborate my statement that we had YOUR prior approval before any work began.

I never "broke into" your house, I did not remove any of the work that I performed and your claims at this point are slander. You have never paid for the materials that you gave permission to purchase. I did not pursue payment for that money that I spent out of my own pocket for YOUR project, as it simply was not worth my time to chase down less than $300.

As you stated in your complaint, there is no "evidence" of any installation of the filtration system in the crawl space. I am sure it is safe to assume that you or someone else you hired has removed this. As I am sure that you were told that this system would not work as you intended it to, by more than just myself. The same as I explained to you prior to me beginning the installation a year ago.

You have made no attempt to contact me for over a year since my last email contact to you to rectify your complaint. What is your end goal at this point to post this a year after the fact with no contact directly to me?

As you have failed to contact me prior to posting this frivolous complaint with the BBB, I will consider this matter closed as you have made no attempt to rectify your dissatisfaction.

    Email dated 11/20/2024
    Good morning Collin.

I can completely understand your concern with the potential for additional costs. I too was not expecting that there would be so many materials needed for the system as I was expecting it to be more of a plug and play installation. Our initial agreement of the $500 was for the labor and the standard consumables with such an installation. However upon a more detailed inspection of the system that you had purchased and the complexities of completing the installation, it required additional materials that I had not prepared for.

I would like to also clarify that there was no delay in the process, as I continued to install the components that we had available and that were ready to be installed while my assistant went to the local hardware store for the additional materials that were needed. I am extremely diligent to make sure that there is as minimal as possible "idle" time/delays when I arrive to a job site. Even while you were in the crawl space with me discussing the potential options for the system I continued to work on installing the filter system.

As I explained to you during our initial consult where I gave you the estimate and subsequent discussions during the installation, we typically charge $125 per hour, not including any materials. Standard consumables such as blades and the like are included in the labor hours. However specific materials for the tasks are in addition to the labor rate. I explained that I expected it to take 4 hours for us to install a plug and play ** system and to change out the security light/camera. That would normally be $600 for 4 labor hours. You asked if we could do it for $500, and I agreed; as I was once a young family man with financial concerns, and I wanted to be sympathetic to your position. I took off almost an hours worth of my time to begin, I did not charge you for the time that it took to acquire the initial materials that I brought with me to the job site, and I did not delay the job at all to pick up additional materials as I have already explained.

I will once again suggest to you that you find a ************************** class at your local church or in the community and attend it as it will help you and your wife have a better interaction with money and finances for your future.

I feel that it would be best for you to send me a check for the balance of the money owed from Invoice ****** to the address on said invoice.

You are an intelligent engineer and the system is 90% installed already, I have faith in your ability to complete the installation with limited expense, or you can easily find an electrician and also a plumber that can complete the remaining tasks.

    Complaint: 24066649

I am rejecting this response because:

The complaint is valid.  Work and water filter system was reviewed and discussed.  Additional purchases were not authorized, verbally or otherwise and two hours of unproductive paid time is represented by the lack of progress made.  No other work has been performed since.

Intent for the complaint and review is for "Buyer Beware."
