Had a prepaid membership with Prestige fitness in ******, ** through 8/9/2024. The location closed in November of 23. They provided a temp membership at the local **** as they stated they would be opening new location in area. They did not. Membership ended in Feb 24. I was referred to Peak Payment who referred me back to Prestige fitness who won't return my email or phone messages. They owe me prorated membership fees for 5 months and 9 days. Same for my wife who has same membership.Initial Complaint

This gym closed unexpectedly on November 16, 2024. Between November 16 through Feb 29, 2024, our memberships moved to the ***** I paid for a prepaid membership with Prestige Fitness - ****** on October 1, 2024. This membership was set to expire on Feb 28, 2025. I paid $529.00. This is a 17 month membership equating to $31/month. I used the membership for 5 months (Oct, 2023 through Feb, 2024), so I am due a refund for for 12 months. By my estimation, I am due a refund of $373.00 ($31.00 for 12 months of unused membership). My contract states that a prorated refund should be issued if a club closes and there is not another club opened within 5 miles of the closed location. The owner, *********************, has not responded to my emails and phone calls.Initial Complaint

8/23/23: Jointed Prestige Fitness in ******, ** Contract uploaded. (Purpose was to hire personal trainer for at least 3 months to start fitness journey. Decide after 3 months of training if I would continue personal training or just participate in classes and use of fitness equipment, etc. Working with trainer at beginning was to provide motivation and accountability - I trained while living in *******, had good results, however after moving to ** 3 1/2 yrs ago and pandemic, didn't restart right away)8/23/23: Contract for 3 months personal training at $680 per month or $85/session. Auto withdraw. Trained with prestige trainer, **** for 2 months. Had 9 sessions remaining (contract uploaded)11/15/23: received text from my trainer Prestige was closing on 11/17 due to not renewing lease.11/15/23: began email correspondence requesting cancellation of membership and inquiring about remaining training session. There was a notification on club app informing members there would be no refunds. I was given option of continuing training with **** (this was not possible as he was let go and subsequently found other employment) or I could train at the **** where our memberships had been transferred until new club location opened, or I could train at home. I chose option of training with a personal trainer at the ****. (My home is too small so no space to train at home, and I wouldn't have access to quality equipment).I was then informed Prestige personal trainers could not train at the ****. Then ALL communication stopped from Prestige. I emailed ******************************** as instructed in the club update. NO ANSWERS. I emailed twice. Then I emailed ************ as instructed in club update. No help. They informed me to call the club. It has now been 2 months and no word on reopening in new location. (second update uploaded). I have now lost any progress I had made in first 2 months. They have not refunded money. Poor customer service!! Out a lot of $$Initial Complaint

I had a gym membership with prestige fitness that recently went out of business. They switched out membership to another gym so we could continue to work out, however the new gym is much smaller and not as nice. I emailed Prestige explaining that I no longer wanted to continue paying my membership dues because I dont like This new gym. They responded that I had a year long contract and I would have to honor the cancelation policy which meant I would have to pay for another 2 month and loose the last month payment that I paid up front.Initial Complaint

On November 7, 2023 I called prestige fitness to inquire about purchasing an annual membership for my 18-year-old son as a gift. He had been a member there over two years ago and was considering restarting a membership. I spoke with the manager and negotiated an annual membership price And agreed to $409. He never told me that there was a possibility of the gym closing. I told him my son would come into the gym and sign an agreement with that price if he chose to do it. However, my credit card was charged And my son never signed a contract. The gym closed a week later and they did not answer their phones nor my email inquiries. I contacted my credit card company to dispute the charge and got my funds back. I also called the third-party company that receives the funds for the membershipsand they sent me a copy of the contract. The signatures on the contract are not my sons signatures. They also put into the contract that its a renewing annual contract. My son would have also not wanted that since he graduates this coming May. However, despite getting the money back from the credit card company, prestige Fitness sent a new invoice with a $20 fee for the returned funds and said I owe them $429. I tried multiple times to email the local gym and call about the situation, but have not received a response. We would like our money back for the membership. I chose prestige fitness for my son, because of its location, its size, and equipment. However, my son never signed a contract and now they say we still owe them money. But that gym is no longer available. The note on the door to the gym states that we can go to the **** but thats not the gym my son wanted to go to. Its not even half the size of prestige, nor does it have the equipment. We want our annual membership plus the $20 fine return to us. I had paid the $429 so I wouldnt be given an additional fine for not paying on that. You note in the contract that the original payment was $409 Not signed by *****Customer Answer

Yesterday, 11/16/23 I received a short, borderline rude email from Prestige Fitness ****** on 64th, saying they are closing and our membership will transfer to the ***** It did not say what date they were closing. I found out they had closed their doors prior to sending the email on 11/16/23. No notice, no option to cancel. We had already paid for this months personal training sessions and gym fee.Initial Complaint

I was a member of Prestige Fitness located at ******************************** *********, ** *****. Between May-July 2022 I paid $1500 for 24 1 hour personal training sessions. In January 2023 they permanently closed the location and transferred all memberships to Crunch Fitness located at ******************************** *****************, ** *****. At the time of the transfer, I had 12 1 hour personal training sessions remaining on my account, valuing $750. Crunch fitness says this did not transfer over to them. Prestige fitness says they transferred the credit to Crunch. I have emailed multiple time and phoned multiple Prestige locations. No one at Prestige or Crunch has been able to help me.Initial Complaint

My wife and I purchased a 9.99/month per person membership to this gym prior to their actual opening date. We also referred multiple friends and family members who joined as well. We paid an extra amount up front for the promise from the gym that this 9.99/month per person rate was for a lifetime membership. This was the advertised deal and this was verbally confirmed to us by the gym as well. After a relatively brief period of time, the gym ownership changed. Presumably, the new ownership purchased our memberships as well as the gym, and initially our price agreement was honored. However, the company has unilaterally decided to double our monthly payments and break their agreement with us. The gym has expressed that many of their members are angry at the broken agreement, but they have not honored the deal with their members, nor refunded the money that we paid to guarantee or lifetime membership fee.
