I was very excited when Wine Country Roofing showed up at my residence (*****) to discuss work to be done and what is prioritized. Our game plan was to collect *****'s estimates and schedule the work based on known priorities.I patiently waited for the estimates and a week later called the office. I spoke to somebody who said that ***** was really busy. I waited another week, called again and ***** was out in the field". It was apparent i was being "ghosted".This outcome was very disappointing because the had seemed like a professional company. It also set back some of the improvements I had planned as I now need to find another roofer.Does ***** have a hard time working with women? (I was super polite to him).

We contacted ******** directly and had a cordial conversation regarding any issues she may have had with us. During our discussion, we requested that she remove any defamatory statements she might have made and discovered that she was seeking attention.

Her initial appointment was scheduled for April 15, 2024. Due to a high volume of calls, she received her estimate on April 30, 2024, at which time we addressed her questions. On May 13, 2024, she asked us to explore more cost-effective options for her project. She is not officially our customer as she has not yet signed a contract with us. We revised the quote accordingly and sent her the updated estimates on May 15, 2024.

     Thank you, and stay safe

I am rejecting this response because:

I have not heard from them despite sending photos , texts and calls.

The issue is none of the leaks - even the one near the skylight which has no solar sealed and in the last rain we had enormous damage was done in all the areas that they said they did repairs. Not one leak held.

I am happy for them to return to conducts repairs and remove whatever is necessary but the fact is they have not returned any of my calls. The last phone call I had with ***** he said he was going to have a meeting and get back in touch with me. That was early December . Since then we have not heard from them.

Clearly the workmanship is unsatisfactory if not one of the leaks was repaired. What did I pay for ?

They should not have conducted any repairs if they knew the repairs would not hold or the roof was not repairable but they advised while the best option would be to replace the roof, the repairs that they could provide would be helpful - if not why would you take $8000 from someone?!

I look forward to resolving this matter.

    Sincerely,

    To Whom It May Concern,
In the matter of 18828408 Wine Country Roofing has been in contact with the customer by
text email and phone calls. We have left messages and have tried to set up an appointment to
resolve issues. We feel we are a company that does not shy away from issues. We informed
them that repairs would not have a warranty and due to the precondition of the roof, we knew
that it was time to replace the roof. We offered them several options from a full re-roof of the
entire complex, re-roofing only sections, and doing repairs, we feel that is it our job to show options and not advise financially what to do. On 4/26/2022 @ 9:17 am, we sent
Here is the estimates for the repair we can go ahead and start as soon as she signs the contract
but there is no warranty on the repairs because the roof is past its prime and there's most likely
to leak from other areas but you will be receiving a 2 year warranty with the pigeon blocker
If you have any further question feel free to email or call me
    Thank You Eddy Hernandez
. On that same day 4/26/2022 @10:16am this was sent to us:
    “Ok thanks Eddy.
I understand regarding the roof. I just want to know that if there are any
issues with the repairs in the near term that you would have someone patch
that as part of normal customer service.
We intend to do a full roof upgrade as part of a broader project sometime
in the next year or so.
    Thanks Grant”
Then we didn’t start the job until 6/21/2022 so their claim of:
“They advised us that can not guarantee their work and that we needed to replace the roof AFTER they had finished the job.”
Once we finished the repairs, the customer asked us to come back and take care of an area that
wasn’t part of the original contract and we obliged with their request. Then we tried to set up a
meeting to show our findings and the customer said they couldn’t meet with us. We returned on
9/20/2022 and 10/24/2022 to the property after the original repair date, some of the issues we
found were outside of the scope that we are licensed for which made the possible repairs almost
impossible. To do further repairs: decks, solar panels, and thermal arrays need to be removed. The only thing the customer wanted was for us to stop the leaks and without understanding that the option they chose was limited to areas we could reach.
    On 11/28/2022 we sent:
“Hilario let me know the situation and for us to help you we need you to remove the thermal array so we can get under and find the leak, as it is we can't get under the array.
When we came out, we sealed what we could reach. Remember on 4/26/22 I mentioned that
there is no warranty on the repairs because the roof needed to be replaced.”
I understand that we are not the first company to come out and attempt to fix the issues, but I
do understand that the other companies would have told them the same thing. I feel that the
work we did was justified and a roof in that condition will have more issues if not fully replaced. We are a company that tries very hard to keep high customer satisfaction with all our
clients and we feel that there is still a path to rectifying the issues but not at the expense of all
the work that had been done with or without the cooperation of the client.
    Sincerely,
    Maximiliano Ver

    RE: Complaint 18828408
The opinion of rejecting the response that was given with dates, time, with verbatim on what was said
and what needed to be done is in my opinion unfair. I feel that Wine Country Roofing is being taking
advantage of for a free roof. We had told you that the roof needed to be replaced and you
acknowledged then as you do now “but they advised while the best option would be to replace the
roof” we gave you an attempt to repair what is obviously a roof that has seriously pre-existing issues.
Like any leak repair, we can only eliminate areas that we think it might be coming from. You have the
proof that we did large patches on all the areas that we agreed on and like we stated before we feel that
the area that are leaking are under object that need other trades to remove. We are not plumbers nor
electricians to remove thermal arrays or solar panels. Theis costs were not factor into the repairs and I
fear the client would want these services for free. At this juncture I could provide a full reroof in the
areas where repairs were done at a discounted price to assure the areas won’t leak but only if the client
finds their own contractors to remove panels. As for the area where the skylight is located and
mentioned in the complaint, the same offer of re-doing the roof at a discounted price. Since your
compound is large and you have many sections isolated from one another the discount only applies to
those area. I feel until you understand that the best way to resolve the issue is to replace and repairs
where only offered to help you in your financial situation. Wine Country Roofing is here to help all of
our customers not to be accused of unfair practices.
We too are eager to put this issue to rest and have everyone move forward.

I am rejecting this response because it is unethical. Wine Country Roofing conducted repairs that they now say they do not believe would have helped the situation, my roof, and therefore took the money from the customer knowing the job would fail. They have acknowledged it many times by saying we should have got a new roof. Why accept the job if you knew the repairs you conducted wouldn't hold ? It feels like a complete scam and ripping off the unknowing customer who is not a roof expert. I have more damage to my roof  and house ( walls etc) now than BEFORE the repairs took place ? How is that possible ?  I paid $8000 for more damage.  How is this ok ? Are you not here to help the customer ?

    Sincerely,
