I came across the above company Labtuit Inc. through LinkedIn. After few emails and a Telephone call, Labtuit sent me an Email offering their services for a fee of 3% of first-year base salary after I land on my dream job with their assistance. Offered services include Resume rewrite ,7 one-on-one sessions, interview preparations, network referrals, negotiation guidance etc".Based on the above offer I registered for their service to seek their help in refining my Resume and to find an employment. I paid the upfront fee of $199 on 30th June 2022 and signed the agreement without going through the fine prints as I was busy doing my Research work and preparations for the Final exam at the University. Thereafter, also decided to delay the job **** until after the Final Examinations as I was not getting enough time. As a result, I have not contacted Labtuit for any of their services listed above, nor scheduled any meeting with them or shared my CV with them. Meanwhile, I got a job offer from a consultancy firm in ******** **, after applying through the Universitys career portal and hence did not contact Labtuit again to seek their help.In the first week of January 2023, I started working and updated my LinkedIn profile accordingly. Thereafter in March 2023, I received an email from Labtuit , asking me to share my pay stub plus offer letter for this position. Also says that Lastly, given you failed to inform us of this role, which qualifies per the agreement, we expect you to respond to our messages and pay any amount owed without us having to follow up. If that doesn't happen, Labtuit reserves the right to resort to legal action, which will significantly increase the cost on your part. If we do go the legal route, we will be adding upto $5000 to the amount owed to cover our legal fees.I feel the this demand from Labtuit is totally unfair as I have never ever availed their service, nor they spared their time for me any time after my registration.

Thanks! The contract you signed literally says the below. We have fixed costs to pay, irrespective of how much users use the service. "If you (the Client) dont want to take advantage of what we offer, please do not sign. We want this agreement to benefit you. We started Labtuit because we are passionate about helping candidates find the best opportunities they deserve. But this requires some effort from you!If you opt not to take advantage of what we offer, this is your choice and the 3% charge will still apply (irrespective of how you land the role, including if it is from a position where you didnt use the resume we optimized for you or from a position that you got connected to from one of your contacts, or anything else). The reason for this is that we have to hire more advisors as we sign more users so we can provide the best quality for you. Some of our costs are fixed irrespective of the extent to which each user takes advantage of what we offer. This is why we encourage you to only sign up if you are actively exploring new job opportunities and you want to put in the time/effort to land your best job."

I signed up for this service a few months back and boy when I say stay away, please, stay away. They claim to be a Job search firm that helps you fine tune your resume and skills to find a job. You have to talk to their team and "get approved" You pay $199 up front. They tell you to send them a message once approved of any interviews you got prior so you never pay for offers prior to contract. You sign and agreement Then you play meeting roulette as they dont have enough advisors to work with you. Then you sit on these calls with people who clearly hate their jobs and maybe their lives and tell you things like " You can just google search jobs" and " how do you think you will find a job"... Then when you send them proof of interview prior to contract they say they never got it and say you still have to pay them or seek legal action. Your better off going at it alone with a company like this. They use outdated methods and advisors who barely know how to do a screenshare. They are not trying to seek legal action for $1200 for doing nothing!

We are sorry that you did not have the experience you were hoping for. On the first session with each candidate, our advisors encourage each new job candidate to utilize a "check-in call" at any time for any reason. These calls are meant to support a candidate throughout their job search and provide additional guidance for situations such as this, where a candidate might not see the value from some of the activities and sessions. We also offer to pair each candidate with a different advisor if they feel more comfortable with someone else or if they need additional availability for sessions. We are sorry that you did not see value from the first session, as we offer 17 call sessions throughout the program and it is not reasonable to expect significant results after only one session with an advisor. We encourage our candidates to take full advantage of everything we offer. Unfortunately, in your situation, it seems that the remainder of the program was not used, based on your comments. As for pursuing legal action, this is rarely used and only if a candidate disappears and ignores multiple follow-up attempts via direct email to the address that candidate provided to help them with their search. Please feel free to reach out to us directly for more clarity.
