I purchased business insurance on September 17th through Coverhound website and paid the entire years coverage in one payment of $810 (I have proof of payment on my bank statements) through coverhound. ***** was the carrier and I assumed payment went to them. I received an email from ***** a few weeks later demanding payment. I called ***** and told them I made full payment through coverhound, They said they would clear it up. A few weeks later I received a letter demanding payment and again contacted ***** who said again they would clear it up. A few weeks after that I received a letter of cancellation and demand for $102 payment as a cancellation fee. I contacted both coverhound and ***** and demanded this get cleared up so my business would be insured, and again was assured by coverhound they would get this all taken care of. A few weeks later I received another letter from ***** for cancellation of service and a bill for $102 cancellation fee. Clearly this has not been taken care of and I no longer want to do business with either chubb or coverhound. I still to this day do not have my refund and have had to file a complaint with the state insurance commissioner.

I purchased Insurance with Coverhound (Safeco) I had automatic draft. The amount that was taken out of my account was not the amount quoted to me. I also paid for the entire month at the beginning of my policy, I cancelled my policy thirty days later. They took a second month out of my account @ $226.00 and this took me two days to contact someone in reference to this. they refused to give me a refund and stated that I owe them another $62.00 because in the state of NC there is a cancellation fee for termination of insurance. There is no termination fee in the State of NC. So I'm being charged $514.00 for one month car insurance? Really they are Ripoffs

I opened a small business (self proprietor) and contacted Coverhound for the appropriate insurance policies. Before I had even finished submitting the application online Coverhound was calling me which seemed pushy. The rep then started asking me all the same questions as what I had put in the online application plus a lot of personal information no other company had asked in order to give me a quote. The rep then informed me it would take a few days to be able to give me a quote from one of their partners. ??? Several days passed, Coverhound didn’t call me so I called them and was informed that none of their insurance companies would insure me because my business (esthetics) was too big of a risk. I then contacted two of their top companies (***** *** ******) directly and was approved for a policy over the phone and given a quote within 15 min. Not sure what the deal is but Coverhound gave me incorrect information and poor service. Do yourself a favor and contact the insurance companies directly yourself, do not trust a broker like Coverhound.
