      Please beware when using this service. I am writing this review because I feel the only way for this company to resolve its repayment issue is to publicly shame them online. I received a cash advance on 3/16 and then received an email 3 hours later stating my repayment was in process. I contacted customer service and was told that the system automatically drafts on my scheduled pay date. I explained that it did not make sense for me to request a 3-hour payday loan. I was advised that I would be eligible for another loan once the payment had been processed. It was also recommended that I allow at least 24 hours after my payday before requesting any future advances to avoid the error. I should have canceled the service immediately but against my better judgment, I attempted to request another loan on 4/29. I made sure to request the advance the day after my payday and confirmed that the payback date was set for my next payday. This time the repayment was processed within 2 business days after I received the advance. I reached out to the Empower chat helpline and was informed that the system does not automatically default to the next payday. I was instructed to contact support directly when requesting the advance for an agent to manually set the repayment date. This is unacceptable. These types of errors can result in overdraft fees and Empower still has yet to address the issue.

      My problem with this app is the fact that they charge you a subscription fee BEFORE you can find out how much they are willing to advance. I was granted a $10 advance & later that day was charged the $8 sub fee which caused an overdraft on my account. They did not even wait until payday to deduct the sub fee. You should be able to see what your advance options are before having to pay for a sub fee!
