    I signed up for a 7-day free trial of Motion. Before the trial ended, I attempted to cancel through their website. I never received any confirmation, and on May 21, 2025, I was charged $1,127.52 for an annual subscription I did not authorize or intend to purchase.I disputed the charge with my credit card company the same day. Motion did not respond to my original support request, and I received no communication from them until July 10, when I emailed them directly after the dispute was reversed and the charge was re-applied to my account. They claimed the subscription was canceled 6 days after it began but provided no timestamp or evidence to support that.

    The user initiated a trial on 5/14 and agreed to our policies that the trial will auto convert into a subscription at the end of the trial. In order to not convert, they would need to cancel the trial on or before 5/20. The user had actively used our product and only reached out to us only after the payment was charged for the subscription on 5/21, which was beyond the duration of the cancellation period of the trial. The user then attempted to dispute this on their credit card, in which we provided proof of accepting the terms of our policy to start the trial and then using our product during this time. We respond to disputes due to additional charges imposed by us from the credit card company, and to protect our standings with the credit card companies.

    In an effort of good faith, we have fully refunded this charge even after the credit card company had awarded us the reversal of the dispute due to sufficient evidence. The user should see the refund reflected within 5-10 business days (depending on how quickly the credit card company processes).
