After having a Mexican timeshare for 16 years, my wife and I tried to surrender the membership with the Mexican Timeshare Resort on our own. We were told by the Resort that we have a “lifetime membership” and surrendering this membership was not possible. The Resort said we could transfer or sell the timeshare but we would need to find a buyer on our own. There are several hundred timeshares for sale in Mexico on various websites, they have no or very little value and in reality you cannot give it away. I contacted Mexican Timeshare Solutions with the intent to see what could be done with terminating our timeshare membership legally since the Resort would not terminate the membership with our numerous calls and emails. Mexican Timeshare Solutions asked for the pertinent details regarding our timeshare and they quickly determined that based on what I had tried to do, the Resorts response, and their knowledge of Mexican laws, legal action filed in the applicable Mexican court was the best solution to legally cancel this timeshare membership. We signed a formal contract with Mexican Timeshare Solutions with specific declarations on what I needed to do or provide and what they would do to terminate this timeshare agreement. I liked the terms and conditions of the contract, specifically that a fixed payment was stated in the contract, it was reasonable, and payment was due only upon the successful cancellation of the timeshare membership. They handled all legal matters including filing court documents and representing us in a Mexican court without our presence in court. They kept us in the loop with what was occurring throughout the process, submitted court documents and after the Mexican court hearing (several months after filing the paperwork with the court) we received an official Mexican court ruling document that states our membership had been cancelled with this Resort. Having this timeshare that we were not using and paying the yearly maintenance fees now behind us, I feel a tremendous burden has been lifted for my wife and me and for our children since they would be the beneficiary of this timeshare as stated in the Resort timeshare contract. I cannot speak more highly of Mexican Timeshare Solutions in their handling of our matter and would recommend them without any reservations. I only wish I contacted them immediately when my wife and I decided to terminate this Resort timeshare membership. Richard S January 2019
