    i was not informed there would be an additional $230 charge for legal zoom to complete all the forms necessary for establishing a 501c3 corporation.

    My Registered Agent with Compliance Essentials renewed in June, 2025 with a $200 price increase, going from $299 to $499. This is a ridiculous change in price for the same service. I tried to refuse the charges on my payment card but was asked to talk to LegalZoom. Legalzoom's response was that a refund for a canceled annual subscription was impossible. They could only offer me last year's pricing, so essentially I would be paying $300 for a service (Registered Agent) that I wont use or need as I have already transferred to a separate service for a much lower price. The fact that this is not only happening to me but other customers are filing complaints should tell you how egregious this is.

    I purchased a *********** package from LegalZoom on May 19, 2025, for a one-time payment of $686, believing that this included all necessary services to form my business. At no point during the checkout process was it made clear that I was enrolling in recurring subscription services.Shortly after the initial purchase, I was charged an additional $199 on May 28, 2025 for a "State Compliance Filings Renewal" and $49 on June 18, 2025 for a "Business Attorney Plan Renewal." I did not knowingly authorize or sign up for these ongoing services, and there was no obvious notice or option to opt out.I reached out to LegalZoom immediately upon noticing the charges and requested a refund. They responded stating that the subscription terms were disclosed at checkout and that because I had passed their 30-day refund window, they could not issue a refund. However, I maintain that the terms were not clearly disclosed, and the recurring nature of these charges was not presented in a transparent or prominent manner.I believe this constitutes misleading billing practices and a lack of informed consent. I have not used the additional services tied to the subscription charges. I respectfully request a refund of $248 for the charges I did not knowingly agree to.I am filing this complaint with the hope of a fair resolution.

    On 5 June, I paid LegalZoom $800 for the concierge service for the disillusionment of my LLC. I was supposed to get a phone call 24 hours to start the process. I never received a phone call. I have now reached out to LegalZoom 10 times to escalate the issue and to have someone call me back to start the service that I paid for. No one will return my call although I have escalated it to upper management. Every time I call they say someone will reach me within 24 hours and no one ever does.

    LegalZoom charged $1,274 for undelivered and unauthorized *********** January 2024, I paid LegalZoom $441 for a Premium DBA filing service in the state of *******. The service was never completed. LegalZoom later admitted this and issued a refund only after multiple requests and escalation efforts nearly 18 months ******** addition, I discovered that I had been charged $49 per month for 17 months (totaling $833) for a Business Advisory Plan subscription that I did not knowingly enroll in and never used. These charges were not clearly disclosed during checkout, and I received no communication alerting me to the ongoing subscription.Despite numerous attempts to resolve the issue directly, LegalZoom has only refunded the original $441 and has failed to provide any resolution or further refund for the $833 in unauthorized subscription charges. Their customer service responses have been vague or noncommittal, and no one has confirmed whether the subscription refund will be honored.LegalZoom presents itself as a legal service provider but is not a law firm. Customers can easily be misled into expecting attorney-level accountability and support, only to receive minimal customer service and automated responses.This complaint seeks a full refund of the $833 in subscription charges and a public record of LegalZoom's failure to provide transparency, customer care, or ethical billing practices.Desired Resolution:A full refund of $833 for the unauthorized and unused Business Advisory Plan subscription.

    On 07 Jul 2025, I was charged $199 from LegalZoom. I did not approve of this purchase and I have not used Legalzoom in the past year. They charged me automatic subscription last year also which I did not noticed. Yesterday when I saw the charge on my credit card, I contacted legalzoom requesting refund for the charge thay charged yesterday for the upcoming year. I am not planning to use Legalzoom anytime soon. They refuse to give me a refund and tell me that there will be no charges going forward starting 2026. I am very upset about this that I am not planning to use the service in the upcoming year and I should be able to cancel the charge within a day for the future. This is a bad bussiness practice that a company will not return the charge for not providing a service. Requesting refund for the charge they charged me for the upcoming year which was posted on the 7th.

    Date of transaction - 06/18/2024 -Hello there.I have opened *** through Legalzoom for which I paid $459 on 06/17/2024.On 06/18/2024, I was charged another $199 without my permission and awareness. When I noticed a recurring charge on my card this month, I called my credit card company to make them aware of this unauthorized charge. At that time I was informed by my credit card [ AMEX ] about the same charge which was made on 06/18/24. Unfortunately, credit card company can't dispute as this transaction is beyond the eligible date. Then I called Legalzoom and spoke to ********* subscription specialist ] and requested for the refund as I never received or asked for services from them. He refused and said this is against their policy. He then sent me copy of the original receipt when I first purchased the *** and mentioned that the receipt declares about the charge of $199 and it will be a recurring charge. Please see below the attached receipt that was provided to me. At the bottom it says, there will be a recurring charge. I feel that I am scammed at this point. I need your help

    Legal zoom blatantly lied to me on 3 separate occasions and charged for things i didn't need to pay while trying to dissolve my LLC. They also posed as the state of Delaware which is not legal. First they stated that every time you file in ******** its a $300 filing fee. This is false and confirmed by ***************** of Corporations. Second they stated Delaware required me to pay for a annual report before they could move forward with the dissolution and then charged me a additional $200 late fee on top of that. I called the Delaware Division of Corporations. They stated they do not require any annual report. Finally when i complained, a supervisor again blatantly lied to my face stating that the annual fee i paid for was actually an additional franchise tax fee for the second year of my LLC. However I had already paid the Franchise tax fee with the initial dissolution. Called the Delaware Division of corporations, and they stated the franchise tax is due 1 year and six months after forming the llc. ****** hasn't even been around for 2 years so i only owe the one franchise tax that i had already paid in the initial dissolution. On top of all of this, i have not heard anything since about my dissolution. this is completely unacceptable and frankly, theft.

    Business Name: LegalZoom Complaint Type: Billing/Collection Issues Complaint Summary: Fraudulent Charge for Compliance Filings Subscription Using Updated Credit Card Info Without Consent LegalZoom fraudulently charged my credit card in July 2025 for a Compliance Filings subscription renewal I did not authorize. The original subscription began in 2024, and I had no intention to renew. In fact, I received an email from LegalZoom saying my credit card had expired and asking me to update it to avoid service disruption. I did not update my card, and I did not approve any renewal.Despite that, they somehow processed the charge using a credit card with a new expiration date, which I had never entered into their system. This is a major breach of billing ethics and consumer consent. I disputed the charge within 30 days, but LegalZoom refused a refund and claimed it was part of the original 2024 orderwhich is clearly false, as this was a new charge for the ******** service term.This is unauthorized billing behavior. I am requesting a full refund of the July 2025 charge and an explanation of how LegalZoom obtained and used my updated credit card information without my consent.
