    I initially opened a legal zoom account to ************ in *******. I am a psychologist and I do not employ anyone else, and I work out of my home seeing clients virtually. They recommended so many unnecessary forms and subscriptions. After having legal zoom for a few months, I found a local CPA who clarified what I actually needed, and I found out I spent over $1000 on unnecessary subscriptions. I acknowledge that I should have done my own independent research, but I would expect a company who advertises as being experts in setting up LLCs to know that I didn't need half of what was recommended. The biggest issue I have with them, and the one I believe the BBB needs to be aware of, is the unreasonable amount of time and communication it took for me to 1) cancel my subscriptions and 2) delete my account. They do not provide options to cancel easily, I spoke with 3 different customer representatives, and it took almost an HOUR. I do not want them to have access to my credit cards, but there is no option to have those removed either. This has been such a negative experience, and I want the BBB, as well as other potential clients, to understand what they are getting into. It is incredibly difficult to cancel, and from my understanding businesses are supposed to offer clear, simple options to cancel or close services.

    I am pretty upset. I closed my business months after opening it as I didn't have the time. I told Legal Zoom and they apparently charged me anyway and refuse to refund the money because I didn't realize the scam on my statement within 30 days. Then, they message me again with another renewal so I send the documents of the dissolution, which they would have known about when trying to file anything on a business that does not exist. So, they've basically stolen $220 that they refuse to get back and only call me and inform me once another charge is about to hit. Avoid these people at all costs. It's unnecessary and expensive. Go to your secretary of state website and register your business with you as the registered agent. They scam people based upon the knowledge they don't have and don't do their own due diligence before stealing money for a non existent business. AVOID.

    Wasted thousands on a trademark because they did not tell me that taking their name off would not allow them to help me any further. All I have to do is put their name back on as my representative but they won't do that and won't give me back my $2,000 and now I have to spend another $1,000 on another lawyer. They also never got back to me on another order and because so much time has passed they are requiring that I pay them again for them to help me. Scammers. Unwilling to work with their paying customers.

    I applied for the basic package for my LLC. I was charged excess fees of over 760$. I have contact customer service several times to put a stop payment to my account as well as sent.Numerous emails requesting a stop payment to my account.And even still have a pending charge for 10/10/25.

    I was instructed to set-up my business as a professional business and the state secretary denied my business application as they required a professional license like an attorney or doctor would possess. Upon reaching out to Legal Zoom I explained by business doesn't require any license and they acknowledged that the business should not have been set-up that way and asked me to change my tax designation status to a ************* instead of my original request of ******* These are recorded conversations and texts which Legal Zoom is in possession of. They re-filed my applications for the two business but one of them again came back denied as they claimed the business name was in use. I was then instructed by Legal Zoom to change the name of my business to which I explained that the business name they are claiming is in use is the false business name from the original submission. Legal Zoom again acknowledged this with a donkey response of "I don't know how this can happen.". In addition, Legal Zoom verbally communicated that they would issue a full refund for one of the business set-*** and upon inquiry they claimed they can only provide a $300 set-up. Do to this disaster, it took over two weeks to set-up both business but it cost me money in earned revenue and payments pertaining to the business which I had planned to pay from a business bank account for tax-write off purposes. Since the business were not setup timely, I had to make these payments from my personal account resulting in loss of tax savings.

    LegalZoom raised their rates for one of their subscriptions from $249 to $399. They sent an email about this 30 days in advance; however, I was 3 days late to cancel. My subscription renewed on 9/16 and I wasn't able to call on 9/19. However, when I called on 9/19, they refused to refund me for $399; after a very long argument about this, they agreed to refund me $200, but in my mind this isn't a fair resolution. I no longer need the service and would like the entire payment refunded.

    They promised me the whole package August 7 2025. They said they were going to help me start my business. They would get all my permits and license and LLC for my business. They did nothing but collect my money. They will not make it right. They refused to offer me a refund. They keep saying they will get back to me, after I refuse to settle for nothing. I did everything my self. Now they want to take credit for what I did all by myself. I want the package I was promised or I want a refund. Who in their right mind would pay a company ***** to give them nothing. They did not do the service they were hired to do. I am extremely displeased. I have been scammed by this company.

    I see this complaint is similar to reviews left on Trustpilot. Your first negative review on Trustpilot was on September 7, and I escalated your case to our team then. Jan and Diego from our team called and emailed you multiple times as follows:

    August 7 - You placed your order.

    August 9 - Your order was completed.

    There was no contact by you from August 9 to September 7.

    Sept 7 - You posted a negative review to Trustpilot.

    Sept 7 - I escalated that review to our Care team.

    Sept 8 - Jan from our Care team attempted to call you. No answer, left voicemail. Sent follow up email.

    Sept 11 - Jan called again, No answer, could not leave voicemail as mailbox was full. Sent follow up email.

    Sept 17 - You responded by email.

    Sept 17 - Jan replied to your email within an hour. He noted: "Your documents are complete and available in your LegalZoom account under the documents section. I've also attached them below, along with a copy of your receipt. I do not show on the original order receipt that physical shipping or a binder was included in your order. "

    Sept 17 - You responded via email: "Well for all the trouble of getting proof of what I WORKED SO HARD FOR WITHOUT ANY HELP FROM THIS COMPANY, maybe You could just give me the binder. I PAID LEGAL ZOOM TO HELP ME START MY BUSINESS.  THEY DID NOTHING. "

    Sept 18 - Jan responded via email:

    "Your order has been completed since 8/9/2025. We registered your business with the state and obtained the EIN. 

    As the first page of the certificate shows, the formation documents were returned to LegalZoom because we submitted and created the business. You can review all the documents' dates, as provided by both the *** and the State. They are all dated and approved as of 8/8/2025 we did not complete the order on 9/17, it has been ready since 8/8, as all the document show. Additionally, the upload date on your virtual documents in your MyLZ account will also show 8/8/2025. 

    We do not show that there was any contact with us regarding questions about your account from 8/7, until 9/8 when we first contacted you regarding your TrustPilot review. "

    I contacted Legal Zoom to update my company information and add an owner to my file. In doing so I updated my address and completed the process with payment. Once done the paperwork was mailed out to the wrong address with all my personal information being sent to the wrong address.

    I purchased an LLC formation package from LegalZoom that included Employer Identification Number (EIN) obtainment. LegalZoom failed to deliver the ************ forcing me to complete the filing myself with the **** When I requested a refund, LegalZoom refused a full refund and only offered $60. I accepted this partial refund under protest but consider the service unfulfilled. I am requesting a full refund of the amount paid, as LegalZoom did not provide the services as advertised.

    I have Been charged by this business for subscription of something I didnt Ordered. Last year I made membership to establish my trust and will which is fine. I asked Them originally if that is one time deal and they confirmed but now after a year they charged my account and when I call Them they said they wont give refund
