As you can see from the attached contract, I purchased a gym membership, paid in full, from 1/2/23-1/2/24 for $120. I went to the gym in *****************, ** the other day and it was locked. No notice, no email, no refund. I emailed ************************************************** asking for my refund and received no response. I also tried calling ************** abcfitness.com, as listed in the contract, but they only tried to sell me something.I expect a refund for $60. I purchased an annual membership to the Crunch Fitness on *********** in *****************, **. The location closed permanently in June without any communication. I paid $194.99 on March 15th for a year of gym access and only received 3 months before the location closed in June without notice. The next closest location is in *******, which is not an option as it is 40 miles away, I want my money back.Business Response

Unfortunately this gym was unable to recover from the pandemic, and despite best efforts to remain in business, has had to close its doors permanently.
All active memberships were transferred to Chuze Fitness, which has two nearby locations:

The Crunch Fitnees ***************** Location closed its business on Jun 23rd and informed its members on the same day through email. They gave an option to use Chuze Fitness as the same membership will be carried over to them. But the Chuze Fitness locations does not work as per my schedule as those are far from my home. My only reason to select Crunch Fitness was that it is very near to my home and I can easily go there as per my schedule.My membership started on Jan Jan 12, 2023 and I paid for full year upfront $169.99. My membership was done by their district ********************** went to Crunch Fitness at ***************** on Jun 23rd itself which was last day for them and told about my Problem and asked for a refund on the Prorate basis. The person (Mr. **** who was there told me that they cannot do anything at the moment and asked me to send email. I had a gym membership with Crunch Fitness Colorado Springs. I cancelled my membership on March 14th, 2022. I have the documentation below as proof of my cancellation. Despite this, I continued to be unknowingly charged through November of 2022. I was promised by phone and email from the manager that a reimbursement check would be processed and sent to my home address. The check never came, and when I tried following up with the manager, I was continuously ignored, and then given 4 different fake email addresses to contact. The fake email addresses were as **************************************************** ****************************************** ****************************************** * all of the above addresses were given to me over the phone by Crunch Fitness front desk employees. I went to great lengths to confirm that each address was copied and written down directly. Each new address came from new phone calls to the Crunch Fitness ** Springs South Location. One email address was valid, but I never received a response. Sometime in March I called Crunch Fitness and spoke to the front desk attendant when I requested to cancel my membership as I am no longer able to go to this gym due to time constraints. The attendant told me the cancelation was requested and that was all that was needed.On 05/04 I noticed that Crunch had processed a full years worth of payments from my checking account in the amount of $65.69 and so I immediately called them to get some help with getting my money back. The front desk attendant who answered the phone's name was ******* and I asked him to talk to a manager. His tone changed from happy to annoyed and told me the manager wasn't available but he could help me. I told him that I was not willing to speak with front line staff because it was a front line staff member who caused this issue to begin with and I didn't trust anyone but the manager to help me at this point. He laughed at me and insisted that he help me request a refund to which I insisted I speak to the manager. ******* refused to let me speak to the manager and hung up on me. Every time I called back ******* picked up the phone and then hung it up immediately. I waited an hour and called again at which time the manager "****" answered and I told him the whole story and also let him know about the way ******* was treating me. He told me he requested the refund and would call me to update me. Today on 5/9 - It's now been a week and I still don't have an update and the funds are still not in my account. I called ********************** and asked to talk to **** and was told he wasn't in. I told them that he's expecting my call and asked if he was really not in and she said he's actually in but on break. This manager doesn't take customers calls and this is an issue because they took money from me that they should not have. I need my money back and I need **** to allow me to get on the phone with him this is so ridiculous. Unbeknownst to me, my membership at the recently closed Prestige Fitness was transferred to Crunch Fitness. I immediately went to Crunch and requested to have my "new" membership cancelled, and was told to email the manager at the club. Two weeks later, I was then charged a monthly fee despite requesting to cancel. I emailed the manager again asking to cancel and requested a refund. Two weeks later, I went back to the club to inquire about the status of my requested to cancel and get a refund. I was told my membership was now finally cancelled, but I needed to email the manager to get a refund. The next day I was charged once again the monthly fee, even after being told my membership was cancelled. I have now sent six emails, plus multiple phone calls and visits to the club, and still have not seen a refund nor gotten confirmation that my "membership" was cancelled.Initial Complaint

Crunch Fitness is fraudulently billing me for memberships that were originally set up through Prestige fitness. I called them (1/31/2023) when I learned that my account had been transferred without my knowledge, They said to send an email to *************************************************** which I did on 1/31/2023. I expressed my concern that I never gave consent to transfer my account and that they did not have consent to bill me nor have my bank information. I was clear in my request to close and delete all of my information. I was billed for two memberships on 2/16/2023 in both of my bank accounts. Crunch Fitness is doing this same thing to many clients from Prestige. Crunch Fitness is continuing to bill clients when they have been instructed to discontinue all billing. It is fraud. I have been experiencing billing issues regarding this location since joining on 8/12/2022. They had been double charging me for my membership from the start and continued to do so for the next 3 months. After several attempts to contact the ** of the location (who was NEVER available) via phone and email, I decided to go in person to settle this issue. After finally getting a hold of the ** in person and explaining my issue, the ** tried to divert the blame on me by saying that I "must have gotten my information stolen" which I refuted by saying asking how THEY lost my info like that. It turns out, the issue was that one of the employees put my payment information down for another member who shared the same name as me. The ** claimed that it would take **** business days for me to get my money back from the double charges and that they "only had one person to handle over 180 issues like this" so I had to be patient. He also stated that he would give me "3 months of free membership for the trouble" in addition to me getting my money refunded. This interaction occurred some time in mid November. The following month, not only did I not get my money back but I was charged AGAIN (only one charge this time) despite the ** guaranteeing that I would have 3 months of free membership. I immediately called and spoke to the ** asking for an update and he gave me the same excuse of "we only had one person to handle over 180 issues like this". I went ahead and demanded my refund (he told me it would be **** more business days) and I decided to cancel my membership. He verbally acknowledged this and assured me my membership was cancelled. I am a member of Crunch Fitness and arrived at this location at approximately 12:15PM on Saturday, January 28, 2023. Currently I am moving and will no longer have access to a crunch fitness gym locally at my new location. Upon entering the gym, I was greeted by an employee, ******. After requesting that I wish to cancel my membership, the employee insisted on "placing a note" to the General Manager to cancel, as ****** could not cancel for me. Assuming that this would be properly handled, I did not receive correspondence to confirm that my monthly membership was cancelled as promised by ******.
